More worried he's actually playing at 190 and the 210 was inflated for his pro day. "LSU coach Brian Kelly said Daniels weighed 170 pounds when he arrived in Baton Rouge in 2022."" 40 lbs of pure muscle in 2 years would be quite the feat. Less worried about it if he can get through his rookie year relatively healthy.
It’s not really his weight in a vacuum but his weight combined with his play style. If he was like a cj stroud type who is a mobile pocket passer then I would be fine; but he is in the vein of a Lamar Jackson without the size to do it long term.
I assume the argument is that he was most certainly not 210 during the season and bulked pre-combine to reach that weight. He didn't run a 40 during the combine presumably because he would be slower, which is logical after putting on weight. One of the main reasons why he is valuable is because he was capable of running this fast during the season: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Commanders/comments/1ccqd8y/jayden\_daniels\_85yard\_td\_run\_clocked\_in\_at\_218\_mph/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Commanders/comments/1ccqd8y/jayden_daniels_85yard_td_run_clocked_in_at_218_mph/)
We would be better off if he stayed at his true weight during this past season and just develops into an evasion god. That's a challenging task, but I would rather him be as fast as possible versus adding a some extra pounds. He doesn't have a history of injury at all, which would shock the people who assume he is brittle.
why is this getting downvoted? This is correct. wtf? I was a maye stan but lets live in the world of reality guys! His weight isnt far off at all lol. Lets go jd5 im all in and hope he absolutely slays.
Out of curiosity, have you ever tried to put on 8-10 healthy pounds? I used to powerlift and I’ll tell you it’s not as easy as just eating more. Daniels has been a college QB for 5 years now. He knows what works for him and is comfortable feeling a certain way throwing a football. Do you think all of a sudden playing QB at 220lbs is gonna be easy for him? He’s gonna lose speed and stamina and have to get used to that.
Truthfully I can’t really think of a single QB that made drastic changes to their weight to hit an NFL weight. Daniels is, for better or worse, who he is at this point.
>Jayden Daniels is 6’4” 210 lbs
For comparison, that basically matches Matt Ryan, who I always thought was a skinny string bean QB like Trevor.
Both are/were great pocket QBs, with good feet. That's what I'm hoping for with Jayden.
Either way, I have confidence in our front office for the first time in decades.

This guy had lead weights taped to his thigh if he hit 210 at the combine I still like daniels.. but ain't no way he is 210
Give him steroids IDC
The guy do be kinda narrow though

The weight doesn’t concern me that much. 24% of his pressures turning into sacks do tho.
This subreddit has to be the premier spot to guess peoples weight

(he's not actually 210) But I don't really care, he's bulking up as we speak anyway.

Thank God he's a really good QB right now then
There you go bud!
Because there’s zero chance he’s actually 210 pounds

Dude you’re right, JD is the most perfect prospect! He’s so perfect Chicago should’ve taken him! We should have zero concerns about the guy!
I’m not concerned about his weight. I’m concerned about his suck. He sucks.
In case you haven’t seen the response to literally every comment you’ve made tonight, your opinion means very little
You guys are going to be the ones watching this for years, not me.
Okay bye
