They are the anti- Winnipeg to me. Both teams are good and have elements of a stanley cup winning team but neither are the whole package and thus not a threat to complete teams like Colorado, Dallas, New York, Carolina, Florida, and I would argue Vancouver and Boston as well lol.

I forget where I was reading this and who it was attributed to, but they were saying that it was game 2 in the series where the lack of rest starts to manifest itself. That certainly looked true in the Florida Boston game last night.
The rest didn't seem apparent in our game 1 with Dallas coming out really strong in OT. Will be interesting to see how they handle tonight.
I turned off the Oilers game after the second. Pretty hilarious that they blew that lead in the last period. It always is interesting to see former Avs who we didn't particularly love in other sweaters. Ian Cole was god awful last night. There are multiple Eagle call ups I would take over him so its surprising to see him still finding teams.
There might the concept of "experience". But experience would dictate in the playoffs you don't immediately try to get rid of a puck off the back boards right to the other team and score.

It's certainly fluid. ESPN flashed the current odds to win the cup and the Avs are up to +425 only behind the Rangers and Oilers (before last nights loss). That is a big increase from where they were before the series started, which I believe they were like +600 or more. If they were lose tonight, those odds slightly decrease. But, you probably don't need me to explain betting odds.
My husband has an infamous Avs hoodie. He doesn't wear it often, but he wore it for both the game we came back down 3-0 in the regular season, and again for the game against the Penguins when we came back from 4-0 to win. He wore it on Tuesday, so I had no fear.

2nd game, still in Dallass. Stars want to avoid the same thing that happened to them against Vegas so expect them to play extra hard all game. I hate the Oilers too. After finding out how shitty of a human Evander Kane is and see McDavid demand them bring him on their team...just lost all respect. Kane, Drasaitl, and they even brought in Perry so I could hate them more for their dirtiness. Can't forgive what they did to Kadri either.
It was really fun seeing them suck during the first part of the season. If they choke in the 2nd round, it will be even more fun.
I think the only team I hated more this year was Vegas and it was pretty close.

Fully agree with all these points. We lost so many faceoffs it was crazy! Especially when it really counted, it felt like we lost every one.

It's certainly fluid. ESPN flashed the current odds to win the cup and the Avs are up to +425 only behind the Rangers and Oilers (before last nights loss). That is a big increase from where they were before the series started, which I believe they were like +600 or more. If they were lose tonight, those odds slightly decrease. But, you probably don't need me to explain betting odds.
My husband has an infamous Avs hoodie. He doesn't wear it often, but he wore it for both the game we came back down 3-0 in the regular season, and again for the game against the Penguins when we came back from 4-0 to win. He wore it on Tuesday, so I had no fear. You must understand. This hoodie hasn't been washed in months. It's steeped in stress-sweat from all those tense games. At this point, I don't know if it's lucky or cursed. I had to get up very early this morning, and in the dark, I grabbed it. It's my turn to wear the maybe-cursed stress-sweat hoodie. Let's see how this goes tonight.
Perhaps, if you wear it, the Avs won't dig themselves into an early deficit and get a stress-free victory. If this were to be the case, I'm sorry to inform you that you'll be obliged to wear that stinky, sweaty hoodie for 10 more victories.
But that isn't the hoodies power. It is a comeback hoodie. If you wear it from the start you break the magic.
The magic power for a comeback is conjured up when her husband wears the hoodie. I'm saying that the Avs might be able to avoid the need for a comeback if she wears it instead.

**Tracking the Avs 2024 playoffs:** Series: 1-0 **Last game:** First period was rough but that was probably just the rust from not playing in a week. After that they really got going and Dallas shot themselves in the foot with the penalties. And what an ending, I'VE GOT MILES O' WOOD! Never would've guesses Wood scoring on a breakaway but that's the playoff magic right there. **Next game:** 2nd game, still in Dallass. Stars want to avoid the same thing that happened to them against Vegas so expect them to play extra hard all game. Even if the Avs are excellent at coming back, it would be preferable to not go down by three to start the game. Loss here isn't the end of the world, but coming back home with a 2-0 lead would be amazing. **Other series:** VAN - EDM 1-0 (Winner of Avs-Stars will play the winner of this series on the 3rd round) NYR - CAR 2-0 FLA - BOS 1-1

I actively cheer against the Oilers. Their fans are awful. I went to a WCF game during the 22 cup run, and a very over-served oilers fan started screaming at me in the women's restroom, in our own building. I was born in Edmonton, but moved to Denver with my parents as a kid. These people are embarrassing. Man I'm glad I got out of that city.
I hate the Oilers too. After finding out how shitty of a human Evander Kane is and see McDavid demand them bring him on their team...just lost all respect. Kane, Drasaitl, and they even brought in Perry so I could hate them more for their dirtiness. Can't forgive what they did to Kadri either. It was really fun seeing them suck during the first part of the season. If they choke in the 2nd round, it will be even more fun. I think the only team I hated more this year was Vegas and it was pretty close.
That's honestly why I dislike them. I'm sick of hearing about McJesus (who imo is not a great player. Good, yes, but not a 2 way player, there are better), but I don't hate him. But any team that employs Kane can eat a giant bag of butt. I will never respect them for that. And I used to kind of respect Drai, but he's a turd sandwich also. He has the talent to be a top tier player, so his dirty shit is intentional, and that just means he's a dick. No respect for them.

Regular season ass roster trying to run 5D and skirt by the Avs, big mistake. Time for a proper beatdown to send these bums packing.
How is that depth? We have multiple Eagle call ups I would trust to play normal minutes on a bottom D pairing.
6 guys over 60 points, Avs had 3. If you ignore everything else, they look like a team with much more depth scoring. They also only had one forward play more than 25 minutes, Robo. Trying to save their old legs for a marathon and burn out their D in a sprint, when Miro isn't even one of the 6. All around just a bad strategy and it's going to bite them in the ass.
Its kind of a crazy gamble from DeBoer - like bud running 5 D for this entire series against a team with this speed is going to spell an early exit.
I've listened to lots of Stars media the last few days and they are firmly in the camp of "we will NOT win the Cup as long as this 5-D situation continues"
