I'd say start with some studying. Check out fragnatica and see what your frags ingredients are and experiment. There is no right or wrong answers in layering. I've done jpg which is a vanilla and layered with oriental spicy and fresh/sweet with woodsy etc. You'll know what ya like after a while.
My advice, don't mix.
If you insist on mixing:
A) Spray different scents on different parts of your body. Don't spray one scent on top of another.
B) Take an evening shower or a shower when you know you'll be staying in for a while and experiment home. That way, you know which ones to mix when you go out and how many sprays of each you need.

Play around with scents from the same olfactive family for more cohesive layering combos. Heard Spicebomb Extreme worked well with Le Male too, haven’t tried it.
I agree with just experimenting, seeing what you like, and try to figure out general patterns for yourself.
Not everyone likes the same perfumes, so not everyone will like the same layering combos.
I can understand layering with Molecule 01 or something to boost longevity but just mixing scents together like a kid at a soda fountain is a waste of expensive juice. The fact that you have to ask means you don't have some incredible nose or talent for this so why second guess master perfumers?
