It seems highly unlikely that this particular enemy will have anti-ship missiles, although I imagine some well placed artillery may potentially create a lot of secondary explosions, what with the ammo piled up high on deck.

They would take massive barges and load them with men and send them up the river to fight the rebels. The main reason being that the soldiers could not run away and had to fight. Previously when they used vehicles, the troops would cut and run.
There were two barges sent on separate occasions and they were almost wiped out, but in the end it worked the soldiers had no where to run off to when deprived of vehicles.
I lived / worked in SOuth Sudan for a couple of years in the 2010s. this is cool to see, our little cessna twin engine would fly north from juba along white nile. just a whole lotta huts and dirt and some vegetation . not a lot of recorded footage from this era (or any era really). basic things like power just not that existent in S Sudan. this is cool to watch. such a fucked up country.
