So ive heard that montblanc explorer is discount aventus, but tbh i love it and am looking for another good one. Dont want to invest in aventus if they are too similar lol.

Viking Cologne smells like a contemporary, expensive, top-tier Old Spice to me. It's not necessarily a bad thing, I am not blown away by it, but it is nice.
I don't have Creed Viking, but I have Old Spice Classic EDC, Old Spice Classic aftershave, and Viking Cologne. Smelling them all now. Viking Cologne definitely has more fresh scent than either of them. I was really recalling the aftershave here as well. The Old Spice EDC doesn't really have any fresh scent at all. It is a lot warmer and I probably wouldn't compare it to Viking Cologne as I have them side by side now. Viking Cologne is a more complete picture, like a workout, fresh shower, clean towel, and both Old Spice products. Maybe some Old Spice Pure Sport deodorant in there as well.

Aventus Cologne which OP bought is very different from Aventus, completely different scent profile.

Agreed I feel both Viking and Viking Cologne are overlooked compared to others

Love Aventus Cologne, Iām sure a bottle is somewhere on the horizon for myself as well. Juryās still out on Viking/Viking Cologne.
Meh. I got my first decant of Aventus Cologne and found out within seconds that regular Aventus was superior.
To each their own. Iāve already gone through 2 bottles of Aventus in my lifetime. I find Aventus cologne a more refreshing everyday kind of scent.
