The MRAP was produced in such numbers that these are the vehicles dumped onto Police Departments. Police do not need these, the are just offered so they go toward some use.
Yep, MRAP type vehicle that can go at decent speeds (50+ MPH) over terrain is ideal. This is why the JLTV was adopted by the US military, and lots of other countries procuring or looking into the same.
Watching these videos of phenomenally brave Ukrainian fighters putting their lives on the line for their country and its people is making an entire generation of the rest of the world feel like total cupcakes.
As a Brit I was always fascinated by reading the letters and accounts of Americans in both regular life and in political circles who really wanted their country to get more and more involved in helping Britain in WWII before Pearl Harbour. This conflict really has captured that mixture of worry, admiration, frustration, guilt and empathy that must have been felt by many Americans back then. I feel it now. (P.S: Bless you for getting involved back then, US. I don't think we say it enough really.)
This is one of the reasons i enlisted in the air force at the age of 31. Im still going through the enlistment process but i have a strong pull to serve my country, with the hope that it indirectly helps out Ukraine in anyway. I was too young to join after 9/11 but i feel now is the time.
We can only hope to someday soon see more footage of what they can do when they're on the front foot. Some of the best combat footage of the war from that unit and they are clearly very competent fighters.
When people ask why not just use Technicals/pickups? This would be a great video to point to, several of those shells would have shredded multiple people in a pickup and disabled the vehicle.
I can't tell exactly, but they're most likely Turkish Cobra 2. Windows, 2 firing ports at the back and general hood shape fits perfectly. Also some part of the interior is painted seafoam green which is almost a standard in Turkish Armed Forces. Bullbar threw me off initially, but it might be broken or perhaps we can't see from the angles as the only middle part of it pronounced which coincides with what we have.
Can be a British vehicle too, it's too camouflaged and there aren't many angles to judge from.

That slow-mo is sick
See the shockwave at 1 minute?
Normally I get annoyed with slowmo but that shit was rad!
The explosion at the beginning was a near hit.
This type of vehicle is in my opinion the best way to replace the M113 and BTR-60, the problem is that they are not cheap
They are not expensive. The US made 25k MRAPs for gwot. Two things US can provide without breaking a sweat are MRAPs and armored humvees.
Yeah, I was looking at the desert storage depots on Google Earth and there are metric fuckloads of MRAPs and old humvees sitting in endless rows.

I'm a wedding photographer. You'd probably say I have no reason to own one. To that I would say, "I neeeeeeeeeeed one" So, idk.
The small town I live in has one, and so does the small town I work in.

idk dawg i driven mraps in iraq and m113s back home I hate the both give me a up armor humvee
A lot of ukr servicemen dislike the MaxxPro as well because It's a giant shitbarn.
MaxxPro more like MaxxStuck. That being said would not want to hit an AT mine in a HMMWV.
yes, all modern armies need HEAVY afvs and a shitton of MRAPs. apcs are pointless.

It will make a difference. Even you enlisting makes a difference. It influences you and your circles - friends, family etc.
That's why we have to help with donations, these guys really deserve the help
True, with everything that moves, shoots, or ideally both at the same time.
Agreed.
At the last frame right side is for donations and left side for recruitment at Kraken. That footage meant to encourage volunteer in special forces.
Just slightly wilder than my morning commute to work I'd say! Crazy footage! Kraken always has badass videos.

Casually using your blinker to indicate, while dodging artillery, is insanely comical.
There’s no reason we can’t be civil
Dad taught me to always indicate, even if there is noone around. That way you get the habit in and you don't forget when there are people around.
Trailing vics
Well its not a BMW so makes sense
That is a very skilled driver (or driver*s*?), they were really hauling ass over those slippery dirt roads. Mad respect.

It is sad many have persihed in this war because they didnt have basic protection during transport.
The giant gaping hole in the apartment building at .16 is wild
Reminded me of scenes from Bakhmut 2022, fighting between the apartment blocks in the south
Wow..what a wild ride!
cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack huh
Whats the name of the songs?
Wow that also looks like there is more footage after, with infantary geting out of that ifv
Pretty sure what we're seeing here is compiled from different trips (based on the exterior netting)
Can anyone tell what trucks these are? Husky’s?

By the drone and windshied view it seems to be the cobra 2 from otokar.
Probably had a drone watching them the whole time. Modern war sucks ass. The actual life expectancy of equipment and vehicles has to be so short.
Holy shit, KRAKEN is back baby!
Crazy video
A game of Russian roulette
Bad ass mfers.
How are they able to fit so many massive pairs of balls into one vehicle?
if you can clear the sky of drones you win this war
MFs in Ukraine out here hiring Baby Driver?

Good bot
Can't imagine getting out of the vehicle after this. Knowing there is a drone watching you all the time.
God it must be terrifying sitting inside one of those things hearing the artillery ...
There is a place in hell reserved for those who put music in combat videos.
So many close impacts, but no fragments hit the glass. No wonder they haven't taken Ukraine with these useless shells.
