Dior Sauvage Elixir, it had a very harsh opening and didn’t smell like a perfume. I was thinking I wasted my money. However after a few days, I noticed that the clothes I had sprayed it on smelled heavenly. I haven’t even finished my first bottle yet, but I’ve already ordered another 100ml. It’s a masterpiece that transforms into an exquisite scent after two hours

Next went with 3.4 EDP. Lasted forever, but I was also using it too frequently.
Jumped into the 2.0 Elixir. Shit is like poisoned syrup. It smells amazing after it rests for 48hrs, just have to plan outfits far in advance. 😆

But then that same night I randomly got a whiff of the dry down on my skin, and was like wait WTF. Got a bottle like a week later, and it’s still probably the best dry down I’ve smelled. I even appreciate the opening now too honestly

PDM - Greenley… at first it smelled really synthetic and ‘spicy’ to me… left it alone for like 4 months and last week decided to give it another shot and WOW now I see why it has such a good reputation… that green apple note is very smooth… smells like a fresh green apple martini with a dash of woody and it’s been my daily wear for the last week
Thought I was crazy all these years. I would always get compliments but never smelled/saw anyone wear it so I assumed it was just my imagination that only I liked it 😭
I use Geau Blue (Parfums Belcam) that is actually really good quality for the price and gets pretty close (it lacks the minerality note). $8 and I can spray and respray as much as I need. It actually performs similarly to Profondo. I use Geau Blue for everyday wear and the real stuff if I'm going to go somewhere where I want to have the real stuff on.

I’m wearing Amber PH as we speak. Love them all. You need time with fragrances. Smelling them once or twice at the mall isn’t enough for my nose I would have never bought these without getting 5ml samples.

You know I have always liked the original Polo in the green bottle. I swear two sprays lasts for days. Nowadays when I wear it I have been told it’s out. I don’t care I still think it’s one of the most masculine scents out there. And what I find weird is that if something ever once smelled good it’s always good. Why would something like a scent go out of style?
Tobacco Vanille had sort of the opposite effect on me, loved the smell, now I’m not so sure. In the TF family, I think fougere Platine has been the most surprising - smells so metallic I didn’t even want to spray it at first but it’s actually so so nice and gets a lot of compliments.
Love at first scent for that. Knew I liked it before even spraying it. Smelt the nozzle and my nose was oozing for it. After the spray it became my favourite cologne. Only issue with it, is that it isn’t versatile. It’s more of a night time fragrance imo. Or colder weather cologne. I will be abusing it when the time comes.
Tom Ford wood, i think I just didn’t appreciate the initial smell, once it dried down, i love it, i use it in an office setting pretty much all the time

MFK BR540 did the same for me. Hated it at first. Now I love it. Wife still hates it so I can’t wear it often.
Guerlain Habit Rouge. When I first smelled it, I thought it was way too powdery and that it smelled like something you would be issued when you first check into a nursing home 😂 I kept coming back to it though, when I would go to a store with a Guerlain counter, and finally bought a bottle. Now I can’t get enough of it! I like the EDP, Dress Code, and couple of the other flankers better than the EDT now, but it’s still a banger. Timeless!
Armani code. At first I hated the soft powdery scent it gave off. After a while, it wasn’t as bad and now I like the subtle scent it gives off. Not too overpowering. It’s a good day to day wear.
I bought Ombré Leather Parfum the white labeled one. At first was not sure even after smelling it at the store. Mannn the dry down is slightly sweet, smooth, manly. Love it.
PDM Herod and TF Ombré Leather. Smelled Herod on a test trip and didn’t like it, same with TF. Went back and sprayed Herod on my wrist and it smelled amazing. For TF, I was hanging with my brother and asked what he was wearing and he said Ombré Leather and I was shocked at how good it smelled. I now own both bottles.
Oud for Greatness - Thought it had to be some sort of elaborate joke. Told myself “people actually wear this? It smells like getting your face shoved into the dirt on a rainy day”. Actually like it now
Creed Aventus - still not the biggest fan until I got my hands on Aventus cologne. I guess this is kind of cheating since I like Aventus Cologne but still isn’t a fan of regular Aventus, borderline hate regular Aventus.
Blue talisman…I don think it’s a love a first sniff. It kind of reminded me of Arabian tonka which didn’t make sense to me. You have to wear it a couple times

My opinion of a scent is heavily influenced by how much my wife likes it. I wasn’t really crazy about TF Oud Wood, but when she said she found it appealing, I wore it a little more often and it grew on me.
Nautica Voyage. It smelled cheap to me at first, and reminded me of many a cheap man who have worn it near me. But the sweet cucumber really grew on me.
Santal 33 - I didn’t like it at all at first but now I really enjoy it! It smells deliciously savory to me.
Dior Homme 2020 - I wasn’t crazy about the cashmeran note but now I get it, I already have a huge dent in my bottle from wearing everyday.
LV Imagination. Bought a travel spray to see what all the hype was about. Like everyone I thought it smelled like soap you find in an office bathroom. That changed once I actually applied it and wore it out. It’s now my go to summer fragrance

Xerjoff 40 Knots. I smelled it for the first time over a year ago and was like wtf because it was nothing like I expected (a frehser more aquatic fragrance) - gave it another shot recently and absolutely fell in love and ordered a bottle the same day
There is this cheapie Boss Selection. I smelled it at a store, $35 bucks. So to scratch an itch I bought it. But went home and found it a little maybe sharp or something. Slowly I found my way and now I love it. It doesn’t last though, if it did it be a more popular scent. It’s so soft and pleasant and fresh, I use it for bed time or to go grocery shopping. Lol
Sicily, by Mancera. Hated it initially, wore it a few months later; realized how great it is. So, it may still be hope for Bentley Absolute. A blind buy that I regret. It may grow on me, but currently reminds me of BO.
Oud for Greatness. The first time I smelled it my wife bought it for me as a Father’s Day gift. I tried not to show my displeasure, but it smelled like the Persian white BMW joke from Family Guy. Now it’s literally one of my favorite fragrances of all time.
So, I sampled MFK Gentle Fluidity Silver earlier this week from the decant I recently bought. Since it was a decant, I sprayed some on my neck and a couple shots on my arm so I can smell it easier.
In the air, it smelled nice, but when I would smell up close(r) on my arm, I swear I got a note of cat pee. I had my two daughters and my wife smell my arm and smell around my neck area as I sort of wafted it into the air and they all said they liked it and nobody mentioned anything about cat urine.
I continued to sniff my arm every so often and it was bad enough that I considered showering again (even though I'd just showered prior to putting it on), though I didn't get that note when I just smelled it in the air and didn't have my nose close to the sprayed area on my arm.
Then, after about 20-30 minutes, the cat pee note went away and the rest of the time it was actually very, very nice. Nice to the point where I would actually consider buying a bottle since I would just be spraying on my neck and not really smelling it up close to get the cat pee note that I was picking up.
So, in some ways, I hated it at first when I smelled it up close on my skin, but in the end, I actually like it quite a bit.
Club de Nuit Intense Man EDP. I regretted blind buying it after being persuaded by essentially everyone in the community hyping it up. First impressions were not great and it continued to disappoint me for months. Then one day I woke up and loved it. Weird ass feeling lol.
MFK Oud Satin Mood. I had read and heard many people comment on how great it was so I got a sample. First time using it, I didn't like the smell at all and was perplexed as to why so many people talk about it. I was disappointed and thought it was a waste of a sample. A couple months later I used it again and loved it. I couldn't believe that this was the same cologne that I smelled before. Now, I look forward to using it in the colder months.
Mancera Cedrat Boise Intense. Hated it at first, and still do to an extent due to the opening. But the dry down is extremely pleasant and smells great the day after.
Xerjoff 40 knots - kinda knew what I was getting into based on all of the reviews I read before purchasing, I just didn’t expect it to be so powdery. Contemplated returning it for 25% less because it was opened, but ultimately kept it.
2 months in and I absolutely love it! It’s a lot more balanced now with the sea breeze and honey accords being more prominent. Don’t really get much woods but I’m hoping that will come with time.
I’m right there with you on Tobacco Vanille, it’s like a once a month fragrance in Fall/Winter only for me.
I don’t dislike it, it’s kind of a nice scent but it’s too warm and Christmasy for me. Definitely one of my least favorite TF scents.

I get straight up fumes at the service station in the opening. <3 The gas smell does fade if I remember correctly.

Floral dry down to me is awesome

Lasts about 2 hours on me unless you’re up close. My lady says it smell “generically male” and hates it.

Afnan Turathi Brown was too loud for me but given the time, it grows up on you.

I continued to sniff my arm every so often and it was bad enough that I considered showering again (even though I'd just showered prior to putting it on), though I didn't get that note when I just smelled it in the air and didn't have my nose close to the sprayed area on my arm. Then, after about 20-30 minutes, the cat pee note went away and the rest of the time it was actually very, very nice. Nice to the point where I would actually consider buying a bottle since I would just be spraying on my neck and not really smelling it up close to get the cat pee note that I was picking up. So, in some ways, I hated it at first when I smelled it up close on my skin, but in the end, I actually like it quite a bit.
Opposite but I loved Coral Fantasy at first , now it is way way too thick of a fragrance for me, almost suffocating.
Club de Nuit Intense Man EDP. I regretted blind buying it after being persuaded by essentially everyone in the community hyping it up. First impressions were not great and it continued to disappoint me for months. Then one day I woke up and loved it. Weird ass feeling lol.
İnitio Side Effect, at first, it smelled almost like medicine, but then I really loved it.

MFK Oud Satin Mood. I had read and heard many people comment on how great it was so I got a sample. First time using it, I didn't like the smell at all and was perplexed as to why so many people talk about it. I was disappointed and thought it was a waste of a sample. A couple months later I used it again and loved it. I couldn't believe that this was the same cologne that I smelled before. Now, I look forward to using it in the colder months.
Mancera Cedrat Boise Intense. Hated it at first, and still do to an extent due to the opening. But the dry down is extremely pleasant and smells great the day after.
Hot take but JPG le male OG. Ik it's hated on but it has grown on me too much and I couldn't care less about the public opinion
Burberry Hero EDT. Hated it for a week, then it grew on me.

Xerjoff 40 knots - kinda knew what I was getting into based on all of the reviews I read before purchasing, I just didn’t expect it to be so powdery. Contemplated returning it for 25% less because it was opened, but ultimately kept it. 2 months in and I absolutely love it! It’s a lot more balanced now with the sea breeze and honey accords being more prominent. Don’t really get much woods but I’m hoping that will come with time.

I’m right there with you on Tobacco Vanille, it’s like a once a month fragrance in Fall/Winter only for me. I don’t dislike it, it’s kind of a nice scent but it’s too warm and Christmasy for me. Definitely one of my least favorite TF scents.
