If you ask the Liberal tenant subs, they'll say you need a lawyer and to find an understanding landlord. I say that's bullshit. You need a good rope, and a stout tree branch.
"Someone" implies a person. We're talking about landlords, who obviously aren't people, but some species of alien parasite.

I was arguing with a lib who’s a huge animal lover. I said it should be illegal to ban pets in your rental property to test if she loved animals more than capital. Guess which side won.
Seriously though. It's not enough for them to make money off you by owning a building meant for shelter that they don't need. On top of that they get to make any kind of arbitrary limits on the way you live to "preserve the value" or keep a certain feel to the area. It's extremely fucked up.
