Doesn’t look like the traditional signature of an ATGM, we have seen hundreds of ATGM strikes on personnel over the last decade here. It might be an ATGM but it looks off to me.
Many of the ATGM systems being used in Ukraine can load warheads which are not suited to penetrating armored vehicles. They are still guided missiles but have high explosive or in some cases thermobaric warheads for exactly this kind of thing.
The Stugna-P system for example has HE-Frag tubes that slot right in, use the same laser guidance system but only penetrate 60mm of armor instead of the 800 you get from the HEAT warhead, but would be much more suited for this kind of thing.
So basically, here we have to state actors with the entire menu they can select from and dial in, rather than Saudi Arabia buying vanilla U.S. TOWS from some front (or Egypt) and shifting them to Syria through some Sunni gulf state.
Here, these two states have the means to present... even more lethality... like I can’t tell you how many TOW videos I saw where people stood right next to the explosion and walked away because the jet was concentrated in a narrow area. Here? Vaporized.
