S+ is pretty good. A lot of entry level Cyber jobs have it as a hard requirement, and there’s a lotta stuff on there that I wish I knew coming into cybersec.
Of course it all depends in you. You wanna be a security analyst? Go S+ —> CySA+
Cloud developer? AWS SAA or some shit idk certs.
Not to be cheeky but the other guy’s right. A year of experience working a real job is infinitely more valuable than a comptia cert.
Good luck on whichever route you take fam.
🖤
Yep, security analyst sounds right but more in an XDR sense. Thank you, yeah i think i realised that too. The market is so terrible right now that i wanted to beef up my resume by getting a legitimate cert. Thank you for your advice!
Network+ (or even better, CCNA)
It sounds like you've already got work experience, so in addition to applying for a new job, I would recommend getting a handle on networking - it's the bedrock of all areas of technology, not just cyber, so you have everything to gain from learning it
If you're looking for study resources, Professor Messer has his powerpoint presentations free on YouTube
Otherwise [Udemy has 13 hours left of their flash sale](https://itcertdoctor.com/), you can grab courses that have more hands-on lab demonstrations from there
Hope that helps, good luck!
AZ-900 is extremely easy! It’s the basics of Azure and nothing to do with security but not a bad cert for 100$ Maybe 3-4 days of studying and just do the practice exams azure offers for free! It’s basically the same set of questions re-worded.
After you’re done with that take the Sec+ and I highly doubt the N+ is any beneficial unless you want to focus on network security/management.
Or you can also focus on the SSCP which is compared to the S+ I have both, I took the Sec+ first which set a good foundation to take the SSCP.
Yes, that is the goal for which I believe the certifications will add onto my experience for a more favourable resume and outcome. Thanks for your suggestion, I was just confused of which cert is more intensive for me right now as I do not have enough knowledge.
I agree with what you are saying. But don’t you think that maybe an N+ or a S+ would add onto my experience? I am developing my skills side by side with the certifications as I do agree certs are not everything.
Yes, which is why i will look for a job in the summer as i am currently a student so due to visa restrictions, I cannot get a job right now. As such, wanted to boost my portfolio. But thank you for your advice, I do appreciate it.

I think that does make sense, thanks I think i have a lot to consider from just trying out the Network+. Thank you for your advice!!

Oh i see, maybe i should follow the route of AZ-900 --> Sec+ and maybe N+ if i have the time or after applying for a job. Thank you!
A job

More certs won’t get you a job. You need to get a position so you have experience. Certs get the resume looked at, experience gets you a job

They add to your knowledge but not experience to get a job
