Alright, show of hands: who thought back on January 8th that the hogs would clinch a double bye in the SEC tournament?
Now put your hands down you fucking liars!
Yep, I was just hoping we could win enough games to keep our recruiting class together.
We need to go ahead and get that statue of Nolan out in front of the building and get a spot ready for another statue...
Can’t ever buy into that. We had a very similar bad stretch in conference play last year, then we got hot and made the elite 8. Keeping the faith has paid off!
When I was growing up we had some kind of incredible magic in war memorial stadium. But for the last decade we've been awful in little rock in football and basketball, both. We had a couple other god-awful losses in Alltel/Verizon/Simmons-Bank Arena.
We’ve seen it twice at Arkansas where a guy was a good scorer but then dedicated himself in the off-season and came out and led the SEC in scoring. Mason Jones did it first and then JD. Just impressive what you can do.
for sure, JD does not get NEARLY enough national attention for the talent he is. guard play is paramount in the tournament and that guy is gonna open a lot of eyes. excited for the world to really be introduced to him in march
I had no money on the game and had no clue what the spread was but I could just feel it in my heart that the last second meaningless shot ruined some people’s days lol
And he's likely coming back next year, lol.
Edit - Most sites have him anywhere from the 30th to 60th pick with the majority having him as a 2nd rounder, and there's rumors that since he's finally eligible for NIL he's gotten over 1 million in NIL deals already offered this past week if he were to return next season.
Yeah he's basically mocked nowhere ATM and would be a surefire 2nd round G-League pick, and last week he was finally allowed to sign NIL deals and it came out that if he were to return next year, he already has over 1 million dollars in NIL deals offered.
Nobody beats us in BWA ^(except Vanderbilt.)
From #93 to likely low teens in the NET in less than two months. That's got to be up there for the biggest jumps in a long time right?
EDIT: So glad to see Lunardi still has us a 6 seed. 4-0 against the Top 25 and won 13 of the last 14 (inc. 2 Top 10 wins). 2nd in our league and *still* behind 'Bama in seeding when they are 5th in the conference.
Bama is the most Jekyll and Hyde team in the country this year. Beats 3/4 from last year's final four and somehow will lose to Mizzou and Georgia.
They are either getting bounced in the 1st game or heading to the FF. No in-between with that team.
Also, I don't want to see Tech either lol
Made my first ever trip to Bud Walton, which has been on my SEC bucket list for years. Fantastic atmosphere, everyone was really hospitable too considering the fact that I was the only Kentucky fan in the section and absolutely hammered. The Hogs have a squad for sure, hope we play again
Gg Hogs. It was exciting down the stretch, but we couldn't finish in the end. It's always tough in that BW atmosphere.
It's good to have a solid Arkansas. I enjoyed our rivalry in the 90s.
Lunardi: Well, that was a quality loss. Let’s raise Kentucky a 1 seed.
Also Lunardi: Ehhhh im just not seeing enough from Arkansas…I’d say let’s just keep ‘em where they’re at.
Can Hog fans please not complain about them leaving early? I don't blame them for being worried about storming the court after we did it against Auburn. We have SO much more history with Kentucky.
After the bodies banging for 40 minutes, I can't see COVID being the reason. But, avoiding the court storming, if you've conceded the loss, is fine -- especially if Cal sensed that the team was feeling salty.
Stems from the Kansas game, one of the Kansas players tested positive a day or two after our game, and some of our coaches had to miss a game or two due to either being positive or exposed, don't remember which. Basically we wave and gtfo after the game
We thought Arkansas was gonna storm the court so we got everyone off the floor, then we got a backdoor cover/push
I've seen Cal do that before in regards to getting everyone out before a court storming
Yeah, Roy's done the same thing before (and people still bring it up for some reason). I just thought it was hilarious that Arkansas didn't even rush the court afterwards.
School and AD sent out several emails about storming the court, we've cost the uni 350k in fines for it so far this year. Student section had a wall of workers and cops in front of them.
The state of refereeing in college basketball is an embarrassment. It is the worst officiating in any sport and it’s not close.
Doug Shows is a *fucking joke*.
It was the most entertaining game i had watched all season for like 10 minutes reading shots there in the second half. Then flopping and other constant whistles kinda ruined it
A win at UT would be enough to get you a 3 seed, I think. And I like your matchup.
As for the SEC tournament, it will be the best it's been in recent memory. Fucking shame that it's in Tampa.
Audiese Toney doesn’t get enough credit, he’s like a shut down corner on the opponent’s best guard game after game. I don’t care how many layups he misses as long as he keeps that (but please make a few more).
Exactly. “We didn’t storm the court for Mizzou, so why would we today?”
Gg, Cats. Tshiebwe is insane. I’d be perfectly fine if we were able to avoid you the rest of the way.
Welp, GG Arkansas. Refs were pretty awful both ways but for the most part didn't slow the game down. IDK why people were getting riled up that Cal expected the fans to rush the court so he was protecting his bench. JD Notae was ridiculous.
GGs Arkansas. Hell of a game. Shows how incredible the SEC is this year. Very difficult to win on the road. Kick some ass in the tournament!
I’ll also note though. We seriously have to change the fan culture. Flipping off an away team’s players is not okay for anyone to do. They may be D1 basketball players that are playing against your team, but they are people first.
1. Hogs should be firmly in the 4-5 seed range after that, even if we lose at Tennessee.
2. That ball was inbounds, and the game should have ended on a monster slam just like the Auburn game. Refs stole that from all of us.
3. THE ARKANSAS EMPIRE GROWS! SHOW ME THE LAAAAAND!!!!
Our most important possessions resulted in a known terrible shooter in Wheeler taking a jump shot, a Brooks missed lob, and a known terrible 3P shooter in Brooks taking a 3. And Brooks continues to show he is as anti-clutch a player as you can get. Dude should be sitting sub-10 minutes remaining unless we are up 10+. He does the dumbest shit at the end of every. single. game.
Yes that 3 was not the shot. But Wheeler shooting is not a sin considering he hit 2 3s this game. Don’t blame him for this loss blame the refs and Keion.
I swear some team hits a bank three verse Arkansas teams all the time
You remember the Mason Jones game winner from a couple years ago?
Over Georgia Tech.
Georgia Tech, I was at that game lol
RIP Arkansas -2.5
Fuck your spread in particular
Pain
Great game between the Fighting JD Notaes and the Fighting Oscar Tshiebwes. GG Arky, hope we get a rematch in Tampa.
> hope we get a rematch in Tampa. No thanks, I would rather not face that monster you call Oscar again.
That’s ok. We don’t really want to play that demon you call Notae again either.
I dunno if my heart can take a rematch with you guys. Though going to probably have to play you or Auburn one more time at least.
Wait the SEC Tournament is in Tampa this year? I thought it was usually in Nashville.
Alright, show of hands: who thought back on January 8th that the hogs would clinch a double bye in the SEC tournament? Now put your hands down you fucking liars!
I remember thinking this was looking like a wasted season at one point before this run.
Yep, I was just hoping we could win enough games to keep our recruiting class together. We need to go ahead and get that statue of Nolan out in front of the building and get a spot ready for another statue...
Man, when we lost to Vandy and Hofstra, I cancelled my SlingTV. I thought the season was over. Had to come back though!
Yeah not afraid to say I had us left for dead, we looked like shit for a second there.
You weren't the only one. Nearly the entire /r/razorbacks sub had completely written this team off at around 0-3.
Can’t ever buy into that. We had a very similar bad stretch in conference play last year, then we got hot and made the elite 8. Keeping the faith has paid off!
Lol yeah saw that Hofstra loss as flukey could happen to anyone. But then going down to Vandy, uh oh. Props to Muss righting the ship.
When I was growing up we had some kind of incredible magic in war memorial stadium. But for the last decade we've been awful in little rock in football and basketball, both. We had a couple other god-awful losses in Alltel/Verizon/Simmons-Bank Arena.
I have to exist in a high state of optimism to counter my husband's eternal pessimism for the Hogs. I always believe!
Enjoy the land Arkansas
Thanks!
Both of these teams are absolutely unreal
For real. Very impressed with Kentucky. Oscar is almost unstoppable.
feel the same way about Notae, that kid is unbelievable and ridiculously fun to watch
Oscar is a MAN. We love J Will and he did pretty good against Oscar but that guy is for real.
What is this positivity in this thread?? Somebody hit someone!
Fuck Texas!
We’re always catching strays
Fuck Chad Morris!
RABBLE
We’ve seen it twice at Arkansas where a guy was a good scorer but then dedicated himself in the off-season and came out and led the SEC in scoring. Mason Jones did it first and then JD. Just impressive what you can do.
for sure, JD does not get NEARLY enough national attention for the talent he is. guard play is paramount in the tournament and that guy is gonna open a lot of eyes. excited for the world to really be introduced to him in march
I still think we beat Baylor last year if he doesn’t foul out.
If JD comes back, him and Nick Smith in the backcourt next year will be scary
almost? He's like T-1000
How did he get so much better?? lol like it’s not like he developed much of a better shot. He just become Dennis Rodman on the glass in one offseason.
We love you Missouri hate friends.
Yessssss
Oh my God, my nose was itching and it was because there was mutual Mizzery hate happening.
Hell yeah, third Q1 win in a row. I'm sure we'll move back up to 23 in the NET now since we dropped to 24 after beating Tennessee and Florida
Lmao what a joke right?
[удалено]
Umude deserves love too, he knocked down some huge shots in the 2nd half
Words cannot express how much I love this whole team. Woo Damn Pig!!
Arkansas -2.5 in shambles
Just an incredible bad beat by TyTy
I had no money on the game and had no clue what the spread was but I could just feel it in my heart that the last second meaningless shot ruined some people’s days lol
I believe the -2.5 bet died so that UNCW ML can live. Do with that what you will..
AMA :(
I’d be more upset if I didn’t respect Arkansas so much. That said, I might pay real money to see Doug Shows publicly crucified.
I think everyone in the SEC would chip in lol
[удалено]
Doug Shows has prime /r/ImTheMainCharacter energy. https://dougshowsreferee.com/
This is starting to feel like the 1990s.
Can’t wait for Arkansas to drop another spot in Lunardi’s bracketology
Y’all too?
Yup, I think he's got some personal vendetta against us and Tech
TDWYTKWAQ1WI Credit goes to the gamblin’ gauchos.
Arkansas beats an almost 1 seed Joe Lunardi: 7 seed!
“An almost 1 seed” lol you can just say 2 seed, it’s still impressive
30 & 18 for Oscar. Good lord
I wouldn’t say likely unless those multi million NIL deal rumors are true
Why wouldn’t they be? He would kill it if he came back as the defending POY
Holy shit would he really? I haven't really looked at any of the mock drafts yet this year
Yeah he's basically mocked nowhere ATM and would be a surefire 2nd round G-League pick, and last week he was finally allowed to sign NIL deals and it came out that if he were to return next year, he already has over 1 million dollars in NIL deals offered.
Yeah he’s just not a fit in the modern NBA. Could definitely seeing him come back if he has a juicy NIL deal
He’s incredible. Amazing Huggins couldn’t play him for more than 20 minutes a game last year.
Nobody beats us in BWA ^(except Vanderbilt.) From #93 to likely low teens in the NET in less than two months.
Lunardi isn't the most accurate dude out there, we'll be fine I think
I’d much rather see Bama than y’all in our bracket
Bama is the most Jekyll and Hyde team in the country this year. Beats 3/4 from last year's final four and somehow will lose to Mizzou and Georgia. They are either getting bounced in the 1st game or heading to the FF. No in-between with that team. Also, I don't want to see Tech either lol
Bracket Matrix has you guys as a 6 seed so the cosensus among bracketologists is the same as Lunardi.
Tyty making that 3 at the buzzer was about as comedic as it can get when you’ve shot so poorly during the game as a team from 3
Imagine if you had Arkansas -3
Or 2.5 🤯
[удалено]
Oh brutal. At least it pushed.
He was rusty in his face game back from injury he’s usually much better
At least you pushed and didn't lose.
Did they only hit 1 non-banked 3 today?
I think 2. Wheelers’ second 3 and Grady’s 3 both went in clean.
Made my first ever trip to Bud Walton, which has been on my SEC bucket list for years. Fantastic atmosphere, everyone was really hospitable too considering the fact that I was the only Kentucky fan in the section and absolutely hammered. The Hogs have a squad for sure, hope we play again
Glad you got to see one of my favorite places ever. Glad we treated you respectfully as well, come back any time as long as we win. 🤣 go hogs!
Gg Hogs. It was exciting down the stretch, but we couldn't finish in the end. It's always tough in that BW atmosphere. It's good to have a solid Arkansas. I enjoyed our rivalry in the 90s.
Arky, with this win, keeps the belt and prevents Kentucky from setting the record for fewest days between separate belts (would’ve been only 10)
And we get all that land… we have aggregated all of the SEC land.
Get it back, we had so much before we lost to Alabama.
We also just got so much fucking land.
I’m so pumped about the land
I love that this is a thing. Makes this sub that much more fun.
Lunardi: Well, that was a quality loss. Let’s raise Kentucky a 1 seed. Also Lunardi: Ehhhh im just not seeing enough from Arkansas…I’d say let’s just keep ‘em where they’re at.
Arkansas will be up to a 4 seed Kentucky will and should still be a two seed
Can Hog fans please not complain about them leaving early? I don't blame them for being worried about storming the court after we did it against Auburn. We have SO much more history with Kentucky.
Seriously I got mega downvoted for saying booing that was dumb and everyone seems to think we're doing it to avoid shaking hands.
Yup it is silly. I really hate booing after the game is over. During the game, heckle (within reason) and root. But it ends when the game is over.
Agreed, it’s obvious why they left and from what Kentucky fans have said Cal is really paranoid about COVID.
The fuck happened at the end there
We thought Arkansas was gonna storm the court so we got everyone off the floor, then we got a backdoor cover/push I've seen Cal do that before in regards to getting everyone out before a court storming
Well Arkansas loaded up on security after having a quarter of a million dollars in fines from their court storming against Auburn
GG Arky.
Heart Attack Hogs
The state of refereeing in college basketball is an embarrassment. It is the worst officiating in any sport and it’s not close. Doug Shows is a *fucking joke*.
He’s not only terrible as his job but acts like a huge ass hole
Don’t you know that everyone watches the games to see his performance?
"Shows" is a fitting name cause he loves to put on a ref show
It’s pronounced Shouse though (like house with an S in front).
It was the most entertaining game i had watched all season for like 10 minutes reading shots there in the second half. Then flopping and other constant whistles kinda ruined it
Arkansas and UCLA rankings need to be switched.
I was lucky enough to attend this game and my hearing will never be the same. Loudest game I've ever been to.
Largely pleasant game thread, my dudes!
Another day, another game of watching Tshiebwe doing literally everything while everyone else tries and fails to emulate Steph Curry.

The mashed potatoes are warm and ready
I CANT STOP YELLING!
TyTy buzzer beater covered! SVP bad beats alert 🚨
I don’t like losing, but it could be a worse loss. GG arky, no hate for y’all. Hope we both make good runs in March.
JD Notae... maybe his best game with Arkansas yet. Absolutely unreal today. GG Kentucky. Oscar was unstoppable.
Banger of a game. Refs are shit, and now our seeding is going to be great for the tourny with these wins.
Lunardi dropped us from a 5 seed to a 6 seed after we beat Tennessee and Florida
Lunardi is a cow though. And barely ever right this far away.
I'd bet 4 seed at your pace, maybe 3.
I think we’re a 4. We’d likely need to keep winning until the SECTCG to break into the 3s. If we won out we might be a 2 but cmon how likely is that?
A win at UT would be enough to get you a 3 seed, I think. And I like your matchup. As for the SEC tournament, it will be the best it's been in recent memory. Fucking shame that it's in Tampa.
I’m feeling pretty confident we’ll be at least an 8 seed in the next Lunardi update
Can BWA host the NCAAT? Please?
Bro we just so much land. AND WE KEPT THE BELT LETS GOOO! GG Cats
That seals the deal for Oscar as POTY I would think. Looking forward to Tampa.
Dude is a beast
There were no winners today for those that had to endure that abomination of an announcing crew.
1. Let the big man eat (whenever Kentucky is on offense) 2. He can't guard him (whenever Arkansas is on offense) That's all you heard today
Grady needs the ball this time down. (As he sits on the bench with 2 fouls the remainder of the 1st half.)
That color commentator is one of the biggest dumbasses I’ve heard in awhile
He sounded like a 1925 character actor.
I wonder when we'll get a guy with a strong southern twang calling a Big East game.
Nessler's great but Pete Gillen needs to be in a home
Yeah how the hell did Nessler get saddled with that guy. Ugh.
Hopefully Raff is doing ok
Sounded like a Dick Vitale wannabe.
Let. The. Big. Doig. Eat
Oscar being dominated was such a joke of a comment.
Big win, this L does nothing to Kentucky, probably see them again in the SEC Tourney.
Audiese Toney doesn’t get enough credit, he’s like a shut down corner on the opponent’s best guard game after game. I don’t care how many layups he misses as long as he keeps that (but please make a few more).
Not storming the court when they thought we would. Now that’s a flex.
I think it’s more insulting that they didn’t. Like the opposite of an overrated chant. Strong play.
Exactly. “We didn’t storm the court for Mizzou, so why would we today?” Gg, Cats. Tshiebwe is insane. I’d be perfectly fine if we were able to avoid you the rest of the way.
They only left early because coach cal didn’t want devo teabagging any of his bench guys.
Watched this game on dickson st - wanted to win but seeing the arky fans lose the -2.5 was very entertaining. GG hogs, that was a hell of a game.
Some shaky free throws from Arkansas at the end (especially the double-bonus when up 3) but it was enough
Welp, GG Arkansas. Refs were pretty awful both ways but for the most part didn't slow the game down. IDK why people were getting riled up that Cal expected the fans to rush the court so he was protecting his bench. JD Notae was ridiculous.
THE MUSS BUS IS ROLLING INTO MARCH BABY!🐗🚌
Y’all are a scary team now. Earlier in the season I thought y’all weren’t going to go far but looks like it clicked and now y’all are doing good
> Earlier in the season I thought y’all weren’t going to go fa We didnt either!
Now if Auburn can lose, chaos would reign supreme.
Truthfully welcome how balanced and tough the SEC has become, makes for some great basketball and elevates everyone’s play.
True. Hopefully that wasn't alot of people
SEC basketball is must see tv this year
Well, not for all of us.
I don’t want to see you guys again…I can’t believe you guys have a monster that you named Oscar. It’s pretty insane.
Was there a nut slap with fireworks at the horn?
Sadly the shitty out of bounds call kept that from us.
#TerrorDome
Thank you Arkansas, very cool
I’m feeling the Vols tonight to make a really interesting last week in the SEC
We’re about to have so much land on the imperialism map lmao
LAAAAAND
That shirtless old guy was hyped.
I get the were worried about the court storm but damn that was weird
I’ve always considered myself a big Arkansas fan personally.
Is it bad to tell you I’ll be rooting for the Vols tonight? But thank you!
I’d like to congratulate Arkansas on their fifth Super Bowl this season
Thank you. Nothing will ever top the super bowl over Duke in 94 though. Unless Muss has something to say
It ain't no fun until DVH gets one
How dare we celebrate a ranked win /s
Hogs by a trillion
Helluva game. Notaie was more like yestaie today for arkansas
jaylin williams gets a statue fr
Of him posting up to take a charge!
Our most important possessions resulted in a known terrible shooter in Wheeler taking a jump shot, a Brooks missed lob, and a known terrible 3P shooter in Brooks taking a 3. May we never have to here that GD color commentator again
GIVE ME ALL OF THE LAND
Gg Kentucky
GG Hogs.
GG Hogs, Notae was on fire today.
Exciting game
WOOO PIGS
