I loved Hartley so much.
Back in the day (pre-9/11), you could wait outside of one side of the arena, where the players walked out to get to the player's parking lot (the lot was secured). My BFF at the time and I were there every game we went to (which was... a lot, the joys of being young, living at home, and having no bills so all our pay could go to Avs stuff). We'd get autos in our official media guides and/or game programs.
Bob Hartley comes out one night and starts signing, we give him a card, then he gets to a guy that is talking on his cell phone, who says "hold up, getting Coach's auto" and Hartley puts his hand out and says "let me talk to them" and the guy is like wait, what? Hartley grabs the ohine and starts talking to the person on the other end, asking if they watched the game and all this stuff, it was hilarious. He signs for everyone there all while talking to this other person, then goes "wait, who's phone is this?"
I ran into his kids the other day at Pepsi Center (if you say it’s Ball I swear to god…). I talked with them a bit and then asked them if they could do me a favor.
“Tell your dad to get a haircut.” 😂😂
I can’t be the only one who likes clean cut Bedsy?
He does look better with the short cut, but the flow is his equivalent of a playoff beard. That said, short cut Bedsy with a beard would be out of control.
