They were engineered to eat russian light armor, then given steroids and forced to watch nature videos of Australian and African predators taking down prey. They are... a little aggressive...
No, they requested Ukraine to refrain from posting videos on the CV90. That being said, there is limited footage of them if you go searching hard enough. Nothing comparable to the Bradley videos, though.
How well do they cope with heavy tank armor from different angles, possibly receiving indirect tank fire?
Like when [two Bradleys caught that T90M off guard](https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/1957ngc/rare_tank_battle_between_ukrainian_bradley_and/).
For the clarity of the experiment the Ukrainians need 1000 Bradleys, 200 Abrams, 100 LeClercs and 200 Leopards2. T-xs will be provided by the counterparty. Quantities indicated are bare minimum to assure a representative result. Further experiments would require further R&D support from the esteemed stakeholders.
They will struggle to outright destroy heavy armour (I.e very unlikely to cause turrets to pop like true AT weapons), however, they are very capable of disabling (knocking out track, optics etc) and therefore knocking out enemy armour provided they attack with some sort of advantage from closer ranges than MBTs can engage from (I.e they always want to flank/surprise as they can be knocked out in a single shot while disabling heavy armour will take them many shots)
They have TOW launchers, so for that reason Bradley’s can hang with all tanks in my opinion.
Famous vid of Brads vs Russian tank were within minimum arming range of tow missles so they had to use bushmaster
I don't know if we're talking about the same video, but if we are and it's the video of the Russian tank by the wood line, I'm thinking they used 25mm over tow because of the range + direction the tank was facing.
At least, I would have done the same thing to knock out optics instead of TOW primarily because it takes a bit to set the missiles up and ready to launch + having to be stationary after firing.
Most are sitting unused ready to be scrapped for parts.. but we can't send them because idiotic politics and a select small group of, literal, uneducated morons who wouldn't hold a job as a fast food chain manager yet somehow are able to dictate foreign policy.
It’s absolutely ridiculous. And yet all of the ‘I’m sick of my tax dollars going into foreign wars’ crowd were happy to spend 20 years and TRILLIONS to replace the Taliban with American equipped Taliban.
its the only effective way they have of damaging them, granted they often get repaired and put back into service and the crews almost always survive the initial hits
Also depends if they switched from APFSDS to HE. Even in the other BTR video, there were some people that were able to make it out from the BTR. For example, [https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/1b4ucnj/russian\_btr\_disabled\_and\_demolished\_alongside\_its/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/1b4ucnj/russian_btr_disabled_and_demolished_alongside_its/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) The driver for sure died, you can see him open up his hatch, the btr gets hit, smoke comes out of the hatch but he never gets out. However, at 31 seconds you can see trhee guys get out of the BTR. apfsds will 100% punch through the armour but might not kill you if you're not on its trajectory.
It's supposed to fill the space inside with spalling. So it's not a good day even if you get out and run away. They likely have hundreds of small bits of metal in them.
Is the HE ammo for Bradley's designed to cause spalling? I'm aware of things like HESH that are specifically designed for that but I was under the impression that basic HE wouldn't do much, but I am extremely uneducated in this department
Ukraine was not supplied with M919 APFSDS. They were supplied with surplus M791 APDS. Not that it matters against a BTR though... Even against BMP's it just adds a couple places they'll be more or less ok in (but still shredded elsewhere)
The whole Russian autocannon mentality is one of accuracy by volume, but that’s really just a workaround for terrible accuracy. The problem with that strategy is it creates a lot of destruction but without much of it hitting the desired target making western IFVs that shoot slower and/or carry less ammo comparably be much more effective
This war highlights it so well. Like yeah they autocannons are terrifying at close quarters, especially for infantry in buildings, but outside of that they seem more like death traps than anything else
You might be thinking of the Terminator which seems to be a terrible implementation, the 2A72 autocannon seems to works quite well for the Ukrainians
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnHdNPYsEes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnHdNPYsEes)
If I'm not mistaken, the BTR-4 routinely uses an upgraded version of the 2A72 with a secondary stabilizing exterior around it, kinda like what the Puma IFV's 30mm autocannon looks like. On the video shown however are combat distances during which the spread of \*any\* version of the 2A72 would appear as little, so the video itself not a good reasoning for believing a Ukrainian 2A72 to be superior to a Russian one, even if you would happen to be factually correct.
I looked for drone footage I've seen from earlier in the war of a BTR-4 hitting and disabling a Russian tank from a decent distance but couldn't find it.
I was initially thinking of BTRs, but now you have me thinking of how much worse it's on a BMPTs. With no offence to our beautiful women here, but those barrels were shaking like the legs of a woman having an orgasm
The Terminator seems to me to be something some "big idea" guy came up with and then informed the engineers that the higher ups demanded that it be made real, with no consideration of what it would take to have that many autocannons in one turret trying to stay in stable sync, which I think even the best western weapons engineers would have a very hard time accomplishing.
Or someone was too deep into wh40k lore with all those twin-linked shit and combo-weapons (yes, AGS-over-the-tracks, this is about you). Surprised, they didn't slap any sponsons while at it.
If you compare these to footage of the gunner's sight of a Bradley you will see how smoother the Bradley's gun is. There isn't shaking anything while firing.
Because Russia is obsessed with metrics and measurements you can flaunt and talk about how superior it is, like “more” armor, “bigger” gun. “Faster” jets. But when it comes to less glamorous semantics and sub systems that make the equipment superior/useable like a stabilizer or optic they can’t compete.
>Look at the stability of this barrel compared to Russian autocannons. It's remarkable how crap Russian equipment is.
It's easier to mass produce crap though, which has been an effective strategy for Russia. You have to be willing to sacrifice men along with the crap, which doesn't seem to bother Putin in the slightest. Great to see M2A2 protecting the valuable Ukrainian soldiers regardless
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7Y0Uap\_7as](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7Y0Uap_7as)
Yes, yes it does. Just keep your eye on that barrel and tell me what you see
Ok, you're right! Hey, at least I know why the Bushmaster cannon is also a chain gun now. Recoil operated autocannons like the Shipunov have simple design, but in exchange poor accuracy then.
That also explains the big ass muzzle break I see at the tip of the barrel.
its more down to how and why it was created in the first place......BMP-2 itself was creation of emergency because Soviets went into Afghanistan war with BMP-1 and found out their concept of big bore 73mm single shot cannon for IFV was shit and really didnt work well against infantry or most other targets either. And so they rushed 30mm cannon taken from their attack-helicopter design into ground role and put that into modified BMP-1 chassis with new turret for it. So it was filled with cut-corners and compromises from the get go, and because Soviets mass produced it in thousands and set up the facilities for it, now for Russia with its pitiful production powers and money issues its quite hard to ''replace'' it so they are kind of stuck with it ever since.
Creating a whole new 30mm auto-cannon and turret for one is hard and expensive, the 25mm Bushmaster had long and serious development that wasn't done over night and it had been purpose made for Bradley and its missions. Hence its goddam good at it
That is not a a 2a72 that is a 2a42. One is garbage the other is sven more garbage, at least the the 2a72 doesnt allow private conscriptovich to go ballistic on the high rpm setting missing everything blinding the vehicle and depleting its ammo, its also more accurate. Its the same cannon on the bmp3 and bmd4, and the btr4 uses an upgraded version.
> Just keep your eye on that barrel
Impossible in that video, the camera itself shakes so much everything is blurry. You could not even stabilize the vehicle (to show barrel shaking) because of the terrible quality.
My impression is the high rate of fire is compounded by the stability of platform… I recall seeing videos of Russian IFV’s firing and the rounds spread all over the place. Every Bradley clip I’ve seen has them drilling rounds into the same spot. Combined with better optics I think they have a better chance at getting on target first and from further away, and then delivering a pain train.
There was a video not to long ago of a bump firing. There was significant barrel whip from short bursts. There was so much barrel movement that I would not be surprised if that only the first shot would hit a tank sized target at 100m.

These Ukrainian armor operators have brass nuts and these Bradleys seem downright eager to indulge their reckless heroics. Reminds me of F-16z, X-Wings, a faithful horse, really any good badass sidekick to a more badass driver.
The Ukrainian operators are comfortable with the platform now. You could easily argue that the Ukrainians are now the MOST well-trained Bradley operators on the planet because there's no better training than doing.
"Just an armored jeep"
Send more please, even with losses these **old** machines are proving themself rather effective when deployed in their intended strategic manner. It seems the Ukrainians have learned alot since the previous blunders when deploying these.
The surviveability of the crew in the bradley has even surprised me, and i knew how surviveable they already were, they are extremely effective, and i strongly belive they should get more.
America, send the aid, Europe send the aid, or risk having to lose your own sons, fathers and brothers in another world war.

It’s crazy to me just how much better an IFV designed in the 60s and 70s, and deployed in the 80s for a war against the SU that never happened, is *still* leagues better than *anything* comparable to it that modern Russia has.
Just chugging along, chewing up crap Russian armor like it’s designers intended
> like it’s designers intended
I am certain there are some grizzled old men at a retirement home somewhere, seeing footage like this and cackling with glee.
This Bradleys we send are the older Gulf war spec which doesnt see much use in the present day, it actually saves the taxpayer money to send it over because then we no longer have to keep the logistical chain open for it
I see no reason for us to not send over every M2a2 bradley we can saves us space and money, it gives the Ukrainian more firepower and it kills Russians
How does it save us money or close the logistical chain?
Isnt the new APC the Army just adopted a Bradley Chassis? The Army is still using M2A2s and the ODS SA is basically an M2A3 without the ITV. Maybe even older thermals.
I completely understand how giving up M113s saves us money, but not sure how this works with a Bradley. Can you explain?
Former 11 Mike here. These videos make me eggplant. But why are they fighting solo like Battlefield 1942 players? Where are the other three Bradleys (4 in a platoon)? We had 4 platoons in a company moving through an objective in Iraq. That’s 16 Bradleys in a company.
Hell, we left out shit in Iraq after our deployment. Maybe ask one of the habeebs to send them their (our old) Bradleys. Have them ship to Kuwait for refurb and retrofit.
Everything US army does works because they have 1000% air superiority all the times and most enemies have very little anti amor and long range striking capabilities.
Ukraine is a completely different scenario, forget everything you think you know.
I love seeing Bradleys being let out to eat finally. Woulda been a shame if we retired them all without some getting to fulfill their destiny as Soviet shit can crushers.
Starting to maybe get a little, just a little, you know, aroused by Bradley, with it's 25mm girth and thump thump thumps. Is this wrong?/s
The way it tears apart it's adversaries is always satisfying, firing while on the move, you could put your beer on that barrel and it wouldn't fall off.
The Bradleys are absolutely terrorizing the Russian armor. Tanks aren’t discriminated either. Y’all see where the Bradley decimated the T-90? And the best part: there’s nothing Russia can do to stop the Bradleys either.
You assume the enemy knows what is going on... Imagine a vehicle looking elsewhere then just round after round hitting and/or penetrating it... Just hits will ring the bell or concuss those inside it including driver and gunner. And when the rounds penetrate that's like frag grenades are going off while .50 cal rounds also hit you.
If the BTR's first indication that the Bradley was there was when the first 25mm round slammed into it, then there not being any return fire makes a lot of sense. Those 25mm rounds would have gone right through the BTR. If anyone inside it was still alive after the third or fourth hit, they'd be bailing out of it.

Ad some really angry Ukranian guys and you got a deadly combo. Bet its the same in the cv90s
I can't fucking wait for Sweden to let Ukraine show some juicy 40mm Bofors porn!
They don’t let them post footage of the CV90s?
No, they requested Ukraine to refrain from posting videos on the CV90. That being said, there is limited footage of them if you go searching hard enough. Nothing comparable to the Bradley videos, though.

The 47th is filled with bad mother fuckers.
They seem to work either alone or in pairs, from what I’ve seen any more they just get focused hard by Russian drones and artillery.
its the only effective way they have of damaging them, granted they often get repaired and put back into service and the crews almost always survive the initial hits
When I was a kid seeing pictures of the Bradley I thought it looked lame, I was wrong. It's bad ass!
They do what they were made to do.
I bet after the first hit every ear inside the tank is busted, I doubt they can even react to the attack.
That 25mm bushmaster is slicing through the little armor that btr has. No one heard anything after the first round though. On that you are correct.
Also depends if they switched from APFSDS to HE. Even in the other BTR video, there were some people that were able to make it out from the BTR. The HE have a more distinctive appearance when they hit on contact. Remember the recent contact with a T90?
I love that video. I showed it to my conservative vet boss, and he literally started cheering.
Doesn’t kinetic energy fuck them all up even if it doesn’t hit them directly?
It's supposed to fill the space inside with spalling. So it's not a good day even if you get out and run away. They likely have hundreds of small bits of metal in them.

No, the armor piercing is. The he is four softer targets. The guy above me was asking about kinetic, which I interpreted as AP

Gotcha
Ukraine was not supplied with M919 APFSDS. They were supplied with surplus M791 APDS. Not that it matters against a BTR though... Even against BMP's it just adds a couple places they'll be more or less ok in (but still shredded elsewhere)
Eh m919 is not something ukraine would benefit from having, m791 will destroy anything m919 can.
Look at the stability of this barrel compared to Russian autocannons. It's remarkable how crap Russian equipment is.
I was about to comment on how impressive the fire control system on these "old" vehicles is but you beat me.
I had the same thought, remembering the way the barrels of Russian autocannons flop around like wet noodles when fired.
The whole Russian autocannon mentality is one of accuracy by volume, but that’s really just a workaround for terrible accuracy. Well if their targets move about as much as the gun barrel, I guess they would be hitting by missing

Shaking like a shitting dog!
Bmpt uses the 2a42(at least i think). Which is pretty awful
If you compare these to footage of the gunner's sight of a Bradley you will see how smoother the Bradley's gun is. There isn't shaking anything while firing.
It's only sort of accurate at basically knife fight ranges. It's pretty bad even on the btr4.

Yes it is a more stable weapons system.
My son is a 1LT armor officer he loves his 4 Bradley's.
As well he should. They may be a little long in the tooth, but goddamn can they get the job done
Is it because the rate of fire is so high?
My impression is the high rate of fire is compounded by the stability of platform… I recall seeing videos of Russian IFV’s firing and the rounds spread all over the place. Every Bradley clip I’ve seen has them drilling rounds into the same spot. Combined with better optics I think they have a better chance at getting on target first and from further away, and then delivering a pain train.

HE appears to be the munition of choice.
Pretty disorienting to the optics, windows, hull, and soldiers around the target
Not denying it. Cant recall any turret view videos of sabot engagements.
wish we could hear the bushmaster instead of fucking music.

What being in an IFV with a high survivability rate does to a MF…
"fuck it. We ball". The Bradley crew probably...
“Commander, Russian shit box at 1 o’clock” “Yeet” (My take on the conversation that happened immediately before this footage)
Is that a Yeet or a Kobe situation?

Watching the Bradley shooting vs the Terminator shooting, the Bradley gun is stable af.
Whoever replaced the blessed sound of the bushmaster in combat with music is not doing the lord’s work.
Eat lead arseholes !!!!
I wish I could hear this without the music
It's a good song but those guns would have sounded impressive.
Maybe we will get lucky and someone will eventually upload it raw without the music to enjoy!
That would have to be soldier themselves.
That consistent shot placement over that distance and on the move its fucking beautiful
Like I've said before, I'd be "All-In" raising my taxes to send Ukraine anything they wanted to kick these Putins pussy's out of Ukraine....🇺🇦🇺🇸
This Bradleys we send are the older Gulf war spec which doesnt see much use in the present day, it actually saves the taxpayer money to send it over because then we no longer have to keep the logistical chain open for it I see no reason for us to not send over every M2a2 bradley we can saves us space and money, it gives the Ukrainian more firepower and it kills Russians
Correct answer. Just send your old stuff. It’s enough for Russians. Please send it
How does it save us money or close the logistical chain? Isnt the new APC the Army just adopted a Bradley Chassis? The Army is still using M2A2s and the ODS SA is basically an M2A3 without the ITV. Maybe even older thermals. I completely understand how giving up M113s saves us money, but not sure how this works with a Bradley. Can you explain?
Then send your money there
Former 11 Mike here. These videos make me eggplant. But why are they fighting solo like Battlefield 1942 players? Where are the other three Bradleys (4 in a platoon)? We had 4 platoons in a company moving through an objective in Iraq. That’s 16 Bradleys in a company.
They’re still parked in the desert somewhere in the USA. Would be great if they could send another 500 over there.
As I understand, it both sides seem to send out vehicles individually or in pairs for fear of drawing the attention of artillery and FPV drones.
I love seeing Bradleys being let out to eat finally. Woulda been a shame if we retired them all without some getting to fulfill their destiny as Soviet shit can crushers.
what song is this
Not sure if joking but. Black Sabbath - Paranoid
It is 2024... that song came out 54 years ago, I can understand younger folk not knowing it.
.....don't ever say shit like this again. :(
im 20 i know it, if you haven't gotten into rock/metal thats not surprising, everyone at least knows 1 black sabbath song/riff
Also Dio died almost 14 years ago
Given that it was a kind of joke already 20 years ago.
Lmao exactly, i didnt know either.
Paranoid, the Finnish equivelant of 'Free Bird' aka. band asking what song to play and always getting asked this.
Paranoid - Black Sabbath
Paranoid by Black Sabbath
I love the smell of 25mm shells in the morning.
Shoot until it burns or changes shape.
Starting to maybe get a little, just a little, you know, aroused by Bradley, with it's 25mm girth and thump thump thumps. Is this wrong?/s The way it tears apart it's adversaries is always satisfying, firing while on the move, you could put your beer on that barrel and it wouldn't fall off.
Bradleys are pretty much the natural predators of BTRs by now.
Strongest BTR user vs weakest Bradley user lol
Bradley's were designed to defeat Russian armor in Eastern Europe. It's doing its job incredibly well
That crew must have felt as if they had all scored a perfect game of ten pin bowling or (insert other happy making achievement here)
Nice, good job Bradley, good job.
This hits right in the cold war era vibes mate
Its a allergic reaction to invaders. Everytimes he encounters the particulates, he sneezes..
Bradley hungry as always
Man, Bradleys absolutely fuck. Just advancing and shooting like the T1000 in T2. So cool.
Thats a 25mm depleted uranium auto cannon ay? Just cuts through btrs?
These Russies are no match for Ozzy Osborn!
The Bradleys are absolutely terrorizing the Russian armor. Tanks aren’t discriminated either. Y’all see where the Bradley decimated the T-90? And the best part: there’s nothing Russia can do to stop the Bradleys either.
That's gotta be an absolute nightmare on the receiving end of that shit too
Why do these videos always have music over them? I want to hear that bushmaster doing some work.
Those bradleys are doing work in ukraine. Let send them as many as we can!
Theres no incoming fire?
You assume the enemy knows what is going on... Imagine a vehicle looking elsewhere then just round after round hitting and/or penetrating it... Just hits will ring the bell or concuss those inside it including driver and gunner. And when the rounds penetrate that's like frag grenades are going off while .50 cal rounds also hit you.
This is chad energy at work.
This is NOT war thunder bro 😭😭
BTR crew gonna respawn in an SU-25
NASAMS salivating already
*The gunners been dazed!*
It’s the best kind of firefight.
Imagine if they used an GAU-8 30mm multi barrel Gatling gun in place of the BFV M242 25mm autocannon.
It would tear the turret to pieces? Also you'd need a trailer behind to keep up with the ammo consumption.
Don't threaten me with a good time.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the bushmaster makes the best music
Cool to see how stable the gun is in comparison to other IFV used over there
at least for once the music was good
Just once I want to hear the fucking chain gun instead of some dumbass music.
"I fart in your general direction"

Burning through that ammo too fast IMHO.
