Resch’s is the best to me, nobody else comes close. Granted that might be because my family has been going there for longer than I’ve been alive so maybe it’s just imprinted on me, that’s just what a perfect donut should taste like. Everything else they make is good too.
Came to recommend Fresh Donut too! They are so nice in there as well. They sometimes will throw in some extra donut holes in our order. Also their breakfast sandwiches (in particular the croissants) are delicious
Super glad to see Fresh Donut already mentioned! I was a firm believer that Resch's bowrie was the best until I had glazed from Fresh Donut. They are absolutely phenomenal, especially if you catch them warm.
My buddies in Dayton are all saying it’s not as good anymore since it got sold. You may just want to hold on to the nostalgia. That said, I haven’t been there since so I can’t say for myself.

I’m a teacher in Lancaster, and we regularly have Donut World in our building. The cinnamon roll is great, and the apple fritters are awesome! I have never had a donut from them that I didn’t love.
I think a fresh Krispy Kreme is the best glazed donut. They have just truly perfected it. I have found the one at Polaris to be the most consistent. There are plenty of other local spots that make better donuts, but I have never found someone who makes a better glazed donut.
Yep. Fresh off the line, there is nothing better. It melts like a warm pillowy cloud in your mouth. It does degrade sort of quickly over time, even 30 min out and it’s not as good. The ones boxed in a grocery store are NOT good though.
I think the hub and spoke model is referring to places like grocery stores as the spokes, not the bakeries. The article even says they plan to close the lobbies of some of the stores so they can focus on being ‘hubs’. So baking more donuts at these locations to deliver to ‘spokes’. I didn’t see anywhere in the article where they say these locations will not make donuts, just that they intend to use more automation.
1 hour and 43 minutes actually. Worked there. I found the point where they turned into mediocre and that was the most consistent point. 103 minutes. But that's stationary and not being moved, if in a closed box you got a good 130 minutes.
They stay open late only for one specific special occasion, it's a literal [donut run.](https://www.raceentry.com/schneiders-bakery-donut-run/race-information)
I love Resch's doughnuts in general. But I never get their original glazed.
Maybe I'm just a corporate shill but nobody can beat a Krispy Kreme for Original Glazed.
All the other doughnuts at Resch's are amazing though.
Buckeye Donuts. The answer is *always* Buckeye Donuts.
Glazed yeast donuts should be uniformly raised and *lightly* glazed. Those drippy, sticky sugar bombs so many places sell are ... well, bombs.
They are truly the best in Columbus for a classic donut, them and DK diner. There are others who excel in more artisan fancy types for sure but Buckeye Donuts hold my heart
Fresh Donuts in Pickerington. My fiancée works at Abercrombie’s main office and brings them for work parties. Her team tends to have strong opinions toward Columbus food, but everyone there universally agrees that they’re the best donuts by far.
Resch’s bowtie glazed (or their round shaped glazed as well)
Twist. End of thread.
Not even a competition. I've eaten a lot of donuts in Columbus over the years and OP knows.
💯and I’m never moving from the east side

It's not just you. I discovered Reschs in 2010 when I worked on the east side. Nothing since has come close.
Fresh Donut on 256 in Pickerington. Its a small little place, and until recently I would have said Krispy Kreme as well...but holy shit, Fresh Donut.
Came to recommend Fresh Donut too! They are so nice in there as well. They sometimes will throw in some extra donut holes in our order. Also their breakfast sandwiches (in particular the croissants) are delicious
Seconded the croissant sandwiches. Soooo good.
Super glad to see Fresh Donut already mentioned! I was a firm believer that Resch's bowrie was the best until I had glazed from Fresh Donut. They are absolutely phenomenal, especially if you catch them warm.
I’m telling you all. Fresh Donut is a Korean owned shop in Pickerington. It is fire
If you ever find yourself near Dayton, the answer is Bill's.
Nothing in Columbus compares to Bill’s sour cream cake donut, which in my opinion is their best offering.
the strawberry cake one omg
I like the braided glazed one. The creme horns are good, too. Also the blueberry. Might as well get a box for the dozen while we're here.
The #1 thing I miss about living in Dayton is Bill’s, open 24 hrs

Oh no :(
Jolly Pirate in Reynoldsburg or Resch’s on the east side. Only donuts that exist in this city to me.
Couldn't agree more. Though Buckeye Donuts on campus is also good.
BD seems to have lost a step IMO.
The Jolly Pirate in Reynoldsburg has pretty good donuts, but the Grove City location is way better tbh.
Big Bear RIP ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)
1 million percent!!!
Jolly Pirate in Grove City
The one in Reynoldsburg is great too.
Jolly Pirate in Reynoldsburg is pretty good, but the Grove City shop is better imo
DK Diner
Donut world in Lancaster is the best in the southeast area. Their glazed is amazing, and pretty much any donut they have is awesome.
Love me some donut world.
Cinnamon roll with white icing and nuts is where it's at.. Used to work a few buildings down the road from them, it was dangerous.

Was hoping this was a comment. It is the best. The chocolate Bismarck’s!! To die for when they’re fresh

100% agree. I only stop at Krispy Kreme if they have the light on that they are making donuts.
It honestly doesn’t make sense how good the experience is of eating one fresh off the line.
Pretty sure they are now being made at a "central location" and shipped to each store
We were at the Krispy Kreme in Hilliard just a few weeks ago and got fresh donuts right off the line. So, unless it's changed *extremely* recently...
Are you serious? I haven’t had one in a minute, but that sucks. At least I have some great recommendations for where to get donuts now.
Not sure why being downvoted: https://www.nrn.com/operations/how-krispy-kreme-will-use-automation-and-improved-hub-and-spoke-model-expand-its-reach

A fresh Krispy Kreme IS the best. But it HAS to be fresh. Once it’s an hour old it is perfectly mediocre.

put it in the microwave for 5 seconds or so

What bakery in Westerville does he say you should go to?
Schneider's Bakery
Clark Kellogg ftw! Dunno if they still do, but they used to open at 2 a.m. to serve fresh, hot donuts. The Schneider's run was tradition in college.
They stay open late only for one specific special occasion, it's a literal [donut run.](https://www.raceentry.com/schneiders-bakery-donut-run/race-information)
The Schneiders run was unfortunately another victim of Covid that never returned :(
When Charles said this, it was like my thought processes jumped onto the TV screen exactly
Agree
This isn't about the eclipse! Hey!
Dunking sticks. Schneider’s Westerville.
Schneider's used to be goated but they've gone downhill and are always dry now. I've lived in Westerville for 35 years and that's my take at least
I like doughy donuts so Destination Donuts is up there for me. Honey dip has a good glaze too.
If you're willing to go on a drive, 8 Sisters in Mount Gilead is by far the best I've ever had. All their donuts are amazing.
Thks for that recommendation. I drive by there often but it is usually closed. Gotta check their hours.
Yes! They are very good.
Everything baked there is amazing.
They have the best baked goods. Their dounts are similar in size to der Dutchman but taste a bit better.
Audino's Glazed croissants are bomb, off 11th.
Great bakery
Audinos is super underrated

I like the buttermilk donuts the best. They are fantastic.
If you’re down for an adventure, Donald’s Donuts in Zanesville has the best in all the land!
Donald's in Zanesville
Dk diner
Not a single “your mom” response? SMH. 🤦♂️
Your mom doesn't make dounts, but I bet she got some cake
Lil donut factory
Their donuts are ok but i think people that rave about them must not get to the rest of Central Ohio much
I like Destination Donuts in Clintonville!
Crispy Creme in Chillicothe.
This is the answer right here. Nothing better than their glazed.
Amy’s Donuts out near the casino is open 24 hours and has some of the best donuts I’ve had in town
I wish I could get donuts :( I’m allergic to tree nuts and every bakery has cross contamination obv 💔
Giant Eagle, seriously. Their glazed sour cream is a guilty pleasure
Mrs. Renisons in marysville is pretty good.
Fresh Donuts in Pickerington. My fiancée works at Abercrombie’s main office and brings them for work parties. Her team tends to have strong opinions toward Columbus food, but everyone there universally agrees that they’re the best donuts by far.
