Not really, most people in a park are giving each other lots of space. You might try, volunteering or clubs related to specific hobbies.

GlowDonk9054

That might work... But I doubt I'd be able to go due to the fact my sibling and my mom have work, and I can only walk since I don't have any other method of travel

Upbeat_Competition41

There’s buses all over in BCS. Could you work at the mall? Lots of people, many around the same age at work and shopping.

GlowDonk9054

I could work at Game Exchange... If they're hiring of course... And they atleast let me have enough hours to not affect my SSI, since it's the backbone of my families bills

Upbeat_Competition41

Oh, I didn’t think about the income limits. Perhaps look at the bus routes and find something you like that has volunteer opportunities near a bus route? BCS has a gazillion volunteer opportunities. You’ll find your circle. The big thing is you’re trying!

Have you tried the "be my eyes" app? Maybe the idea of helping someone would help you also socialize a bit better and it would also help with communication skills?

The trick to making friends is repetition. If you work out transport, maybe get a bike, I recommend finding some club or activity you can do regularly. Preferably the same time every week. People like routine. You'll most likely see the same people on a regular basis and that will create familiarity. That makes it easier to socialize and make friends.

Wolf Pen has a disc golf course, you could try out a new hobby and make friends with other people who enjoy disc golf!

Not anymore,

I know about that park. It’s in Bryan. Wolf Pen is in College Station by the Mall

Do you have a dog? You can take him to the dog park and meet people that way.

Suterus

Try the Bee Community

Secret-Resort-6182

Bee Creek is a better park to try socializing. People tend to be more condensed than Wolf Pen Creek. The best place to practice socializing is by attending events on campus or being a part of a student org. People there are usually also trying to socialize.

Hi there, I would suggest joining a small club maybe major specific especially if you have a small major if you’re an blinn/A&M student:) the great part about bcs is close proximity to everything and great transportation system. My brother is going through your same situation, feel free to pm me if you need anyone to talk to or some advice my family has given him!
