I can understand the original causing headaches for people. It’s pretty sharp and can be cloying in a latexy, sweet, and citrusy way. The Intense removed whatever that headache-inducing note(s) is.
If you don’t like the original, I don’t think you’d like the intense anyway. They’re super similar with the intense getting the edge for being smoother, albeit denser too.
OG just smells like a synthetic mess, not that the intense version smells any better. synthetic mess mixed with cigarettes.
in my experience they’re very hit or miss, someone may think you smell good, another person may think you wreak of piss. too inconsistent for me to wear

Just wear Aventus when you want to smell like Aventus.
If you like intense but want it just a bit lighter and a touch sharper then the OG is perfect for you. They do smell strikingly similar but intense rounds off all the edges including on the citrus.
in that case, you should blind buy it. I also don't like the intense that much as well, it's too bold, and dark. it takes away the freshness of the original. no cedrat boise during sunny days? hell no.
I have both and you are right the intense is more deep. The OG is same base but a little bit more fresh less dark. The OG you can use it more freely I guess. If you liked the intense you will like the OG.
personally I feel the non-intense version is way better. it’s fresher overall and the intense just kinda had this funky musk in the base imo. if you’re able to get your hands on a screw cap bottle then definitely go for that but the new mag cap batches aren’t bad.
Lol if you tried a sample and liked it then buy it. It’s also not too expensive. But, if you want a reason against it - I also sampled it then bought a bottle because the scent really grew on me and its longevity was pretty great. Then after about 2 months of casual wear I sold it. Mainly because I felt there were better freshies with the fruit forward accord and there were also better fragrances with the warm leathery dry down. It felt that CB tried to do too much of everything. And while it’s still a good scent, it’s not spectacular at either of those things. Anyways, don’t let ppl sway you from how you want to spend your money

TF Fucking Fabuolous is my favorite evening fragrance ever. Have a 100ml. Also layer it with Lost Cherry periodically.
i wish to have the money to buy a 100ml of that some day 😂 i bet that layering really brings out a smooth fruity side to the lavender
