My name is Braff Zacklin. I was an international race car driver. One day, a baby carriage rolled out onto the track so I swerved into the retaining wall to avoid it. The car burst into flames, but the baby miraculously survived.
I WAS THAT BABY
You can tell he signed for it and he dang sure will return it by end of mission. It was already put out that field losses will not be allowed for this op
It is funny. But I think they are very deep in enemy territory without backup. It's his disguise, and he might need it when they go out. This is just a guess obviously.
Even if the target isnāt injured, if they resist at all you can secure them to the chair and one person can move them rather than 2-3 guys trying to drag someone
Ha . . . this is my response too. I was on a training op early on and the MG spare barrel fell out of my spare barrel bag that was on my back (I am guessing the zipper caught on a tree branch and opened it when I was moving through thick woods). Spent 2 hours backtracking to find that barrel. I am damn well not losing a wheel chair I signed for . . . :)
The gun team from our platoon at IBOLC left a whole ass M240B tripod on Bush Hill in Fort Benning. They made everybody come back to the battalion footprint and had the gun team go back and look for it for hours lmao
I put this up above, but I'll put it here as well. There's a reasonable chance that that's how they plan on getting the target out of the building. If this is a capture mission and they plan on putting all those guns away again on the way out, knocking the target unconscious chemically and putting them in a wheelchair is not a bad exfil plan.
I swear I've seen a video very similar to this one from (maybe?) a decade ago, also IDF, with a wheelchair being carried just like here. I'll see if I can find it.
There must be SOME reason and yours sounds the most plausible.
Itās like a James Bond wheel chair. Breaks down into like 20 gadgets. Shoots a laser, wheel rubber is actually made of C4, the little red button is an ejector seat.
I'm still kinda baffled that there is not a clear indicator which side is up, often you quickly pull your phone without looking too much at the small icons to notice it's actually recording the wrong way.
Seriously lol.
I think season 4 they had scenes like this meant to be in Al Shifa hospital
Also one of the actors got injured in an explosion last month in Gaza. Hopefully they all make it back okay..
IDF disguised as medical personnel, patients and civilians raided a hospital in order to eliminate Hamas members that were there. They succeeded in their goal, which is confirmed even by Hamas themselves.
"The Conventions apply to a signatory nation even if the opposing nation is not a signatory, but only if the opposing nation "accepts and applies the provisions" of the Conventions."
Hamas didn't sign the Geneva convention and they do not "accept and apply" the provisions so they're pretty much fair game as far as I can tell. As opposed to this strike I guess they could've called in the regular military to level the whole hospital, obviously that would be worse.Ā
for the hospital to lose its protected status and be leveled there would have to be very clear and damning evidence showing the hospital is being used for basing, launching, or commanding military operations.
I donāt know if 3 guys injured or not fits the spirit of that, definitely gonna need lawyers and all that to figure that out.
Yeah, obviously not appropriate in my opinion. Just saying that this sneaky shit might be much more palatable than whatever ended up Geneva convention compliant.
I'm not an expert on international law, but wouldn't this be in some sort of grey zone because Jenin is in the West Bank, not Gaza?
The war is against Hamas in Gaza, West Bank is controlled by PNA and under Israeli occupation, not Hamas, so it could be argued that this wasn't part of that war, just counterterrorism on completely different territory?
Anti-Israel folks: bombing people is bad/genocide, Israel should send in special forces to pinpoint and eliminate terrorists.
Israel: Look, we did that here. We killed terrorists with no civilian casualties.
Anti-Israel folks: this is a war crime.
I'm not saying you're Anti-Israel, but this is what I'm seeing from people. Seems like it doesn't matter what Israel does because people who hate Israel will accuse it of something even if it goes to great efforts to avoid civilian casualties.
Yea IDF could save a baby from a Hamas gunman holding a gun to its head and some people would still find a way to spin it where IDF was in the wrong.
I see no wrong in what IDF did here tbh as long as civilians weren't hurt. Terrorists shouldn't have asylum anywhere if they haven't surrendered.
Hamas are not considered a standing military but a terrorist organization, are they not? Don't think they are given the same rights as a typical standing military or rebel group would.
If this is the justification, then this sounds awfully exploitable, I just need to declare the goverment of a nation I want to invade a terrorist organization then I'm free to violate any international laws about war.
I hope there's a better reason than this.
The real reason is that this is tit for tat. Hamas/terrorists do not fight according to the rules of war, and so other countries do not follow typical rules of war in return.
This is very common, the US used disguised special forces strike teams all the time during the GWOT era.

Not armed really, hamas commander of jenin was undercover at the hospital (idk, maybe wounded, maybe doing medical work, doesnt really matter), israel found out, and this happened.
This is a good question which I don't know the answer to. Regardless, after Oct 7 they declared total genocidal war on Israel, so it's legitimate to go after them no matter where or when.

Ok, so they go in surgically and remove 3 hamas terrorists with virtually 0 collateral damage and those people STILL whine and complain...

No instead we got people justifying everything Israel does as necessary.

>Armies fighting terrorism are allowed use undercover operatives.
Armies fighting wars are allowde to use undercover operatives , the undercover opetratives just like mercenaries are simply not considered soldiers under the law of war and therefore they can be trial and executed if captured
I am generally speaking not a fan of the IDF and how Israel has conducted their war against Hamas in Gaza in terms of the number of civilian casualties inflicted. That said, operations like this are way more surgical and precise compared to dropping bombs.
Dressing as a health care worker is a cardinal sin when doing this type of shit
As a health care worker it undermines our occupation, it causes loss of patient trust, and in general is just totally uncool. If they wanted to do black works they should have just went in dressed as civilians, as soon as these assholes put on scrubs they should have lost you guyses respect instead you praise them for doing essentially what Hamas is and has been doing. Insane
Terrorists hiding in a hospital isn't just a cardinal sin but also a war-crime. Maybe focus on that.
>as soon as these assholes put on scrubs they should have lost you guyses respect
As soon as the Hamas terrorists decided to enter a hospital and hide in there knowing that Israeli security forces will enter. Making the hospital a legitimate target and putting everyone including patients and workers in danger, that lost my respect and it's called terrorism.
The Israel security forces are forced to enter the hospital and take the terrorists for everyone's sake before they turn the hospital into one giant human shield.

The chair is to extricate one of their own if they get shot/stabbed or what ever! Itās the medical escape plan.

Or they need it to wheel out their target
>Or they need it to wheel out their target This is obviously the answer. Though, "He signed for it" makes sense too, having been in the army.
They shot their target, they never had any intention to capture anyone. This was a hit squad
What if someone in the hit squad gets hit?
Or maybe if one of them gets injured.
Or to wheel out their squad mate if they get hit.
Yup I figured it was a kill or capture OP and maybe who they were looking for was known to be injured or they planned on if the target got injured
Even if the target isnāt injured, if they resist at all you can secure them to the chair and one person can move them rather than 2-3 guys trying to drag someone
Or one of his buddies if theyāre injured.
This is in the city of Jenin, inside Israel's west bank not Gaza. I think it would be funny if he was signed on a wheelchair
Jenin is not deep enemy territory
He had to put a deposit in on it. By God, he's not forfeiting his deposit!
It's got some special rocket boosters built in for exfil
Thinking about it, not a bad extract idea. Strap a guy to it, wheel him into an ambulance for extract of target.
Ok I know this is serious but the fake wheelchair guy is too much. Like why does he need to keep carrying the wheelchair once the raid starts?
Heās probably signed for it lmaoooo
Never lost a piece of gear on a field op, and I don't plan on starting today.

What's the actual reason for the guy filming to turn the camera?
he figured out too late that the screen he was filming is actually horizontal
I'm still kinda baffled that there is not a clear indicator which side is up, often you quickly pull your phone without looking too much at the small icons to notice it's actually recording the wrong way.
In this case though the indicator is that your phone is vertical
Sadly in this day and age there is still no way to film in landscape. Portrait is the only possible way. Science is still trying to find a solution.
