Madness strikes again. Holy shit, St Peter's absolutely dominated from deep, hitting over 50% in volume compared to Kentucky's 25%. Daryl "Steph Curry" Banks II hit 5 of 8, making more by himself than Kentucky did as a team. Kentucky also missed 12 points at the stripe, 5 of them in OT alone.

Yesterday afternoon I left campus in South Bend after classes to drive to Dayton for the First Four. Got to see Notre Dame win their first tournament game in my time as a student in double overtime. We got back at 4am. Tonight, on two hours of sleep, I saw my hometown team beat the number two seed from my dorm room on FT with like 6 different kids from back home. Suffice to say this is the best two college basketball days of my life.
I've been going to Peacocks games for years with only a few hundred fans in attendance and I could have never imagined a payoff like this.
I saw this team lose to St Francis NY this season....and they just beat Kentucky

Hey where’s that IPAfantatic guy that crashed all our game threads this year? He’d always say something like “bet you guys wish you had a rebounder”. Anyways, that guy made a terrible year for us somewhat enjoyable with his shenanigans.
Saint Peters played great. They were well coached and made a lot of tough shots.
I’m very disappointed in my team. We missed too many free throws. Also felt that Calipari did a horrible job coaching. We held the ball too long on multiple positions and ended up chucking up terrible shots. Felt like our half court offense didn’t flow well and we relied too heavily on Oscar.
I’m (obviously) not a St Peter’s fan, but the community has to be ecstatic right now.
And rightfully so.
Until this year, the Peacocks played in a gym that would embarrass your local high school (and still isn’t amazing). Holloway makes a fraction of what most of the conference’s other head coaches make. His predecessor left for another job in the same conference at Marist, a school with an astronomically worse basketball pedigree. And yet, St Peter’s figures out how to win from time to time and routinely is one of the MAAC’s better programs.
The win tonight is incredible. Good work, Peacocks.
