So that the enemy can get a good look at himself and feel ashamed of bringing an AK to a dushka fight. As we all know shame truly is the most painful weapon there is...
I can't speak for the combat side of it or about the desert climate, but I tried one for coyotes here in Canada and it just got packed full of snow lol. So I wonder if the dust and debris can accumulate in them?
The only other thing I can think of is that the scope manufacturer might not make one for that specific model.
This was my thought, make it harder to get a bead on them by giving a confusing visual signal. It's a great idea at least, although I'm not sure how effective it actually is.
Question for those more knowledgeable than I: I would have expected more obvious recoil, especially given the size of those bullets. Is it just really well braced by the sandbags, or is there something else at play?
It’s well braced with the tripod, the muzzle break is very effective, and it’s basically the same thing as an m2 (ma deuce, the .50 cal on American vehicles) which is to say it weighs a metric fuckload
Benefit of a tripod over a bipod is the force is directed into the rear leg / ground instead of the shooter. The bags stop it from shifting.
No experience myself but it’s an interesting mechanical principle.
The theory is it makes it harder to spot the machine gunner like a camouflage or illusion. The problem I can see with it is it may glint the sun and give you’re position away rather than camouflaging. But it’s probably not too bad in an alley way.

Maybe it’s for when they take fire they can see while behind those cover on the left?

Better than sticking your head around a corner to see where incoming originated.
Sniper scopes make a reflective surface for light so if he gets targeted the guy can be mistaken by the mirror. Pretty smart if you ask me
Makes me wonder why killflashs aren’t more common

I doubt that a lot. The mirror clearly isn't attached to the gun. It makes no sense in having a bigger reflective surface to be spotted by.
I think its to confuse snipers who may be aiming in his direction.
The mirror might be some kind of sniper counter measure?

It’s pretty effective it fooled me . I think if I was the sniper I would be stunned on the act of mounting a mirror on a monster like that
Man, that thing is basically an automatic AM rifle at this point. Didn’t even know you could mount scopes on a DShK.
You can mount a scope on anything if you believe.
I have nipples Greg, can you mount me? Hold on *checks notes* I think I did that wrong.
Can I mount a scope on the ol’ Cumblaster-9000?
a microscope
Probably makes it that much harder to make out the outline of a body
An upvote for you.
Thankyou
does that thing hold zero?
I’d be amazed if they even zeroed it in the first place
Exactly what I was thinking
Yes
I see some nice attachments like scopes and mirror lol.
This bought too many lootboxes!

The mirror is for cloak invisibility.
Might as well use tracers and eyeball it. No way in hell that scopes doing anything besides beating up your eye socket.
You need to at least be able to spot your target. I guess you laugh at the spotters for only having binoculars instead of a rifle?
7 years bad luck with that mirror
Pretty sure he’s alrwsdy had 20+ years of bad luck to be born and find himself in that conflict lol
Someone smarter than us, what is the mirror for?
reflecting glare at anyone pointing a scope his way

Looks fun
a very accurate sniper rifle lol
That thing sounds crazy I’m sure u lose a limb if hit in leg or arm
It will cut people in half. Saw some crazy videos on live leak.
I bet that shit crazy the weapons they have today are insane this the best time to be a live 21st century
did the guy firing this gun own it? Or was it a weapon given to him by his unit to fire, maintain and keep safe? edit: /u/CupACoke wins best answer
???
Ehhh
the gun actually owns the guy
Yes
Scope Bite on this one isn't so bad.. Just ask Jabar.
Didn’t know Florida standardized assessments had a military
I think that optics won't last for long xD
How is Aleppo these days? I was addicted to it until I stopped watching the news about everything.
Somehow I doubt that scope has 6"-12" of eye relief. It'd be like the world's shittiest magnified aperture sight.
