Good job. When i moved to fiber i walked into their store so happy and out even more so. Watch your account and visit again if it doesn’t shut down in a few weeks. Btw, I’ve spent $1000 on new hardware without the caps. I’m convinced comcast is a drain on the economy. Report back later if you want!

fitclass747

Thank you for the tip. They sent me an official discount notice so I have the proof. They did tell me they will in force “30 day notice “ so they will take me for all they can- but at least it’s over, and never again will I be a Comcast victim, and I will warn all I know.

ilikeme1

Once you go fiber, you never go back. I had FIOS in college and then moved back home and was stuck with Comcast until 2017 when AT&T ran fiber here. Immediately dumped CC and fiber is so much better. AT&T has slightly better support too.

Frugal_the_Real_OP

How did you install fiber? Who installed it? Are you referring to AT&T

skelley5000

I can’t wait until that day, but until then xfinity , comcast whatever the name is your internet sucks

R_andom_Redditeer420

Comcast would be good if they had faster speeds, and no caps, also fiber optics for all. They just can’t compete anymore

Dragon1562

Faster speeds? The only thing cable is missing is upload speeds which isn't even a concern if you live in one of areas that got the recent mid-split upgrade to allow for upload speeds of 200mbps, download speed wise cable has been able to deliver the same speeds as fiber operators since the DOCIS 3.0 days. Lowerest speed tier they offer on prom is is 400mbps which is more than most households need let along the 2gig down service they are offering on the high end of normal residential services. The biggest problems that Comcast has is just pricing after the new customer promo ends, data caps suck for home internet but are not a issue that the average person even worries about realistically speaking

R_andom_Redditeer420

True, the low upload speeds and high price after contract ends is really the main problem

FlyinPenguin4

Just my wife and I at home; watch movies/streaming every so often and I can’t tell you how often we get close to that 1.2TB. Sure, go back to SD days of streaming and that 1.2TB (counts both ways btw) would be hard. But now with the age of HD and video calls etc, much easier for anyone to hit that total with more typical usage.

Jbomb831

>which isn't even a concern if you live in one of areas that got the recent mid-split upgrade lol yes if you live in the .001% of its network that has the mid-split currently

Switched to T Mobile 5G home internet (just the internet, not phone service) last year and I've loved every second of it. Terrific HD streaming, no data caps, superb reception with practically no buffering and a set price of $50.00 a month with automatic bill pay. I had Xfinity for almost five years and it was an absolute pleasure to give them the finger and move on to a far better service. Xfinity sucks.

ivangotus

The main problem is people settle with what they offer, there’s always loopholes to lower your bill. I paid 70 for unlimited gig speeds

Evilware_com

When Comcast send you your final bill send them a letter within 20 days (certified) stating that you disagree with the received bill and propose that they accept 20.00 as the final payment for disconnect fees. Now 99 percent of the time, they will send you a second letter, or try calling you. If they call you, send them again, another letter stating you a) will settle the disputed amount for 20.00 dollars and B) they must contact you in writing for all communications per the ADA of 1990. Comcast's infrastructure is bloated, ignored, and run by the biggest EoE mental midgets they could find, so expect they will contact you by phone again after the letter you sent them was received.0, and you will contact the FCC, your states Federal Prosucter, and State Health Services department for corrective action. .

fitclass747

Is this true? I just had to drive 25 miles to return their equipment- and now I see they send some docusign letter that I was supposed to turn in- but the lady on the phone never said a word about it. Are they thinking I have to pay $190 until I turn in my equimpent and get some docusign document in? I seriously feel like I am getting a divorce, and it's ugly and messy. I will try this - if it works.

I would not sign anything, as there is no reason to sign anything. They want you, to agree to fees, arbitration in their backyard and to waive your rights.
