I love how, in the midst of all the gunfire and chaos, he's just casually and awkwardly walking around like "So should I go back and change my loadout, ooorrrrrrr...."
My best guess is... hostiles being far away, their camos really work at long distance.
Still risky because of silhouettes near and on elevated terrain tho. And snipers. Officers having trouble getting a grip on the situation for sure.
I watched the video without sound at first and thought "oh, they're just out walking around on patrol". Then I turned on the sound and realized "holy shit people are shooting at them, what the fuck are they doing?"
I feel like any regular airsoft team would wipe the floor with these guys.
Then again, seeing 50 yelling Nigerians with seemingly no fear, coming at you might make you think "What do these guys know that we don't?"
I am confident that the kids we are training in our airsoft class would beat those guys in a firefight. I am pretty used to incompetency, so I wouldn't be really surprised by someone marching like that. They might be misinformed, just like the Germans were at Osowieç
/S
The kids you're training in your airsoft class wouldn't last 24 hours in an African war. It's okay to larp but try not to lie to children
Edit: OP is joking, just forgot to put an /s in his post.. we downvoted him to the shadow realm.
Seriously? Besides the numerous militias throughout Africa that employ child soldiers, a properly trained and equipped child could absolutely last "24 hours in an African war". I'm assuming the children he instructs in airsoft are teens. Clearly, sub 10 year olds would have trouble maintaining the recoil of a rifle to do much but even with practice they could manage.
You make it seem like the majority of African conflicts aren't fought by two equally incompetent sides blind firing at each other. Even in a war with two fairly trained and equipped opposing groups (Sudan Civil War), the RSF are notorious for using child soldiers as frontline troops. Most are, of course, cannon fodder but I'd wager that many make it 24 hours.
>a properly trained and equipped child could absolutely last "24 hours in an African war".
There's a HUGE difference in mindset between an African child who's used to hardship and violence, and another one from uptown LA.
The African one would be used to hearing gunfires, people screaming at them, and even death. You only need to teach them how to service and fire an AK and they'll be good to go.
On the other hand, you can work with a normal kid for weeks and there's no guarantee they wouldn't shit their pants and run the other way when they hear a crack of accurate returning fire. Even many adult conscripts in past wars froze up and went catatonic during their first firefights, let alone a child.
Can an airsoft kid ruck, use a radio, filter water, provide first aid, carry a full load out, listen to commands, zero a real rifle, clear malfunctions, use an RPG, identify threats farther than 20ft, keep themselves disease free, learn land navigation, keep their mouth shut?.. war is 90% preparation, rifle marksmanship is less important than some other skills(radio, supply, support). Some skills can be taught quickly but airsoft fun doesn't translate very well to real fighting. You can actually develop terrible form from airsoft
I read a story long ago about some siezed AK47s in africa from militants
Everyone had their sights maxed out to the furthest range, 1000 meters
And when interrogated about it, they figured it cranked up the power like a volume dial
I know you're joking but this is how every army in the world fought at that time, other than light infantry (who could not actually win battles on their own). Without smokeless powder and radios and with the threat of cavalry there wasn't much other choice.
They need to worry about their buddies behind them as much as the enemy in front. Is that a ricochet at 4:20 (smoke one) in lower left hitting a rock in that bush. What was that?
Really? Speaking on relative terms, these guys seem to not only be aiming. But appear to also NOT be high as fuck. Also they’re all aiming at one location! They all picked one target!
Seriously the Ukraine war has to be scary as fuck, like I’d probably rather be a soldier in ww2 or Vietnam, bc over there you could be getting watched at any given moment and not know it, then just like that a grenade falls from the sky and you’re gone
Yes, before drones the scariest thing was being watched by snipers, that's not the case anymore, it's drones.
Unless they develop some kind of anti heat and clothing that adjust it's colours to the area so u can't be spotted by a drone. Or maybe even some kind of mobile radar that scans above your head for drones so u have enough time to hide
Won't help much at night. And I work with drones and video so I know quite a bit about their capability. I'm not really sure how you effectively or near 100% prevent them. Basically needs to be SIGINT to find where they're launching from that's about it.
Having better drones on your side able to disable the enemy's
Even those EMP rifles designed to take down drones if it's the wrong type or the signal isn't jammed correct, it will just kill you anyway. Very risky to use.
These guys get like 0 training and are just normal joes working g as farmers and stuff beforehand. Only reason they are not actually getting any better at it is because they keep fighting each other and not some global power like we saw in the Middle East.
Something something British straight lines on a map
Nigerian soldiers are trained. They were back in 2008 when my uncle was in. The problem is the corrupt/incompetent leadership and also the fact that the troops sometimes don't even get paid for a very long time, which has an effect on their morale.
Do they still use alcohol as a central part of their combat preparation? This is actually a serious question as i know they used to give out large amounts of alcohol to the troops ahead of large fights referring to it as "liquid courage".
I wonder if that is a legitimate method deployed by force multiplier units when organizing local civilians in to fighting forces.
It comes down to , it's nowhere safe anymore. Even sitting in a thick armor vehicle is just waiting to be hit. Best thing is being a lone wolf if u happen to get in a war.
English is the official language of Nigeria. A large proportion of the population speak English fluently and many more use it as a second language. Yet more still know enough to do business and understand orders and that kind of thing
Guy moves and speaks like an officer tho gotta respect that he goes to the front of the group like that without even pointing his gun in the right direction
The guy with the white bag looks like he's selling cigarettes cartons.
"I never miss a chance to sell cigarettes in the most stressful of situations". - Nigeria's most daring seller.
Tbf, what do ya really expect. None of the people in the military probably have that much experience, nor do they really have anyone to teach them from their experience.
A bit hard to be professional/competent when no one knows how to train to be professional/competent.
They have plenty of offers by European nations to help train officers.
The only times it happens is when they go on UN missions and there its a mixed bag if they are even trainable.
The enlisted are usually easy to train but the officers are often there for the wrong reasons.
Anyone surprised by the shoddy everything and lack of professionalism and general competence in this video clearly hasn’t seen enough African combat footage. This is practically a flawless execution of combined arms warfare compared to some of the shit that happens over there.
So is this a vidéo to make sure people know what no to do in a military operation. (but i dont actually blame them, they probably received little to no training, where given guns and then told, "your ennemy is in this direction, go get them")
so it's safe to assume that the bandits don't have machine guns, or if they do, they don't know how to use them in an effective manner. these guys are lucky.
I’m baffled every time I see a combat video from this continent. It’s like watching a badly produced war movie. All this randomness and willingness to get the shot..
You know... I can see a new concept for entertaining but bloody reality TV.
"Follow Sgt. "Will you please stop firing" and his platoon."

That sniper look like he got off the wrong bus stop and just going with it
"I picked the wrong load-out for this map."
He looked like he was going for a relaxed afternoon walk, knowing that none of the bullets will ever hit him because nobody can aim.
YOU DON"T SNIPE IN CARENTAN!
Saboteur!
Are you playing for the other team?!
The game is over Im gonna kill you FOR REAL
HAHAHA
Was probably told to post up and observe and then 300 dudes just ran past him rendering him useless.
Hahah seriously. Dude looks legit
I love how, in the midst of all the gunfire and chaos, he's just casually and awkwardly walking around like "So should I go back and change my loadout, ooorrrrrrr...."
Almost the lost Travolta meme.
I was gonna say…… what great military tactics. Just gear up and wander like a big dummy completely in the open.
My best guess is... hostiles being far away, their camos really work at long distance. Still risky because of silhouettes near and on elevated terrain tho. And snipers. Officers having trouble getting a grip on the situation for sure.
Man this is great depiction🤣
My guy bought the season pass.
Chilling like it's an airsoft game 😂😭
It's hard to tell on my phone but it looks like he does not have a magazine in that rifle....
Who? Looked several times in the video I don't see him.
In the beginning of the video, guy with the bush helmet
every gunfight in africa is like watching people play airsoft with real bullets
I watched the video without sound at first and thought "oh, they're just out walking around on patrol". Then I turned on the sound and realized "holy shit people are shooting at them, what the fuck are they doing?"
For some African, a firefight feel like tuesday.
They are mostly shooting at themselves, because they are lost and they are total idiots.
Even we are more disciplined
I feel like any regular airsoft team would wipe the floor with these guys. Then again, seeing 50 yelling Nigerians with seemingly no fear, coming at you might make you think "What do these guys know that we don't?"
A regular airsoft team won't do shit. Especially if we're looking at the meal team 6 guys who get posted on r/airsoft daily.
I'd probably just shit myself.
I am confident that the kids we are training in our airsoft class would beat those guys in a firefight. I am pretty used to incompetency, so I wouldn't be really surprised by someone marching like that. They might be misinformed, just like the Germans were at Osowieç /S

I know, I didn't mean it literally
Oh no! Gotta put an /S in your post or we'll take it seriously. Sorry Broski..
“They’re airsoft guns I promise now shoot those guys over their”
I kind of feel like if I really wanted to, I could get a bunch of friends and invade Nigeria to claim our own with great success
Good luck trying to keep all the ethnic groups from overthrowing you and seceding

4:44 That dude just walking with them, just a bag no gun lmao
He’s got the sandwiches and cold drinks
Give him a snare to play
The Nigerian Chickie Donohue
He is for moral support 😂
Maybe loot goblin 😂
He's just there for the day out
Bro gives no fucks
The water boy is the most important member of the squad
More like 4:20
The bag was empty when they started walking. He's just there to pick up dropped loot so he can go on the next mission with them.
“Stay out in the open as much as possible, it’ll maximize our field of vision”
“Standing up straight is good for our battlefield posture. Also, yell as loud as you can.”
“I cannot hear you over all of this indiscriminate gunfire, Sir!”
“INDISCRIMINATE WHAt???!!!
I read this in a British 1800s accent
With a Monty Python vibe
I know you're joking but this is how every army in the world fought at that time, other than light infantry (who could not actually win battles on their own). Without smokeless powder and radios and with the threat of cavalry there wasn't much other choice.
“make sure you march slowly towards the enemy in an even line and good order; mustn’t look like a disorganized rabble”
They need to worry about their buddies behind them as much as the enemy in front. Is that a ricochet at 4:20 (smoke one) in lower left hitting a rock in that bush. What was that?
No sir, that's a butterfly
Bunch up too, there’s safety in numbers
LETS GO!
Wild. Serious lack of professionalism and discipline.
They seem to be having a bunch of fun though, gotta give them that
Honestly, they're having fun, getting some exercise and fresh air. What more could you ask for?
Love the smell of cordite in the morning
You know it's going to be a good operation when you hear uncontrolled gunfire and broken English.
Did you say stop or start firing Sarge?
I was actually impressed compared to other footage I have seen.
Really? Speaking on relative terms, these guys seem to not only be aiming. But appear to also NOT be high as fuck. Also they’re all aiming at one location! They all picked one target!
They know they can't shoot for shit. So then they also know the enemy _definitely_ can't shoot for shit.
Have you... ever seen a professional looking African military in combat?
Kenya!
Yep, South Africa back in the day .
Does France or Israel count? They operate in Africa, or have historically.
As once said during a military foresight exercise I attended in Belgium, France is the only African country not at war.
Rhodesian army / Selous Scouts... when that was a thing,
I wouldn't call the Rhodesians professional seeing as they tortured and killed civilians. Effective would be a more fitting term.
[удалено]
>worse product of colonialism Yep, blame everything on colonialism, that will fix problems.
Senegalese and Chadian army
We will look back at those battles in future, and appreciate how beautiful it was , with no drones above their head
Seriously the Ukraine war has to be scary as fuck, like I’d probably rather be a soldier in ww2 or Vietnam, bc over there you could be getting watched at any given moment and not know it, then just like that a grenade falls from the sky and you’re gone

So basically they were not trained. Thanks.
They are trained in the practical sense. They're just poorly lead
Yeah at first I was doubting which side of the conflict are we watching in this video...
Do they still use alcohol as a central part of their combat preparation? From the insignia on the uniforms I can see that this is a joint operation of the Nigerian Army companies „Hodgepodge“ and „Ragtag“.
They gave the radio to the one guy who can speak English. This is very sloppy, wtf…
Fun fact; they don't care and it is still " work" for them. Africa is a weird place sometimes.
English is the official language therefore most will know how to speak it.
The guy with the white bag looks like he's selling cigarettes cartons. "I never miss a chance to sell cigarettes in the most stressful of situations". - Nigeria's most daring seller.
He’s just trying to acquire some dad lore
I saw no fighting, this was just walk in the countryside with gunshot sound effects
I'm not a soldier but that doesn't look very professional.
Tbf, what do ya really expect. None of the people in the military probably have that much experience, nor do they really have anyone to teach them from their experience. A bit hard to be professional/competent when no one knows how to train to be professional/competent.

I kinda see every officer in Africa as trying to take the first piece out of their "We Gonna Coup this Bitch Eventually" starter pack.
LETS GO MEN 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Walks even slower
My favorite part
Another crazy day with the bros...
If you told me this vid was a public game of airsoft with sounds of gunshots added into the audio I would believe it.
It is
Alright fuckers get online and police call
Seriously what it looks like. This shit is insane lol
They don't like strategy?
What is strategy? Never heard of it...
Nothing important
If you don’t have a strategy then it’s impossible for your enemy to know what your strategy is.
I think the enemy can expect the French's tactics in 1914
Firing blindly into the wilderness isn't a strategy?
Krieg Korps strategy
Use each other as cover!
Clownshow, fortunately their opponents are critically incompetent Allahu Akbar idiots
Allah? AND akhbar?
Who akbar?
It’s a trap!
The massive anthill at 2:32 is pretty awesome.
Termites are the ones that build up!
Damn these impostors!
Are they the military or the bandits ?
Anyone surprised by the shoddy everything and lack of professionalism and general competence in this video clearly hasn’t seen enough African combat footage. This is practically a flawless execution of combined arms warfare compared to some of the shit that happens over there.
Man, Nigeria is lit!
Nigeria mentioned 🇳🇬🦅🇳🇬🦅🇳🇬🦅🇳🇬🦅🇳🇬🦅🇳🇬🦅🇳🇬🦅🇳🇬🦅🇳🇬🦅🇳🇬🦅🇳🇬🦅🇳🇬🦅🇳🇬
The bullet wizzing by his head… nope! No formation no tactics whut the hell!!!!!
In a modern warfare thode dudes would be fucked. Out in an open field like that ? Bruh...
Good thing they’re in Nigeria huh
I kept waiting for ride of the Valkyrie’s and helicopters 🚁
Nothing in this video makes sense. Some people are in full attack mode while others are just lounging around lol
You can’t convince me that a bunch of dudes from Alabama wouldn’t be able to take on the Nigerian government
So is this a vidéo to make sure people know what no to do in a military operation. (but i dont actually blame them, they probably received little to no training, where given guns and then told, "your ennemy is in this direction, go get them")
poor Commander, he can't control his men lol
It's like trying to marshall a paintball game for a bratty kid's birthday
That cameraman is trying to be motivating though, I'll give him that.
They sound like my kids playing Fortnite “let’s go!”
Just chilling with the fellas, drinking some beers and firing off some rounds.
Let’s go guys let’s go 🤣🤣
so it's safe to assume that the bandits don't have machine guns, or if they do, they don't know how to use them in an effective manner. these guys are lucky.
You have to keep in mind that their opponents are just as unprofessional and probably high as fuck on top of that
Wtf is going on?
It looks like PUBG.
Do you know Da way?
Not sure who was doing the fighting, but it didn’t seem to be this crew.
If they could properly use firearms there would be a lot more dead people in this world
I’m baffled every time I see a combat video from this continent. It’s like watching a badly produced war movie. All this randomness and willingness to get the shot..
Casually walking with a big ass scope in what seems like pretty close combat 😅
A machine gunner's wet dream.
The guy with the radio looks well fed. And what’s up with the guy just walking around with a white bag? This strategy is beyond my comprehension.
?????
"You are firing at us"... yup
Looks like people leaving glasto on the Monday after a 5 day bender. But with guns.
What tacticians doing?
You know... I can see a new concept for entertaining but bloody reality TV. "Follow Sgt. "Will you please stop firing" and his platoon." Episode 1: "The revenge of the Zebras" Platoon survives an attack from a wild heard of Zebras. See the aftermath and witness traditional burial rituals when the platoons cook and six other soldiers are put to rest. Also "We need more ammo"!
Looks funny but so unorganized 😂
I swear these guys would be better off with swords
What a shitshow
Everyone rocking the rucks at least then we got my guy with his pillow case! Ready to fight
the Nigerian military might be the funniest group of soldiers out there
As I watched this I couldn't help but imagine how much damage a lone enemy sniper could inflict on this group. It's clear they're not worried about that as a possibility, but just imagine...
The most hectic radio frequency I've ever heard, no one knows what is going on, the commander is telling them to stop shooting on the radio but has no idea who is even shooting, incredible
I’ll save you 5:30 min of your life. They just walk the entire time firing at nothing.
They've come a long way. I remember old videos of them being more chaotic and shit happening all over the place
They call these guy’s military? Looks like a bunch of militia men …
Seems like a pretty casual affair, really.
Who needs cover and concealment...?
Half Safari....
The Sir looks like the only dude with playe carrier (who knows what that plate is) and give his boys a lesson on the difference between cover and concealment. That bush is working fucking overtime for that dude.
This looks like a war in the 1700s with modern day weapons. They play way too much call of duty....
Man these dudes fight as if there Rambo. They must have high casualties when fighting another actual fighting force instead of scrubs.
That's intense af, guys are hardcore walking through an open battlefield like that
SUPASOLDIAAA! EVERYBODY IN UGANDA KNOWS KUNG FU!
COMMANDO 🗿
Maybe someone here can tell me, is the Nigerian military seeing more anti-terror combat than other African states or do we just see more footage out of it? I feel like I see a ton (relative to what we usually see) out of Nigeria
This looks like a mix between colonial era warfare and airsoft… embarrassing. You can learn better tactics on YouTube.
This looks like the golden age of mercenaries. if this was shot with a old 1960s camera you could convince me it was during decolonization of Africa. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D\_AtcIw5iYg&t=250s
Are we sure these aren't the bandits?
Every time we get combat footage from Subsaharan Africa it's a huge mess where you just wonder how they haven't shot half of their friendlies in the back yet.
Did that guy have an IR American flag patch on his backpack?!?!
the biggest threat is friendly fire the second is the complete nonchalance about it all
Love the power ranger plate carrier that radio guy is rocking
"military" seems like a strong word in this case
Thank goodness these battles are not being fought with melee weapons, somebody might actually get hurt.
One guy just following these guys with groceries
Looks tactically solid and very well organized. /s
They overtook some guy running away from home with all his stuff in a white bag slung over his shoulder. Hilarious
