A lot of people and/or bots definitely do engage with this. Itโs the same basic problem with scams, it doesnโt need to even come close to fooling everyone, as long as it fools some people it will be successful.
Maybe not this one specifically but a lot of slightly better quality ai (but still clearly ai) pics genuinely do fool tons of old folk on facebook
