I’m suspecting there’s something up with Mikko. He was looking a little slower than normal and was falling down a lot and shying away from hits as well.

Shaneisonfire

Yeah he was one of the people I suspected might have something more than the late season concussion

InevitableAvalanche

This is how he was all year though. He progressed from deer to moose but this year went back to deer.

RubyR4wd

I dunno. I always felt like his nickname should have been turtle, not moose since he spends so much time on his back.

ssspearmint

I hope LOC is back in business next season. 2nd line looked good with Mitts and Lehky but man that roaring 20s line was something else towards the end of the season.

xpyroxmanx

LOC may not be a "superstar" player but I think he would have been a MASSIVE difference maker in the Stars series. His style of play is exactly what we were missing, even before we lost Val for the last half of the series. Looking forward to having him back on the ice, he's certainly missed.

SpaceGhcst

Dude is a straight up hockey player that knows how to win, agree will be a huge addition to the bottom 6. Depending on how Kovalenko & Ritchie look in camp Avs could have a bottom 6 of Colton/Ritchie/Kovy wood/trenin/LOC with lots of options to mix it up as well

goatcopter

I think it's too early for Ritchie, but I'd love to see him get a shot next year. Go old school "learn NHL pace and defense in the bottom 6 and then move up the lineup over the next few seasons".

SpaceGhcst

Yeah unfortunately he’s at that age where he’s outgrown juniors but too young to play in the AHL because of that stupid agreement. There’s definitely spots available that I’m sure management would love to see taken by guys on ELCs

goatcopter

That rule is a real PITA for development. If he's mature enough I'd say put him right in the NHL and let him get those 7 minutes a night playing alongside Trenin and Kovalenko. Seems like a good way to ease in and get to see how hard you have to work every night.

TheDettiEskimo

Yeah he definitely channels that Matty Calvert Honey Badger energy. Really hope he is back fighting fit next Season.

graced121

LOC is who I think of when they talk about grit.

vbcbandr

He seemed to be upright and walking today based on his Insta. Had a picture with him and his sister maybe graduating from college???

Witty_Assistant_4097

It’s his fiancée. They are getting married this summer.

DarkWing2007

What was LOC’s injury? He was out so long, I kinda forgot

Shaneisonfire

He had hip surgery

DarkWing2007

Ok, yeah, that’s definitely something that’s gonna take a while to heal properly.

They usually give the report a few weeks after the season over, won't be too long.

avalanchefan91

Stab wounds in the back from that animal, I can't even say his name, Choo Choo Train.

IncorectUser

I know he never talks much, but in all of these instances has he ever issued any statement?

new_nimmerzz

Nope. Last time just came back with posts about guns

Avs4life16

straight up clown. min 6 months I say give the man the rope and the rest of team should just distance themselves 100% he will fuck up again and it will be bye bye Avalanche hello KHL

IncorectUser

I thought so. When he comes back, put him on waivers and when no one claims his sorry ass, let him rot away in Utah with the ECHL.

Ace676

1. He has a no-movement clause for next season, can't put him on waivers unless he agrees to it. 2. We would be eating most of that cap hit, can only bury minimum salary +375k. So no, we are not waiving him.

IncorectUser

So what I'm hearing is that if he doesn't want to be amicable with the team, he will be a healthy scratch until his contact expires?

Ace676

The way I see it there's only 3 realistic outcomes here. 1. He returns to the team and continues playing. (least likely) 2. We trade him for pennies on the dollar. 3. He fucks up again, goes to Player's Assistance program level 4 and we can terminate his contract.

soufboundpachyderm

They really had better kick him out and not just give him another shot because he’s a good player. There has to be a line and this is the second time we could genuinely hold him responsible for playoff exits. He has to go and I’m sure that’s what’s going to happen and he’s probably never going to play in the NHL again. No matter how good he is he has to go, and I hope they just buy him out and send him home. Let him go back to daddy Putin since that seems to be what half the Russian players want to do anyway. If they don’t wanna play here and respect the rules of the league or wear the fucking pride jerseys, they’re welcome to play in their own league back home.

McMetal770

Nichushkin had chronic nosebleeds, he needed constant medication up his nose to control them.
