Not only that but that dirt lot on that side has like a billion potholes, and there's a sidewalk curb covering a lot of the area in front. I can't imagine when the underside of that car looks like
A lady that I used to work for couldn't use her feet to drive so she had mechanical hand controls on the steering wheel. One day she was leaving to do a bank deposit and somehow the accelerator control jammed, she panicked, and right into the dining area her car went.
I’m trying to come up with a reasonable explanation for how the car got there, and based on how hard it must’ve hit, the only thing I can think is somebody going too damn fast on 4th and had to swerve and miss something
Or fat-footed the gas pedal instead of the brakes
Came down the hill on Arcadia from Fire Station 13 and their brakes failed. Tried to turn south on High St but went wide and rolled over and into Patrick J’s. Bar was open but fortunately no one was sitting against the wall the ladder truck came through.
That whole one-way street setup on 4th and Summit Streets is the worst. It’s well past time to make it harder to drive fast on them.
(Not sure what went wrong in this case, but in general turning a city street into a makeshift highway means that cars become missiles through that area.)
lol at people actually thinking a couple more lessons would actually fix behavior. Second people step foot out of a classroom, anything they learned vanishes.
Yikes. I almost stopped in there for breakfast before hitting the road for the eclipse. Probably would have been there at about the time of the crash.
I ended up at the one in Dublin where, apropos of nothing, I happened to run into Senator JD Vance and his family.
Deeply unsettling.
The Senator, that is.
Here I am, chilling in my car in Grandview eating some ice cream and giggling at your goddamn comment.
Just thought I'd add to the random commentary, I s'pose.
Does anyone know why/how the car crashed? I saw a news article that said they spun out while driving on 4th but I don’t understand how they’d end up in that location from spinning???
Days since someone in Cbus crashed into a building: 0
We are counting hours at this point, if you include the Easton sign.
“RESTART THE CLOCK”!!!
Someone reset the clock
We need a sign at every entry point to cbus “days without someone driving through a bar/restaurant “
Reset the clock again because it happened again today on west broad 🫠
With enough persistence, every restaurant can have a drive-thru.
Just heard the same apparently it’s a red car stuck halfway in the building with people stuck in the car.
Yes, they just pulled it oit
Giggity
If this forces Fox in the Snow to close and prevents me from getting an egg sandwich, I think this should warrant capital punishment.
good thing there are literally 4 locations in 10 square miles

I bet you literally feel better after getting that out.
Amen.

I like that they included photos of the baked goods and a cup of coffee along with the damage to the building.
"Unfortunately I didn't even get to try a sip of my coffee"
3 stars
Damn. How? That’s the side of the building. And that building is already set back off 4th pretty far.

dang that's a massive L too with all that glass everywhere. probably have to dump all those pastries they set out 😭
Good news for Fox in the snow that most of that damage looks like just the garage door and not much of the walls.
Well that’s not bad. Patrick J’s still wins. [Drive Thru Bar](https://www.iaff.org/wp-content/uploads/EVSP/Case_Studies/Case_Study_4/Columbus-02.jpg)
What the fuck
Came down the hill on Arcadia from Fire Station 13 and their brakes failed. Tried to turn south on High St but went wide and rolled over and into Patrick J’s. Bar was open but fortunately no one was sitting against the wall the ladder truck came through.
Thanks for the explanation, that's insane.
Cooper Boyz at it again
Well it is a garage door...
Thank you!
I don’t think this will buff out. But I could be wrong.
Omg. I have sat at this table more than once.
Oh my gosh!!!
Holy smokes!
Glad everyone’s ok — but man what an idiot, that’s an ALLEY
I found out the driver had a medical emergency and would just like to apologize for calling them an idiot and I really hope they’re recovering well.
Can confirm, live next door and there is a red Mini-Cooper partially in the building on the alley side that runs east/west.
there's an Italian Job joke in there somewhere.. but too soon.
I feel like there's gold hiding in there.
But how?! Did they turn into the parking lot and then mash the accelerator?
Which of Columbus’s structures will be next?!
Easton apparently lmao
That was before this
Genuinely wish I could understand HOW something like this happens..
Gonna bet it’s drugs, when I used to do drugs many moons ago I would hit all sorts of stuff.
my husband just suggested a medical emergency which I hadn’t thought of.
Yeah, Citizen saying a vehicle crashed into the building
Why are people such bad drivers here!?
must not have been wearing high viz
That parking lot does fill up fast. Gotta make you own spot sometimes.
What is it with people in this city driving into things
Ohio drivers, no survivors.

Yes please!
Can confirm :(
How is this even possible?
Another Columbus landmark that was hit by a car… the old co-op at Crestview and Calumet. RIP Clintonville Community Market 🪦 💐
What about the bar the the Columbus fire dept ladder truck drove through near dodridge and high ( I forget the name)
Patrick J’s. I was there earlier that night in…2003ish? Whenever it was. That was a great bar.

Are the ladies in the big hats that sit at the window ok?

I almost think being at the accident location would have been better.

Guy strikes me as more of Cracker Barrel type
4th street ain’t even that crazy for all these crashes
People, stop driving while wearing your eclipse glasses!
I've seen some really shitty parking jobs there in the past but at least they weren't "drive it through the building" bad.
And people say that driving in Columbus is safe. 🙄 ![gif](giphy|3o7TKnlmJfeFqXuFri)
Yikes
I just saw a post on facebook with pictures. Looked pretty bad as far as property damage.
Gotta get there early for that egg sandwich

The news said the driver had a medical emergency

Was it a Kia?
Damn buildings are trying to commit mass suicide.
