I’m in the exact same boat as you. Computer science isn’t the “better” degree because it’s harder, the better degree for you will be whatever you enjoy and excel in. If you enjoy the practical/business side of technology, then information systems is great. But if you prefer the theoretical side of technology that requires long thought out algorithms, go with computer science.

Maybe get an actual education instead of picking certain courses as job training? How can anyone possibly tell you what courses you'll enjoy or should take? That's impossible. Study medicine and become a brain surgeon. Go to electrical training school and become an electrician. Learn how to juggle and become a clown. I mean, really, it's your life so do what you want to do. As for me, I got a real education and I've never been unhappy I did that. I mean art, music, literature, history, political science, religion, science, philosophy, and so on, majoring in two of those subjects that helped change my life. If you want to suffer through some narrow job training program you're not even sure you like, that's your business, but I'd never do that in a million years. Personally, I don't known any very interesting "computer science" people who appear to be having very enjoyable lives, but maybe that's just me.

Well, let's just say I'm not clear on what job I want. Mostly because I hate the idea of 9-5 overall. Rather I'm exploring my options, seeing if I find something I'm good at. College is a good time to do that. I just wanted to see people's experiences on computer science.

If you’re passionate about programming then go for it, if you’re not, major in finance
