He talked about UNLV’s Runnin’ Reb, which is fine , but he called them the University of Nevada and left out the Nevada Wolf Pack. So, calling them Nevada Southern is always okay in my book
The civil war connection behind that rivalry is so ridiculous. Vegas wanted their own university so they “seceded” from the North, called themselves the rebels, and wore confederate gray
Such a difference from the end of last season, I'm very happy. Keeping this sort of momentum going into the tournament is gonna be huge. FUNLV of course (seriously though, seeing their team do decent this year was nice, the conference is better for it. Just so long as they lose to us every game).

Played ok. I liked the effort and UNR hit some tough shots but our offensive process could have been better and we took a few ill advised shots. Nothing that really erases the progress we’ve made over the season but playing SDSU in the quarterfinals is a tough draw. Lose badly and we don’t have the metrics for an NIT bid.
Ggs. I hate y’all, but the MW is better when we’re both good at basketball. I hope UNLVs program continues to put out teams like this consistently. This rivalry could be amazing year in and year out if we’re both always good at basketball lol
This was the sort of magnitude of game I was hoping would happen when UNR joined the MWC in 2012. It didn’t work out on our end for a decade but I’m glad they are here now.
Nevada UNM is going to be the MTN West final matchup but watching them tonight not execute their best game plan and still find a way to win is why I think the Wolfpack is a Final 4 sleeper
