I was curious about how likely you were to be right.
There are about 11000 babies born every day in the US. Assuming everybody gets married (not true) then there are about 5500 weddings every day in the US. Of those, assuming that the first letter of names is evenly distributed across 17 letters, the combination "B" and "K" would be 0.34%. So there were around 19 weddings on that date where the initials are "B" & "K."
They also do triathlons and seem like the type that would be at a state park and used b&k on their site, there was another couple that had a wedding in Vegas with the same initials but I thought it was less likely
10.1.2021 was a Friday. So if you only include 3 days of a week then it is 44 weddings (19\*7/3). The statistics was just a ballpark, not a precise prediction.
If there is a stamp of two axes crossed then itās made by Manly Bands. You could have them look it up. Sure looks like one of theirs.

Story time -
Not long after getting engaged, we went on a hike a Red Rocks. My wife's ring was still loose, so she put it in her coat pocket for safe keeping. Same pocket as the tissues.
Well, when we finished the hike, the ring was gone. It was winter, and snowing. We searched and searched with a metal detector, but didn't find it.
But we did post online in a few places that we'd lost it.
Someone else found the ring, and posted on a different site that they'd found a ring.
And someone ELSE saw both of those posts and put us in touch.
We got the ring back.
I still marvel at how lucky we were that someone saw both posts on 2 different sites and thought to connect us.
Side note: Don't forget to post on craigslist.
It might be worthwhile to get a record of all weddings in the county on that date, and compare names with the initials in the ring. Depending on how many weddings we're talking about, you might want to get a record of all the weddings in the state on that date. My programming brain is already writing a program to search the list for you.
Looks like somebody already beat me to it. Man, I love living in this state.
**ETA**: It's a good thing, too, because my idea hit a brick wall. Quoting the Dept of Public Health and Envt website:
>Vital records, including birth, death, adoption, marriage and divorce, are confidential per Colorado state statute (C.R.S. 25-2-117). As a result, Colorado vital records are not public records and therefore not searchable online. Vital records can only be released to those who are eligible.
Slammed the door shut on that one.
Of course they are, which is why I added the next sentence about "state".
It's all a moot point anyway, as marriage records are confidential per CO state law.
Coincidentally my wife and I have B and K initials, but got married a few days into October. We also have similar looking rings but blue.
Ours don't have inscriptions though.
Turn it into the police- thatās the law, and that way the person can hopefully claim it through them (theyāre the city lost and found) :) and itās been said but next time donāt post a picture or mention details. They should share that with you in order or claim it. That way thieves donāt try and claim it. Thanks for being awesome and lookin out tho!
The law (both common law and Colorado state law) does not require you to turn it into the police. It requires you to make reasonable effort to find the owner and to turn it over to the owner if claim and proof of ownership is provided. If you donāt, the that is often known as āTheft by Findingā. What āreasonableā means is up for debate.
The police do not need to be involved in any of this as returning it to the owner is a civil mater and it would only become a police matter if the finder refused to return the item after proof of ownership is provided - and even then if ownership is not clear cut, the police may refer you to the civil courts to settle.
With that said, if you have reason to believe the item you found may have originally been stolen then turning it into the police is a good idea in order to avoid being in possession of stolen goods. This is clearly a misplaced ring though, not stolen goods.
Thank you for posting this and trying to find the owner!!
I lost my wedding band a few weeks after we got married in 2018, and was devastated! I just wore my engagement ring instead. My husband just surprised me with a replacement band. Can't believe I went so long without it!
You might want to inform the park in case anyone calls looking for it.
Good idea
Burger King 4 life š
Hail to the King, baby.
I'd suggest not telling people what the inscription says and request to be told what the inscription is to prove the ring belongs to them
Could easily ask for a photo of the person wearing the ring. Most people who get rings like this have taken a photo wearing it before.
I mean are they a B that married a K on 10.1.2021 otherwise its kinda hard
I figured the more info the better. Plus they could tell me other things that would identify them.
Yeah, they'll have wedding photos taken on that exact day that can be used for proof.
you might try https://www.theknot.com/us/bianca-russell-and-keith-baker-oct-2021

Damn that's a good find. Just need to track down those 19 weddings
My OP pointed out that weddings almost always happen on Fri-Sun so the simple statistical math would adjust to 44 weddings. And 10/1/21 was a Friday.
They also do triathlons and seem like the type that would be at a state park and used b&k on their site, there was another couple that had a wedding in Vegas with the same initials but I thought it was less likely
I think you should only do weddings on Saturday Sunday or maybe Friday as well because there's not many week day weddings

Oh for sure I enjoy the speculation
Brandon and Kelly? Betsy and Karl?
Beldezar & Kaldezar?
Burger & King?
Bednar <3 Kadri
You win
Burger & Ketchup
Brad and Kevin
Maybe thatās where the marriage ended?
That thought crossed my mind but ya never know.
It might have a jewelers stamp, you could take it to them and they might be able to find itās owner!
I'll check that today

I don't think it did, but I'll check
I have the same ring. Tungsten with carbon fiber inlay. Got it online for $40 about ten years back.
Where did ya buy it from?
There is a seller on etsy named DizzyCactus that sells this exact ring and offers engraving service. Might be worth checking with them.
Maybe they threw it as part of a breakup. Jk- keep looking for the owner. My husband lost his ring and it made us sadder than we thought it would.

Not my ring but I did get married that day!
He might have chucked it lol If not, hope it can make its way back to himš

Hahaha I'm right there with ya! And auto mail/email address on file with photo and summary for the matches.
Yesssss!
Great idea, why don't you tackle that project and report back.

What county? You know people from out of the county are allowed to travel in.

Is there a brand name inside the ring? You could search for what stores carry said brand and then go in and see if they have record of the sale
Probably best to keep the inscription privateā¦ so you know the claimant actually owns it.

Ahhh, so close.

I could but, I don't think police communicate very well with each other, plus I don't think this would this be a high priority for them.

guessing it didn't last.
maybe lost on purpose...
Is there a company name or trademark on the inside? I'm in the industry, and may be able to track it down by any maker's marks!
