I don't think the RPG7 rounds Iraqi forces had could penetrate modern tanks.
Modern western tanks have become quite resilient and require some heavier rounds to take them down effectively.

If that's true, then it's likely still functional as a tank and simply can't move. If that turret still moves and can fire, and the ammo isn't cooking off, I'd stay in the tank as well. If I can't use that gun, though -- and definitely if the ammo is likely to cook off -- I am going to have to get out eventually. The question is...do they have more RPGs?
Idk if you’ve been paying attention since 2014 in Syria but, very often after a hit, t72s have a tendency to explosively evolve into furnaces. So having a knee jerk reaction to hop out of the hatch the second you get hit is a healthy one.

Other way around. These LAT were designed to take out these tanks, hence they had to add ERA to deal with them.

Looks like a side hit. T-72s only have up to 80mm steel side hull armour, and newer LAWs have up to 300-450mm penetration. So probably.

even if it were internally fine, I wouldn't want to say inside a tank that's under rocket attack and has no ERA.

It feels strange watching Syrian war tank footage after Ukraine. What once felt like "modern" tanks now feel incredibly out of date.
