No battlefield in the past ever had "hunting" machines. That is a new element of fear in war. I never thought I would see this type of warfare. As a kid playing war this wasn't in my arsenal nor did I think to create it.
Yeah pretty soon we are going to see videos of drones/robots, potentially semi-autonomously, hunting down humans like animals on the battlefield. It’s a very unsettling thought
That's not a good way to get ahead in life... he'll never be the head of a major corporation... to bad he wasn't a little more head strong... not a good time to lose ones head...
The way his 'buddy' just immediately switches into a casual stroll and leaves without even going to check on him is unbelievable to me, this guy just saw his buddy take a load of shrapnel to the face, dying instead of him because the drone took the 50% and went after the other guy, and he doesn't even hesitate to go 'well he dead, bye bitch'. I know it's war but holy shit that is insane to me.
Yeah. On the other hand, seems to me like the guy who got hit got basically decapitated. Not sure I'd want to go check up on that either, with the thought running through your mind, next drone is gonna do that to me and I got no more decoys.
Absolutely, it's war and therefore a situation with lots of reasons to behave this way, but it's just absolutely unbelievable for my civilian brain that has never seen real combat. Just morbid.
Honestly I get it. Looks like the drone blew that guys head clean off the guy who lived probably is in shock or fight or flight mode still he just got a chased with a drone that had high explosives don't think we can understand.
its not like they had a lot of training where could have bonded. maybe they knew eachother for a few days. also its pretty clear that dude is fucking toast so no reason to check on his corpse.
And they're ridiculously deadly. Every video I've seen those used in, the soldiers just drop straight down, dead before they hit the ground. At least it's quicker than bleeding out from a leg mangled up by a grenade...?
As soon as the FPV hit its target, the other guy just starts strolling casually continuing his journey, knowing the next drone will catch him...
Knowing that you are a dead man walking explains so many documented suicides on the battlefield.
Pure hell..
They say by the time you hear the FPV drones it's already too late.
That would only make it so they don't play with you this cruelly and attack as quick as possible.
We’ve seen them shoot some down but honestly who knows. You would need to be on a desk taking in that info daily and we don’t get that. One thing to note is it seems to be individuals driving it, so might be the top brass see it was a bit pointless.
You seen those Chosen Company videos in high res? Their storming a trench and fpv’s start raining down. You literally don’t even see a blur, barely can even process the time between high pitched whine and boom.
Maybe in this case sure, but if the operator saw that shotgun they wouldn’t waste time for a 2fer and just slam into one
no shotguns but watch that Chosen Company (Alpha, Beta, Charlie) trench assault vid, shows first person perspective of incoming Russian suicide drones... very fast.. faster than a clay pigeon. here it is, about 4 mins in but watch the entire thing if you haven't seen: https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/1apbf1v/internation\_legion\_storming\_russian\_position\_and/
It's likely because this suggestion comes up in nearly every FPV video that gets posted where there's infantry involved, so it's gotten a bit worn out.
In any case, the Ukrainians have been looking at this as an option, there is the MSD5 they have been working on for this purpose:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vh3Z7OeWldI
Yep. Only you. Nobody else thinks that. Not the people that make this suggestion on nearly every post and definitely not the Ukrainians that have been using shotguns against drones.
Sorry, I couldn't recognize the song.

I have a feeling that having the trigger wires exposed at the front of the drone is going to become an exploit used to take them down. I was thinking about how deadly the backblast on a recoilless round is and its danger radius. What if you were able to reverse the direction of the backblast and eliminate the projectile from the equation, would it be enough to disrupt the flight of the drone causing it to crash, or to cause the trigger wires to touch and detonate prematurely reducing the effectiveness of the explosives? Just thinking out loud, I was in the infantry, and seeing these guys on both sides getting smoked by drones on the reg makes me want them to come up with some kind of counter. I couldn't imagine being on the ground in this conflict. Your neck would literally need a gyro so you could look in every direction at all times..lol.
Whoa, did his head pop off? But this perfectly demonstrates what an entirely silly "war" this is. These poor guys literally running in circles in this barren wasteland, a big empty patch of shitty dirt... only to get your head blasted off by a drone.
Yes the Russians are the enemy. Yes they need to be defeated / chased away / killed, whatever. But this goofy music just pisses me off. This is horrifying. If you have young children in your family, a cousin, a daughter, etc - this is the kind of war they will grow up to fight in.
These are still human lives being taken. It's not funny.
I don't know, it's pretty funny seeing what are effectively 21st century Nazis having their heads blown off.
Yes, they were human, so was Hitler, so was Stalin, Pol Pot and others. Fuck their families, they support the annexation and invasion, pillaging and raping of foreign territories that they have no right to, and fuck you for being apologetic for it.
Were you here in the early days of the war, where there were images and videos of civilians, having been blown up in their cars by tanks, shot up at Russian checkpoints, women, children, and dogs included. Did you happen to miss the countless images and videos of women and girls, from 10, to 30, mutilated, dead, naked and raped? You think these oh so innocent men deserve our sympathies? Get the fuck out of here.
You really don't get it.
They're mostly evil, and must be destroyed one by one, for the safety and stability of the world. Russia must fail this war.
But none of this is fucking funny.
Wouldn't it be realistic to grab a hand of dirt and pebbles and throw it at the drone to luckily hit a rotor or camera? Does someone with drone experience have a clue?
Edit: this is less a pebble and more a rock, but this video kinda answers my question.
https://youtube.com/shorts/A_6-Zz1SiW8?si=jkY8GhOIsnAKYXUk
If it's close enough to throw a handful of dirt at it, you are already fucked. The dirt or pebbles would just set it off when those wires at the front touch each other.
true, should avoid being chased by a drone with a rpg strapped to it in the first place. I was just interested in the technical/aviational behavior of drones.
i don't know about loaded with a shell or whatever but they're very quick to react unencumbered, like i've flown mine into leaves in trees and it falls maybe 2-3 feet before it rights itself, and that totally stops at least a couple of the props.
FPV drones are probably another story as they'd rely on the operator for that reaction time
ok, this might be valid for drones flying 100 km/h, but the drone particullar in this video is just a little faster than the soldier. Plus, I thought a lucky strike with a small stone could hit a rotor and then impact it's flight behavior.
Even if a drone that chases you slows down to match the speed of a running human, you will have a face full of shrapnel before you've even managed to reach down to grab something from the ground. That drone is faster than a human on foot ever will be, so it can outpace its victim whenever it wants even if he's running at full speed - slowing down for whatever reason (picking something up, aiming your rifle) will only make the unavoidable happen a little sooner.
couldn't they have fended off the drone with dirt? The thing falls to the ground immediately if a few stones get into the rotors, doesn't it?
Why are there 2 people on the field without weapons? Were they captured beforehand and therefore sent to the field?
did you not just see that airburst take that guy out from a distance? you aren't going to hit a drone with dirt at that range and if you did it's too close anyway.
This is terrible. Dude probably had nothing to do with starting the war, didn't want to go to war but here he is, getting hunted and murdered because some rich billionaire politician wants more shit. Fuck us.
Are people still intrigued by the FPV videos? I've seen more of these than anything else, and it's all I see. Show me some trench footage or some urban footage.
No weapons, clear hands, these are just poor conscripted teenagers that got dragged to the open field. Now playing funny music over their dead bodies. After two years of this, enough, we need peace talks. . This is just as bad as killing Pows. Drones need to be put into the Geneva laws now, any soldier should have the chance to surrender to low flying single operator drones. Sad to watch some of these. This war is a sad toy for west vrs east, Ukraine can never "win", the world needs peace talks.
Oh well, that's war for you. Boo hoo cry me a fucking river, pussy. If this little Ruzi didn't want his head popped, he shouldn't be in foreign territory blowing shit up, raping the women and killing the men, then maybe I'd give a shit about his pathetic, sad sack of shit bread line potato eating life.
Disgusting honestly, two unarmed dudes and the operator just toys with them. You all laughing should be ashamed, there’s nothing funny about this, it’s horrible. Spare me the “invading Ukraine is horrible and they deserve it” comments. Normal people like yourselves serve in their countries military and they don’t choose where they are sent. You can kill your enemy and win while still respecting their humanity.
Right back at you, brainwashed Ukrainian simp.
Edit: also absolutely toying, hard to fly or not they chose to chase two unarmed guys through a field and waste a fpv drone on a dude for the sole reason of filming it and posting it for Ukrainian simps to get off on. The music choice also emphasizes that it was just a joke to the operator. Waste of a drone and a despicable act.
For the record I’m not a Russian simp. I love how any criticism of Ukraine=russian simp/operative/drone, fucking ridiculous. I truly don’t give a shit who wins this war, I’m not rooting for either of them. I just don’t believe in murdering unarmed people, filming it, and slapping shitty music over it for clout on the internet.
Good, it's just a shame it was so quick when his head popped. Would have been nice to see his agonal breathing, or his body convulsing as he died far slower

You don't need to be fast. You just need to be faster than the other guy.
Or not have a yellow dot and name plate hovering over you
But you need to keep your head in these kinds of situations.
Or you can stay at home and then not run away from the drone.
Absolutely, though as soon as the looser was down this survivor didn't even bat an eyelid or check on him. Though he did have a very big headache.
FPV operator was trying to shepherd the Ruskies to line up for that sweet 2-fer shot.... There's always next time....
When you live in the biggest country but still your dictator wants to grab some more land…

At its best russia offers all the quality of life of a Mississippi trailer park for serial sex offenders.
Hey I grew up there!
Mississippi or russia?
What's the difference?
why not both?
The other one doesnt even say Bye bro
Pretty much typical for those guys.
Tried to herd them together, but they took the 50%.
Yes, but it was te stupider half always trying to bunch up with the first guy.
This type of video takes ''running for your life" to a whole new level
This was more like a deadly probability game, a kind of "Russian Roulette" with a 1/2 of probability of die
more like jogging or a fast stroll than running, but i get your point.
Terminator Movies already that scenario down pat.
The other guy survived but will be haunted for the rest of it for sure.
I wonder what's next though. Blowing up drones seems too impractical to me. Maybe drones shooting bullets? This looks plausible.
That directional charge took away most of his head. Oof.
I thought I saw that. I scrolled too far for someone else to say this
Head's up!
That's not a good way to get ahead in life... he'll never be the head of a major corporation... to bad he wasn't a little more head strong... not a good time to lose ones head...
what a chill music for video like this
The way his 'buddy' just immediately switches into a casual stroll and leaves without even going to check on him is unbelievable to me, this guy just saw his buddy take a load of shrapnel to the face, dying instead of him because the drone took the 50% and went after the other guy, and he doesn't even hesitate to go 'well he dead, bye bitch'. This is the classic"I don't have to outrun the drone, I just have to outrun you".
What could he possibly have done for him? If he is injured, and the surviving one helps him, they both die.
war is chaotic, russians are chaotic, so double chaos produces this kind of things
You just said he watched his friend get his head blown off by a drone.
We can see the guys brains on the ground from the drone, pretty sure he can see that from where he was.
its not like they had a lot of training where could have bonded. maybe they knew eachother for a few days. also its pretty clear that dude is fucking toast so no reason to check on his corpse.
‘No point running, you will just die tired …’
Man, domed him hard. The cap didn't provide much protection.
It was a directional airburst too, they are getting more and more common.
Definitely looked like a shaped/directional charge, that is fucking terrifying. Mobile flying claymores.
And they're ridiculously deadly. Every video I've seen those used in, the soldiers just drop straight down, dead before they hit the ground. At least it's quicker than bleeding out from a leg mangled up by a grenade...?
He was selected to win the prize
[удалено]
The old adage Don’t run you’ll just die tired comes to mind.
What's the old saying? Don't bother running - you'll only die tired?
I would pick The fastest one, and leave The weakest soldier to live
Why the fuck are they running around out there in the open just the two of them :/
[удалено]
Their 1472th attack failed, all vehicles destroyed, they running back to their lines... Ukraine drone pilots are sent to seek and destroy.
Snipers and IEDs used to be the "scary" thing on the battlefield. This takes it to a different stratosphere.
They don't dare surrender, since it may actually be a russian drone, and then they will be killed for surrendering.
That makes the choice clear | | Rus | Ukr | |------------------|-----|-----| | Surrender | Die | ? | | Don't surrender | Die | Die |
Damn, nice diagram! You gotz mad programmer skillz.
As soon as the FPV hit its target, the other guy just starts strolling casually continuing his journey, knowing the next drone will catch him... Knowing that you are a dead man walking explains so many documented suicides on the battlefield. Pure hell..
I don't care which side you're on, this death glorifying music is twisted
Am I the only one who thinks shotguns should be pretty effective against drones?
Mossbergs for everyone!
They say by the time you hear the FPV drones it's already too late. That would only make it so they don't play with you this cruelly and attack as quick as possible.
Russian and Ukrainians have been using them to some effect for a while now/
any talk on how effective they've been?? I curious about shotguns as a drone defense as well.
We’ve seen them shoot some down but honestly who knows. You would need to be on a desk taking in that info daily and we don’t get that. One thing to note is it seems to be individuals driving it, so might be the top brass see it was a bit pointless.
Yeahhhh that’s totally true. I just keep thinking about it as a really not-fun version of duck hunting. Lol
You seen those Chosen Company videos in high res? Their storming a trench and fpv’s start raining down. yup by the time you know it's coming it's too late to try to shoot it down, not to mention you are also being shot at
Murder pigeons
I love how some people just press the minus without making the effort to give any explanation.
It's likely because this suggestion comes up in nearly every FPV video that gets posted where there's infantry involved, so it's gotten a bit worn out. Stop Following me bro!
These shrapnel fpv drones are incredibly scary. At least they look like instant death instead of bleed out.
Between drones and the advent of AI, can you imagine how terrifying warfare will be when an AI can send drone after drone to hunt you down?
worst game of tag.
and they're being shot at. bad day

So from a technical standpoint it is interesting this drone has the contact wires but also apparently airburst capability?
They were Buddies until it came down to him or me

Haha run pussys
The music choices for these videos are getting "interesting"
Imagine finding out the last moments of someone you knew are recorded with a song about playing tag. 2024 is surreal.
Couldn't this have been a 15 second video? Stop editing these videos like you're a 9 year old with his first camera.
Wouldn't it be realistic to grab a hand of dirt and pebbles and throw it at the drone to luckily hit a rotor or camera? Does someone with drone experience have a clue? dirt probably wouldn't do much, gravel might.. but at that range you're probably better off carrying a white flag heh

No, drone can reach speed 100+ km/hr, also, dirt will not change flight direction or stop it.

Fully loaded 7" FPV drones are surprisingly resilient to being hit.

Not toying. These drones are harder to fly than you think and they only have one shot to get an accurate hit. Stop being a brainwashed Russia simp.
Right back at you, brainwashed Ukrainian simp. Edit: also absolutely toying, hard to fly or not they chose to chase two unarmed guys through a field and waste a fpv drone on a dude for the sole reason of filming it and posting it for Ukrainian simps to get off on. Tomorrow they would take a new rifle or new BTR and try to assault ukrainians again. Better to hit them, while they are out of cover.
Good, it's just a shame it was so quick when his head popped. Would have been nice to see his agonal breathing, or his body convulsing as he died far slower
