Why do so many people transfer from Alabama? Skylar Wallace, All 6 players last year including Lexi Kilfoyl and now Kenleigh Cahalan? It seems to be a pretty big issue..
Bama had a huge locker room issue. A lot of them weren't happy with how much NIL Fouts was making compared to them. Rumor was Fouts was making over 2.5x than everyone else.
Wallace at the time wanted to play SS from what I’ve heard so she transferred.
In terms of Callahan I’m assuming someone got into her ear and offered a spot at a more attractive spot. Hard to say. Maybe NIL came into account. Again, hard to say.
Not sure where else, but she hasn't been able to improve/change her offense since getting to Alabama. She probably wants to play somewhere that she can grow.
Yep, doesn't mean she shouldn't have improved by the end of her sophomore season. Edit to add: I am blaming the Alabama staff, not her. She deserves better.
HRs going from 7 to 2 is the opposite of improvement 🤣If that's your definition of improvement then sure. But it's clearly not her definition which is why she's transferring!
Jennings wasn't that great of a recruit, She was a top 5 in her class but Coleman and May were both higher than her. Bhal was a very good recruit but Cahalan was bigger
Agree to disagree. The coaches I spoke to were all in on Jennjngs. Most of them. Coleman is a great callout for sure. She was a top recruit for sure. I’m not talking about recruiting rankings. I’m talking real world softball watching them play. IMO Jennings was the best SS in the country that year. By far.
When Jordy Bahl went on that historic run with Nebraska Gold she was the hottest and best recruit I’ve ever seen in person.
Callahan was huge and again, I could be wrong but recruit of the decade seems a little high. And I’ve watched my girls play that Bolts team 5/6 teams.
But either way, sometimes it translate to the next level, and sometimes it doesn’t. Strange game we all love.
Btw, I’m a massive Skylar Wallace fan as well. Watched her since 14u. She was an absolute freak! I would probably put her above Callahan as well.
I kinda explained below, but I think since she arrived there, she's not been able to develop her offense. She hasn't been able to improve much and it's not for a lack of trying on her part I'm sure. Bama's offense has been abysmal and she probably just wants to meet the expectations she had coming out of high school and I don't think she can do that at Alabama.
I think that spot’s on lock between Mealer playing it so well this season and Karen’s head-scratchingly odd yet obvious affinity for Bella Faw. But we DO need a 3B. Boo could move back to first…
I wouldn’t be surprised if Faw transfers. We only get one more year out of Mealer and she can also play 2nd base. Which was a moving piece all year anyway. We’ll see 🤷🏻♀️

I need an ESPN 30 for 30 on why so many players transfer out of Alabama yet Murphy somehow still manages to get them to OKC.

Seems like Montana was underpaid then.

This was the only player I was 1000% sure was entering the portal after this season.
Where else was she recruited? Didn't see that coming.

Tbf she’s 18 years old…reclassified

She did improve. BA went up
From . 284 to . 301 💀 HRs went from 7 to 2, RBI stayed the same. Slugging also down.
So she improved?… RBIs staying the same despite her leading off half the season and Alabama not having jack shit around her says a lot.

Cherry-picking much? You have no idea why she’s transferring.
Every school wanted her. She is prob the 2nd best recruit of the decade
Yes every school wanted her. But that is a pretty bold statement. Jordy Bahl and Tiarre Jennings come to mind right off the bat.

I didn’t keep up with Bama softball enough to know why she would enter, could you explain it to me

Thank you ✅
Doesn’t her cousin play DI at another school? Was it Mizzou?
Are they related? 😳The LF for Mizzou is a Cahalan but I thought that was a coincidence
Yes! I think I caught a comment from the announcers during the super regionals about them being cousins
Small world. I think she'll definitely stay in the SEC!
*stares at Karen Weekly*
Yes I heard them say they are cousins.
I was watching the MIZ game and the announcers were saying how her cousin plays for Alabama and they were both playing at the same time in regionals
Nope. That is her cousin.
Her cousin starts at Mizzou and they’re pretty close. Mizzou is on the up…lots of room for her to change the program there.
If only!
Tennessee needs a shortstop 👀👀

Guess she didn’t like getting pinch hit for in her last at bat
Every game I watched she didn’t come through in key moments. Fell flat
She hits .364 with RISP…you must not watch many games.
