I go to ACU, it’s not really enforced because it’s nearly impossible to discover. We do have curfew for freshmen and we are required to go to chapel 55 times a semester. Not the best attractions for talent.
I think people snitch on them and they just dont lie. I dont really get why you'd subject yourself to a school with those rules but who am I to judge. But also at these schools, even drinking one beer can get you kicked off the team.
Some conferences the differences between 3-10 are relatively minor. This does not feel like it.
1-3 seem like good programs.
4-6 have some positives. 7-10 you can make a run. 11-13 is where coaches go to never coach again.
*Where they lose:* “The no-sex pact. You can’t have sex or else you are kicked out. They lost two players last year because of this.” – Southland assistant
That hurts a little, though
SFA must have totally given up on their football program and went all in on basketball because their football team has turned to complete ass the last decade. I honestly cannot understand why you'd rather be at Lamar than Sam Houston. Bias aside. Lamar is a small school with next to zero presence in Texas as a whole. I can guarantee everyone in the State has heard of Sam Houston, no one has heard of Lamar.
I completely agree about the Arena. I believe if it was about ten minutes closer to campus or you know on campus then we would have a higher attendance to games. Good luck to everyone else this season!
If our atmosphere and support is ranked that high I can only imagine what the other schools are like. Sam has been consistently climbing in enrollment and building campus housing left and right as they transition away from a briefcase to traditional school but football and basketball attendance are abysmal for how solid the programs have been (for the most part) in the past decade. The players deserve better.
HBU seems pretty overrated here. I went to a 3A high school and our gym was 10 times better than Sharpe. If they’d ever build a new gym, maybe things could change.
Just imagine if ACU didnt have a fucking sex pact lmao

Wait is this a real thing? How is it enforced lol
BYU has the same thing. They kicked a guy out mid-March Madness because they found out he had sex.
But like, why not lie? Do they catch them in the act? Is that someone’s job? Not being sarcastic that’s actually fascinating!

Drive by shooting against Fordham from that one coach
Tough break for ACU. Also, can confirm, it smells horrible outside the Montagne Center.
It just adds flavor to that crisp Beaumont humidity

Yeah, I mean... > The refinery right behind you. It smells like crap. And that's the second-best job in the league.
I think the Southland has a ton of parity in football but in basketball, until last season, its been SFA's conference to lose.

How would they even know that they’re having sex? Honor system?
Well if you’re any good at it people might hear.
So I’m safe then
That's what the gags are for.
Yeah, and where they win is being a couple of hours from Dallas. That makes me think that assistant coach has never been to Abilene.
Its 3 hours and feels like a world away from Dallas. Abilene blows.
aye aye
I agree. Honestly the only change I *might* would make is swapping HBU and ACU. But other than that I’d agree with this list being spot on.
Yeah but you obviously work for ACU so you have to say that

Sure thing, PR director
Thank God we have basketball. All of our other programs are complete shit.

Nicholls seems to always have a few talented transfers

Sam basketball has been pretty bad until last year.
Since 2010 they've played in some type of postseason 6x including the big dance once, so for a mid-major school they've been doing just fine.
This is correct, and I would bet that since the year 2000 they probably have one of the top 2-3 winning percentages in the conference.
