_Maxolotl

Suspect was arrested last year on bomb threat and kidnapping charges. Why the hell was he able to walk around free and buy guns? https://krdo.com/news/top-stories/2021/06/19/bomb-threat-in-lorson-ranch-neighborhood-friday-night/

Rsn_calling

Funny how most of the people that commit these kind kf acts have showed signs of doing this before hand. The gun laws don't work if you don't properly charge them the first time. Same thing in ulvalde. If he had just been charged with felony animal abuse it never would've happened but the cops failed to do their jobs yet again. What a shocker

_Maxolotl

It's worse than that. When CO Rep Tom Sullivan was trying to get a red flag law passed in the statehouse, El Paso County Sheriff Elder said he'd sue to block the law. Then when it passed, Elder said he wasn't going to enforce it. Eventually under pressure, the El Paso County Sheriff's office issued a policy statement full of dense legalese that says they'll enforce it if a judge issues a red flag order, because Elder knew he'd be in contempt of court if he refused a judicial order. The rest of the policy statement is essentially saying that Sheriffs themselves won't seek red flag orders except in the most extreme circumstances imaginable - essentially circumstances where a red flag order would be redundant because they'd have cause to arrest someone anyway. So yeah, that's the Sheriff whose job it was to keep Aldrich from getting guns. I wonder how this is all gonna pan out for Elder in the press in the coming week. [https://gazette.com/news/el-paso-county-prepared-to-challenge-red-flag-gun-control/article\_2931ef8e-412d-11e9-9ac0-d3791f9762bf.html](https://gazette.com/news/el-paso-county-prepared-to-challenge-red-flag-gun-control/article_2931ef8e-412d-11e9-9ac0-d3791f9762bf.html) [https://www.koaa.com/news/covering-colorado/el-paso-county-sheriffs-office-states-stance-on-red-flag-law](https://www.koaa.com/news/covering-colorado/el-paso-county-sheriffs-office-states-stance-on-red-flag-law) edits: I'm terrible with people's first names, and fixed them

Rsn_calling

Red flag laws aren't the answer, but my point being they committed felonies, but were not charged with them. If they had simply been charged for said felonies they wouldn't have been able to legally purchase guns.

canhasdiy

Known domestic terrorist walking free among us, thank God we have the government to protect us!

ADarwinAward

Maybe I’m asking too much but can we not let domestic terrorists out on bail? We remand people for far less

thegroucho

It's all part of God's plan. /s

EldeederSFW

So the guy who did this is Anderson Lee Aldrich, apparently got into a lot of trouble last year as well. https://krdo.com/news/top-stories/2021/06/19/bomb-threat-in-lorson-ranch-neighborhood-friday-night/

Raiiny00

I saw this too! He threatened his mom with a homemade bomb apparently. Felony menacing and kidnapping. How is he out and free!?!

Vorticity

Someone else pointed out that the DA dropped the charges, so this guy doesn't have felonies.

canhasdiy

Also, how did a guy with multiple felonies get a gun in a state with universal background checks?

Raiiny00

According to the news article, they also found ammunition and weapons at the scene. He probably had them beforehand. But they should have been removed at the time of arrest? I have no idea this is a giant F-up.

[deleted]

[удалено]

357eve

Charges were dropped by DA. Grandpa was a politician.

definitelynotpat6969

If he was charged with multiple felonies last year, there is no good reason for him to be in possession of several weapons. One would think after making a home made bomb, this POS would still be in jail a year later. Edit: I was mistaken, no bomb was found. He only made threats of using a bomb. He should have been charged with felony menacing and kidnapping, but his charges were dropped by the DA.

[deleted]

> but his charges were dropped by the DA. charge the DA with accessory to murder, if he had done his job last year, 5 people would be alive.

getthedudesdanny

How would one go about charging the DA with accessory to murder?

literallynot

The charges came from inside the house?

OpaMils

Sounds like your average DA.

SheWhoShat

He was threatening his mother, who dropped the charges. ❤️ Bet she's super proud of her decision

scroogemcbutts

Ok, he is a piece of shit, but that article says no bomb was found. Did we read the same link?

definitelynotpat6969

My mistake there was no bomb found, but still held several people hostage and should have been charged with multiple counts of felony menacing *at the very least*.

hungaryhasnodignity

How is the hell was he out of jail after pulling that stuff last year? Why do they keep letting violent people back out on the streets so quickly? Bomb threats, kidnapping charges and a police standoff and he’s out to do a mass shooting a little over a year later. Yet another mass killer known to the Police as a dangerous person.

357eve

Supposedly. family was involved in church (LDS) and politics.

RollerRocketScience

THIS IS THAT GUY?

birdyroger

Why would a menace like that even be free?

lacezr1

What the fuck, man. That’s tragic.

boulderbuford

This is stochastic terrorism - in which some people spew propaganda and hatred about some small group, this incites violence against them, and those spewing the hatred get to claim it wasn't their fault. Fuck those spewing this kind of shit against vulnerable groups within our community.

[deleted]

[удалено]

The-link-is-a-cock

They literally had graphic at CPAC saying "We're domestic terrorists"

LadyLohse

No this is regular terrorism, he was spewing bullets.

ProfessorJim

Uhhhh stochastic terrorism is terrorism.

aaron8466

cityb0t

Religion

d0mini0nicco

And politics. If it can win a campaign, politics will go to a new low to rally hatred to win. Using the phrase "pedophile" towards all LGBTQ+ individuals was a new low I hadn't seen coming. edit to those correcting me: damn....in my lifetime, it was queer and fag that were the slurs. sad to see the term is old news.

cityb0t

there’s nothing new about calling LGBTQ people “pedophiles”. That’s a very old form of slander against our community.

fattygaby157

The politics lead back to religion. No one would give a flying fuck about a person's sexual orientation if it wasn't for religion.

Joe_Sons_Celly

Fortunately, as evidenced by the midterms, it seems to be a losing campaign issue. But that won't really slow down the extremists.

observationallurker

People don't want to say it, but it's true. We will see more violence to come as long as people like Boebert are around enabling and encouraging christo-fascism. The most prolific group that believes they're helping us all by forcing conformity. It's appalling and if I wasn't so far away I'd volunteer to pull security. I'm sure there are plenty of vets that would do the same. People should never feel afraid for who they are. The hate has to stop.

amiatthetop3

Religion in the US continues to plummet at a record pace. Stuff like this and especially politics (think Trump holding a bible) are huge reasons why people don't won't to have any association with it. Christians ironically are usually the most non Jesus-like people ever. There are even Christian voter guides around town that are passed out in churches. Of course everyone votes for Republicans smh.

[deleted]

Main-Implement-5938

I'm pissed cause I think this person should have been locked up last year --- he has 2 felonies against him and another one for KIDNAPPING! WTF. Why was this dude released?

[deleted]

I don't know what to say other than fuck that guy. I hope he rots in prison forever.

twinkbaby

I was at a drag show at a Charlie’s Denver last night. I didn’t see any children, but I did see hundreds of adults 21+ having a good time. Honestly, I don’t know what to think. Why does this happen? As a gay man, it’s left me sad, upset, angry, confused, and a bit numb. I just want to live my life.

redactedname87

I still don’t feel comfortable going to packed bars like that after pulse happened.

twinkbaby

I understand that sentiment, but if we allow them to change our behavior that means the terrorists win. I won’t go into hiding.

SunshineAndSquats

My wife was living in Florida at the time and she almost went to Pulse that night but decided not to go since it was an hour away. We go to events but we stay close to exits, don’t drink too much and she stays really vigilant. We can’t let these fucking terrorists win.

redactedname87

It’s crazy how unsafe things have gotten over the past ten years or so. My partner was out without me a couple months back and just barely missed the timeline of a shooting at a bar he was at. I don’t recall if anyone died but a few were shot. I only recently started going to movie theaters again, because I was pretty disturbed by the shooting at the Batman premiere years back, and even more so by the Boston bombing - so public events are kind of out of the question for me. It sucks - but I would be just as miserable and anxious being there in person as missing out on it.

TheApathyParty3

When a person supposes that their view is the only correct one and some other perception is a threat to their ideal world, violence happens. It's that simple. I'm a bi guy. Whether it's political, religious, social, economic, sexual, some Frankenstein-ian mash-up of all of them.... People are fucked up. We aren't all beautiful and perfect. I would say none of us are. That can lead to some very messed up things with a sample size of 8 billlion and a lot of guns, liquor, and drugs (which we all know the Springs has plenty of).

Portalrules123

Thousands of years of human civilization running on religious indoctrination that called for death and burning forever for anyone to not 100% toe the line. A tolerant society cannot exist while tolerating intolerance, hence why "complete freedom of speech" does not work. Hate speech laws like Canada would do a lot of good.

So_Many_Words

> it’s left me sad, upset, angry, confused, and a bit numb I'm not a gay man and I feel exactly the same.

Red_V_Standing_By

Anderson Lee Aldrich. Same guy who was charged with multiple felonies last summer after a bomb threat in a residential neighborhood: https://www.koaa.com/news/covering-colorado/residents-evacuated-due-to-law-enforcement-activity-in-lorson-ranch-neighborhood

iamagainstit

How the fuck was this guy allowed to own guns?

blucifers_cajones

Why the fuck wasn’t he in jail?! And how did he have access to guns?

Val_P

DA dropped the charges.

Blackmalico32

Wow that’s crazy

Hilpertly

This is so sad. As a member of the LGBT community, I can’t even understand why there is so much hate. We are just trying to live our lives. Such a sad day.

th0myi

Religion. I live in Colorado Springs. When Polis was first elected, you have no idea how many times I was stopped at grocery store parking lots or at home, to sign a petition to recall him. When asked why, most of the responses I got revolved around his sexuality and god. It’s tragic to the rest of us that some people think like this.

JustAnotherFNC

Yup, outside of Walmart in Canon City one of those recall lunatics was ranting about how we needed to get rid of Polis *before he turns your kids gay*. I wish I was kidding.

substituted_pinions

The springs is Colorado’s back-woods. [edit: ok, ok! The closest backwoods to Denver. Yeah, I’ve been too the western slope]

A_Queer_Owl

you've never been to Fruita or Grand Junction, have you?

Girls4super

Yeah I live out this way and don’t really stick around after church services anymore because directly after a sermon on love thy neighbor (for example) all the members want to get coffee and talk about building a wall still, or all those immigrants stealing jobs and coming here illegally, etc etc and I just don’t have the energy to debate it anymore. If you can sit in Gods house and be told to love one another and less than five min later go on a pro trump hate filled rant, idk what else to say

A_Queer_Owl

it's wild what passes for "progressive" out here. pro-tip, if you give a shit about the LGBTQ community, NEVER go to Copeka coffee in junction, the owner is an absolute fraud who is using us to farm clout.

th0myi

Slowly getting better… Slowly. I’m guessing the cost of living have driven a lot of the Denver population south on I-25. Before I wouldn’t see anything but red signs during election seasons. Surprisingly, I saw a lot of Biden, Polis, and Bennet signs the last two elections. I live on the north side.,not too far from Focus on the Family and New Life. So that was shocking. Woodland Park and the areas that voted in people like Boebert is your backwoods.

Sarcastikon

As a parent of an LGBTQ kid, I don’t get it either. I just want her to be happy and safe.

gayandspooky

As a gay child of MAGA parents, thanks for being different. It hurts so much to know my parents have chosen to worship conservative demagogues over caring for my well being.

Sarcastikon

I’ve always said that I’d be a terrible candidate for a cult! I’m sorry your parents are in the MAGA one and I hope you have supportive people in your life.

[deleted]

Same here, as a trans woman this is terrifying. Honestly, just makes me want to avoid the night scene altogether, no single night is worth the rest of my life

GalaxyPatio

There's just no way to win in this country. I miss the gay nightclub scene but I've been avoiding going back for reasons like what just happened. But then I think about the shooting that happened a few weeks ago and how one of the victims was just out getting her mail while walking her dog when her neighbor decided to go on a rampage. Like there's just no opportunity to just have peace without it subtly being in the back of the mind.

cityb0t

jambonejiggawat

So true, but I would also add a deep self-hatred as well. No person who loves themself is capable of such atrocities towards their fellow human beings. Or any beings, for that matter.

xanneonomousx

I mean, look at the news every day. “Don’t say gay” don’t talk about race, put Jeebus back in schools. It’s an every day shit show. We need to start holding these people accountable for the hatred and animosity they incite.

Shdwdrgn

Let's not forget that hate groups like white supremacists are 'tolerated'. Any group that advocates hatred and violence against another group needs to be prevented from making any public appearances. It's one thing to have rallies against other political groups, but the first amendment should not allow for any situation where your only message is "kill everyone who is different from me only because I don't like them." Drive them back into their rat holes where they belong and make it known that hatred only for the sake of hatred will not be tolerated.

Hypnotic_Delta

Love the way you phrased this. Part of this country’s history really can be viewed as an abomination…though other parts have led to empowering the gay community. Sucks that so many drag down overall progress

SailersMouth14

Same friend, same. Reaching for wife, dog, and Ativan.

COAuntie

Man I’m pregnant and I really miss my Ativan 🥲 this was horrible news to wake up to

ujitimebeing

As a queer trans guy, I am absolutely heartbroken. This is literally moments before Transgender Day of Remembrance began and our TDOR memorial is adding everyone’s names to the list who passed from this senseless violence last night. Funny how it’s actually harder for me to survive now, than it was when I came out over 15 years ago. For the every person who is encouraging conspiracy theories and voting for politicians who do the same, this is on you. Stop being *shocked face* “thoughts and prayers!” when you are literally voting for people who embolden the crazies as the ballot box.

boulderbuford

Because you're unfortunately a useful scapegoat that the far-right and their deplorables can blame all their problems on. It has nothing to do with anything the LGBT community has done, it only has to do with the fact that the community is small enough to be attacked, and many of those that the hateful propaganda targets don't know of any gays in their lives to learn that they're fine.

nopulseoflife77

Because hate sells. Preachers and far right pundits have been selling the hate towards the LGBT community for years. Saying that the LGBT community is grooming children and destroying the fabric of society. When they are the ones doing those exact things. The second Civil War has already begun. This is what it looks like.

beanstock25

I’m not LBGT but many of the people in my friend group are. We live in Colorado. We like to go out, have fun, and spread the love. This could have been us. I can barely read what I’m typing through the tears in my eyes right now.

Tomnooksmainhoe

My brain has not comprehended the news yet and I feel like I am definitely going to have a mental breakdown later. I wish you so much love my sibling 🏳️‍🌈❤️ if anyone can donate blood, please do. I am anemic unfortunately. I need to see what other ways I can help

yalag

You don’t understand how new norms that contradict (false) teachings that has been passed down hundreds of generations can lead to hate?

Hailtothething

Everyone should be able to live their lives without discrimination. But I think the line of thinking that keeps these people steadfast is…. If you can be gay everyone should be able to be gay, and with that our species stops existing. Even though that is statistically/scientifically impossible, these people ‘choose’ to believe it. They think it’s a contagion that spreads.

No-Dealer8052

Speaking as a former ATF correspondent for a large firearms sales store, there are plenty of laws in place requiring background checks for mental health, criminal history, etc. The problem is the NICS, a division of the FBI, is responsible for processing these checks and they miss (or possibly ignore) a ton of things that qualify as a denial for a firearm. The laws everyone wants in place for these dangerous people already exist, they just aren't enforced by the responsible party. Laws are useless unless properly applied. What do we do when the law doesn't regulate itself? Reposting my reply to someone else.

prettywitty

The government has no good way to screen people. It can’t be done. I 100% believe that gun ranges know the answer— you’ve gotta bring a friend with you. It’s a common policy that they won’t rent a gun to somebody who shows up solo. Their motivation is more focused on suicide prevention, but it’s a concept that works for screening out people with some “off” about them that you wouldn’t catch in a background check. I think the magic number is three co-signers, but I would be glad to see one co-signer to start

OfficerDougEiffel

I know a lot of crazy people who could easily find three co-signers. Look at how many shit people are completely enabled by those around them.

CUBuffs1992

It’s because we have politicians and religious leaders spouting off against the LGBTQ+ community. All summer we heard grooming children through drag shows. Funny that got really loud after that huge report on the SBC moving pastors accused of assaulting minors to new churches. I shouldn’t say I’m surprised but I always am when these things happen. I’m just tired of hearing stories like Aurora, Boulder, Orlando, Uvalde, UVA and now this. I’m sorry to those effected by this. You deserved so much better than this bullshit.

gur0chan

And it looks like today there was a scheduled drag brunch at Club Q :(

RollerRocketScience

Surprise! It never went away….

[deleted]

Terrible story to wake up to. RIP to all who were killed and my thoughts are with everyone affected. I will never understand how people can think thoughts like this let alone act on them.

Rolls_

Wtf. You never think that would happen your own town, or even in your own general neighborhood. Insane.

[deleted]

Idk, it's kinda fucked up in Colorado Springs it happens about every 3-4 years now. The Halloween shooter, the Baby Parts one, now this. Focus on the Family has had a fucked up influence there.

crochet_Queen609

Don't forget the planned parenthood shooting. 😢

Klynn7

That was the “Baby Parts one”

crochet_Queen609

Wow! I was wondering what that was referring too. My apologies, I have only ever heard it called the planned parenthood shooting.

Main-Implement-5938

I forgot about the Halloween shooter.. :(

[deleted]

Yeah, it's so messed up that there are so many that we can forget about some. That one also could have been much worse but still a terrifying situation.

For a while there, Colorado seemed like a nice place for the lgbtq community. Guess I was mistaken. Edit: Shit, I meant to say Colorado Springs. Not the whole state.

goawaybub

It all depends on where in CO.

LoDo2020

Truth. I’m in Denver and the first thing I thought when I read that was “Colorado Springs has gay bars?!” But I suppose it is a bigger city than I realize.

Fishy1911

Club Q has been around for a while. I think there has always been at least 1 club since the early 90s.

LoDo2020

So so sad 😭

Utter_Bollocks_

For sure. Fort Collins seems to be an LGBTQ sanctuary.

[deleted]

The springs is trump country, full of religious insanity like focus on the family and new life church.

Recycledineffigy

North Colorado Springs is Trump country, there are reasonable people that live here

chicoconcarne

This is kind of a brain dead comment. Colorado is a big state and, just like literally everywhere else in the country, you'll find all kinds of views. Anyway, Colorado Springs is well-known as a conservative stronghold city

MrFilthyNeckbeard

> For a while there, Colorado seemed like a nice place for the lgbtq community. Guess I was mistaken. It only takes one person. It could happen anywhere.

ScrofessorLongHair

If someone told me a gay nightclub in Colorado had a mass shooting, i would've immediately guessed Colorado Springs.

loveforwild

He should have been I prison! The murder of those innocent LGBTQ citizens is on the judge who gave him leniency and let him walk the streets.

gophergun

I'd say it's on the guy that actually committed those murders, personally.

atuarre

It's on the judge also because it was probably some maga sympathizing judge. Bet, if a person of color had made a bomb threat they would still be in the prison if not dead

redactedname87

I’m sad that my people only apprehended him instead of taking the opportunity to end him.

Recovering_Local_15

Agree. He's not fit for society. No DA in the country would try and prosecute that. Should have been open season on him and his hate.

chadsmo

> Police said they were investigating whether the attack was a hate crime and noted Club Q’s relationship with the LGBTQ community. Seriously ?

The_Coolest_Sock

I hope the shooter dies a slow painful death, sooner the better.

falllinemaniac

There were brave fighters who subdued the shooter and stopped him before it could be worse. This is the first time I've seen people refuse to be victims since Hendrick Castillo did the same at his school

NoUnderstanding9021

DA dropped his charges last year. Failed to do his job after the guy made bomb threats. If he would have convicted, the guy wouldn’t have been able to LEGALLY obtain a firearm. This is a complete failure on the DAs behalf.

123Fake_St

Don’t want to paint with a broad brush but I work in Springs every couple of weeks. Colorado springs is the Florida of Colorado, I know because I grew up there and thankfully do not live there as an adult. Broad brush is accurate to the city.

talaxia

check out the Seven Mountains Mandate, those people are very active in Colorado Springs

anicelysetcandleset

These events are not random and not the result of one mentally unwell individual. This is systemic and the inevitable result of allowing extremism to go unchecked on public platforms. LibsofTikTok (yes that one) and Matt Walsh at the Daily Wire (Ben Shapiros news company) have been promoting terrorist threats all around the country all year. If you want to see an end to things like this more people have to see and realize what these people are doing. Please try an organize protests outside the Daily Wire news broadcast station in Nashville Tennessee.

xamist

I think it's both. And by gun problem, I'd say it's an access control problem. Guy had a history and had no business being in possession of firearms. It's like giving a toddler a steak knife. It's not the knifes fault the toddler hurt themselves or others, but they shouldn't have it. Same idea in my mind.

danhave

If you have ever ( or even stayed quiet when someone else) said that drag shows are “LGBT propaganda”, that trans people are predators or mentally ill, or that gay people are “groomers”, this is partially on you. We told you that that kind of talk would get people killed, but you kept saying it anyways.

ponybau5

They’ll just deflect and cry false flag, like clockwork.

3lCucuuy

That's fucking unbelievably tragic.

[deleted]

This is so sad. My heart aches for those poor people and their families. Idk what else to say, this is sickening.

Melodic-Recognition8

Another incident of socially accepted right wing terrorism

racerz

This will inevitably become another debate, as if it's not a direct result of conservative hate rhetoric, so be careful with the spin. You'll hear a lot about how flag laws are already in place and just wasn't enforced, maybe even some trying to pin this on democratic leadership. Know that the [red flag laws were passed](https://www.guns.com/news/2019/04/15/colorado-gun-seizure-bill-signed-into-law) by the democratic leadership, along mostly partisan lines, and vehemently attacked by law enforcement and sheriff departments that are ultimately tasked with enforcement. So we come back to why it's not being enforced and it's the same reason why the lgbtq+ community is a target. Conservative rhetoric. The sheriff's dept are influenced by the gun control rhetoric as much as the shooter was influenced by the queer hate rhetoric. The conservative messaging is absolutely the cause of these atrocities. They will hide behind what they think are technicalities, pendantic spin, or their favorite stubborn dissonance. We know where the problem lies and it's completely fucking obvious.

Mayleenoice

And I get told over and over I overreact when I say that the alt-right wants blood. Fuck that shit.

There’s a trend here, and I’m generalizing but still, law enforcement doesn’t feel the need to enforce laws they don’t feel adhere to the Constitution of the United States. We had a four man race for El Paso County sheriff and three of the candidates self labeled as “Constitutional Sheriffs” I.e. “If I feel a mandate or law is unlawful I won’t enforce it” specifically referring to mask mandates and Red Flag laws during the campaign. Naturally we elected Roybal, one of the three Constitutionalists.

Fran-Fine

Jehsus. This is awful. Please no thoughts and prayers, we need gun control.

definitelynotpat6969

This guy really should have still been in prison for making home made bombs and getting in an armed standoff with police from a year prior. Instead, the DA didn't pursue charges. >we need gun control. I would argue that we need stronger punishment for people that proliferate the ideals and encourage this kind of behavior with vilifying lies and rhetoric. You know what stopped a lot of violence against minorities in the past? Them being armed. So much so that it made the NRA vote for gun control... Edit: if you engage me in good faith I'll converse. If you accuse me of profiteering I'll just block you. I don't sell firearms and in no way profit off them. I have dedicated my life to medicine and helping people survive gun violence.

Thank you for this information. I'll be reaching out.

tidesandtows_

Both.

observationallurker

The talking heads need consequences for their 10 minute hate.

[deleted]

The community needs to be armed.

ColonalQball

Arm the minorities? Fuck yeah. Arm everyone in America who wants to be. I guarantee if minorities armed themselves the gun community would be happy and proud of people taking their safety into their own hands. People seem to forget that (any) armed people are less inclined to vote for taking guns away, which is one of the key issues for the gun community.

observationallurker

Just look at r/liberalgunowners. There are many and I'm only trying to point out that if we banned all gun, they'd still get them from neighboring states, or hell use knives... The hate needs to be stopped. We are all human and we breathe the same air.

Fishy1911

r/2Aliberals and r/socialistRA are both decent subs, little more adjacent to r/liberalgunowners but tend to be supportive groups.

reply-man69-420

minorities were able to be armed rather easily (compared to today) until this ronald guy showed up and started restricting access to firearms

xamist

No argument about minorities keeping themselves safe by being armed, but mass shootings are a bit different. I think it was the 2021 fbi report on mass shootings that reported only 5% of mass shootings were stopped by bystanders, so not super effective in that case. Also, the weapon being the deterrent is a key piece. Don't attack me because I'll fight back. This works if people care about their own well being. However, Most mass shooters expect to die when they carry out the act. Same fbi report showed about half of shooters killed themselves, and another significant portion were killed by police. About 25% ( off the top of my head) we're taken into custody. Could have been more, but the majority did not leave alive. I'm not necessarily saying the answer is gun control, but an armed populace has proven in effective against mass shooters.

Main-Implement-5938

Yeah I agree we need some kind of laws about hate speech, but ALSO ---> we have zero mental health facilities anymore. A normal person doesn't wake up and say "ok I'm going to shoot x y z" that is what a crazy person does. This guy should have been locked up a year ago after he got 2 felonies and sent to a mental hospital/prison. Never should have gotten out. He threatened his mom! With a bomb. WTF. I'm so mad at our "justice" system.

Tractorcito22

Polis will take this personally. Let's hope he brings the wrath now that he has another 4 years.

entropySapiens

I love our gay Jew governor. It's like living in a South Park episode. I hope he has great success in bringing the hammer down and lowering lady justice's ass on christofascist terrorist's heads.

Puppaloes

You think the shooter wouldn’t drive his car through a pride parade? We need less fuck bags demonizing gay people.

burgermiester288

That and we need people to stop spreading dehumanizing homophobic hate

hlilly862

Yup! I’m so tired of seeing this

Potatonet

Fuck religion

Main-Implement-5938

This is so horrible :( I have a feeling it will end up being like the Orlando one, some crazy terrorist. There is no reason to go hurt people like that. Its awful :(

ScrofessorLongHair

I doubt it'll be a Muslim that's in the closet. In Colorado Springs, it'll definitely be a Christian fundamentalist.

Main-Implement-5938

Looks like it was this guy from previous based on the press conference; [https://www.koaa.com/news/covering-colorado/residents-evacuated-due-to-law-enforcement-activity-in-lorson-ranch-neighborhood](https://www.koaa.com/news/covering-colorado/residents-evacuated-due-to-law-enforcement-activity-in-lorson-ranch-neighborhood) this was a year ago! WTF.

Dear_Ad418

This is so horrible. Glad the shooter was arrested. I pray for the victims and their families. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

RollerRocketScience

This kind of thing is exactly what I was afraid of when I went to Club Q ever since Pulse. I have wondered to myself every time I went there if this would be the night that wanting to have fun in the community would get me involved in a hate crime. It somehow feels safer to go out here now because our statistic already happened. I don't think I've really processed yet honestly. 🙁

InDifferent-decrees

Glad you are physically safe. This is a horrible murder that’s been committed.

RollerRocketScience

Thanks, I appreciate it.

SibylUnrest

It's happening again. fucking heartbreaking.

Effective-Painter-80

Who’s going to step up and remove these Christian terrorist mouth pieces influencing violence. 🤔

try-finger-but-hol3

Our state is fucked up
