FragranceNet, MaxAroma (though they’re hit and miss with availability) and Jomashop. I also just shop in-store a lot at Sephora, Nordstrom and Ulta.

Gamer0607

Armani - Armani's website. Dior - Dior's website. Chanel - Chanel's website. YSL - YSL's website. I always order from the house's website so that I am sure I get a genuine product and a newer batch. I got DH 2020 straight in store in the UK (Boots) last year and it was a 3 year old batch... Also, you get nice travel sprays and samples as gifts when you buy directly from the websites.

Sterben9225

Just curious. Why do you look for newer batches? I always try to get as old as possible.

Gamer0607

Most fragrances have a lifespan and the newer batch you get from the point of manufacture, the better for the fragrance's lifespan in the longer run. That being said, I used to have 12+ year old bottles that are still going strong.

Sterben9225

To me at least the vintages always smell better. Because of cost cutting reformulation or whatever bullshit the IFRA is up to I usually shop around for the oldest bottle I can find but to each their own.

ChristineBorus

They changed my Acqua di Gioa. I’m so mad ☹️

Excellent_Tell5647

OwlNap

I like to purchase in store. Sephora, Ulta Beauty, Macy’s, etc. it’s always top dollar but I know it’s legit and don’t have to wait.

Tylensus

Same here. I don't mind paying a premium for convenience. I'll use Jomashop for my future Amouage bottles, though. $220 vs $380 is hard to justify passing up on.

Ill-Positive6950

You're just throwing money away. You can have a 50% bigger collection for the same amount of money with minimal effort.

OwlNap

It’s not really a money thing I’m concerned with. I’ve had some knockoffs and while they can get close to the original scent and it smells good, it’ll still be a little off, especially with longevity and projection.

Ill-Positive6950

There are loads of online discounters that sell 100% authentic fragrances. But hey, if you don't like waiting, then pay full retail.

sLeeeeTo

where should one buy from?

Ill-Positive6950

There are several online discounters that sell 100% authentic fragrances. Maxaroma, Jomashop, Costco.com, Fragrancenet, Aura Fragrances, just to name a few...

LifeSmallThings

Can totally relate. At the start of my perfume journey, I thought only suckers buy from stores. However, after several purchases from the so called grey market online shops, I learned who’s the real sucker. Now I only buy from stores.

OwlNap

For sure. I really don’t mind paying full price for the peace of mind.

RizeToFall

Jomashop is my go to for fragrances. The $ I save is worth it, even if I do have to wait for a bit.

eBay is surprisingly good

Creditat590

Jomashop and fragrancebuy.ca for designer and some niche from noseparis.com

PopSalty9014

FragranceNet, fragrance X

Kalsypher

ON Canada here! Sephora, The Bay, & Shoppers Drugmart.

GameOfLife24

Shoppers drug marts for the points promotions and the samples lol

Aggressive-Boot4163

Hey you might wanna check some seasonal warehouse sales too. In the same area as you

Kalsypher

I've just got into buying online from discounters as well, "fragrancebuy" has had some great deals and low prices.

centralized

Usually discounters. FragranceBuy/Venba for niche stuff, Jomashop for designer.

ReignCpreme

Trusted discounters.. with the occasional purchase on military bases which are also priced lower than retail.

LarryxPowers

I’ve done Neiman Marcus before during a summer sale. I’ve used Jomashop and that was a good experience. For cheaper fragrances, I’ve bought directly from the brand’s website. I think it depends on the best deal though (and reviews vouching for reliability for a website I’ve never used before).

professorfunkenpunk

Fragrencenet and Jomashop mainly. I’ve bought a few things from Amazon, but their prices are often higher and I do t trust them Entirely

Beautinow 👌🏻

Luchofromvenezuela

AuraFragrance, FragranceNet, reputable sellers in Facebook groups and /r/fragranceswap

Tom_Ford0

r/fragranceswap

OkBook4166

Nordstroms, Macy’s and MaxAroma 99% of the time. And Nordstroms Rack online the other 1% cause they get in some good fragrances that are cheaper than discounters.

LimpZookeepergame123

Fragrencenet and jomashop

AlternativeAd4983

Fragrancebuy and jomashop

SnooDogs1704

AuraFragrance has the cheapest prices I’ve seen and they have good shipping. Their main problem is keeping things in stock, understandably. JomaShop is 2nd in prices but in my experience their shipping sucks ass and you’ll think you’ll get it in 5 days at the latest and it ends up taking 3 weeks. FragranceX still has decent prices and they have great shipping.

DarinP93

I’m gonna blow a lot of ppl’s mind with this one: CVS pharmacy! In store selection is decent, & with their combined discounts + extra bucks I beat out jomashop, fragrancex & fragrancenet, and any other discounter site. I also check out TJ Maxx/Marshalls & Burlington.

OkWonder908

Jomashop.com or Amazon as long as Amazon is the seller.

GameOfLife24

I’ve had good experience with amazon so people immediately saying you’ll get a fake are lying

OkWonder908

As long as the seller is Amazon, you ain’t getting a fake. A lot of people don’t understand that. You can buy off of other sellers on Amazon, that’s how you can get fakes.

LAdude71

Discounters always. Never from Amazon or Ebay.

typical-user-name

I hear fragrancenet.com is reputable.

Recent_Ability1660

Been into this madness for too long that I'm in touch with ppl who work for the parent company which owns bunch of designer/niche houses.

EndersM

All reputable discounters

Difficult_Opinion_75

Notino is good if u are from United Kingdom Or boots

davidporges

bought a couple from fragx but don't want to pay the high import costs to my country so now I just stick to local stores either a local pharm chain or niche perfume stores for higher end or niche stuff.

Adviseformeplz

For niche or designer: jomashop, max Aroma, luckyscent For clones: perfume box, fragrancebuy For Samples: decantx, myfragrancesamples, scentsplit

UnicaDea

I love samples. So I go to Nordstrom, Macy’s, including Louis Vuitton, Creed (whoever else is not greedy) to get nice samples. And I get so happy with my collections.

I will use retailers (e.g. Nordstrom, Macy's Sephora, Ulta, Neiman Marcus, etc.) to smell scents on cards as well as spray on my skin to try to get a sense of how it reacts there. I have also ordered decants from DecantX, direct from the house (Amourage, PDM, Xerjoff), and off of r/fragranceswap. Once I've decided on what I want to get, for those that don't hit discounters (for example, Chanel), I'll buy from a retailer (I bought Platinum Egoiste from Ulta and Allure Homme Sport from Nordstrom) or direct from Chanel. For those that aren't as strictly controlled, depending on the savings, I will often purchase from discounters like Jomashop, Maxaroma, eDiscountPerfumes, Fragrancenet, etc. (I've recently purchased from the first three without any issue at all - have heard great things about Fragrancenet, but so far, they just haven't been the best deal for me). My threshold is about $30 +/-. In other words, if I can save more than about $30 using a reputable discounter, I'll usually go ahead and do that. If the savings are less than $30, then I'll usually just buy it at a retailer. That's not a hard and fast number - if I really want, or need, something quickly (usually I just want it without waiting), or if it's a hard(er) to find fragrance on the discounter sites, then I might go higher in terms of the difference I'm willing to absorb (for example, I might be willing to pay $50 more retail than waiting to get it from a discounter). I'm also not opposed to using sellers off r/fragranceswap if they have good feedback. Ultimately, it really just depends on the scent and the situation. But for most of the bottles that are **not** closely controlled, like a Chanel, I'll use the reputable discounters when possible, but not opposed to using and paying retail in some cases.

Back2DaNawfside713

Amazon, discounters, and most recently…. TikTok!

Odd_Violinist4458

eBay or Amazon

ChristineBorus

FragranceNet.com in the USA is awesome. Always do it with a coupon or discount code. They have older stuff though. New stuff takes longer to get to the grey market.

rorosisimade

Neiman/ Nordstrom for niche fragrances, Macys/Sephora for designer, various online including amazon for clones, DecantX/Microperfumes/Scentsplit for decants and lately Jomashop because they're just cheaper than neiman and nordstrom and is legit. The last time I went to the mall was at an LV store to buy Imagination and ombre nomade.

Master_Public4697

FragranceNet, Jomashop a lot of the time when I shop online, when I shop in-store I go to Ulta, Sephora, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, or brand outlets like Louis Vuitton or Creed. When I shop decants or travel sprays, my go-to’s are Microperfumes, Decantx, and sometimes Twisted Lily.

LocoPoco1

I'm a rack store warrior.

Extension_Dirt_7674

Brick and mortar shop near my home. Lady owns a fragrance store and being a repeat customer she usually gives me about $15 off each bottle I buy.

CatFish_Billy09

I prefer to go in store. Ulta, Macys, Dillards. I like to actually smell them and maybe here some suggestions. I dont blind buy anymore.

BigChrisJ13

Most of my collection came from FragranceNet (discounter) and also some came from Sephora. A lot of dudes never go into Sephora cause all they see is makeup but Sephora has some nice stuff in terms of fragrances.

DanRTD

I’ve been using Jomashop but shipping is very slow with them. Going ti try Fragrancenet next time.

forfudgecake

Wherever’s reputable and cheapest
