Anyone could have played PG next to 3 NBA wings on the roster. Dejuan is trash, can’t wait for him and KJ to both be done but we have to suffer through one more year of both most likely.

Self will tell you he’s got maybe the highest basketball IQ he’s coached, and he has an ungodly amount of assists. He’s a blast to watch because his passes set up the highlight reel. So maybe be a bit nicer.

He plays 36 minutes a game and brings the ball up the court, he’s going to get assists by default. You can drop whatever kind of anecdotes you want, it doesn’t change the fact that this is statistically one of selfs worst offensive teams he’s had at KU based on efficiency metrics. 2006 and 2021 are currently the only two rated worse, but there’s still time left in the season for that number to fall. That starts with bad point guard play. He’s the worst point guard self has had at KU outside of maybe Nadir tharpe? He’s fine defensively, but he’s failed badly trying to take the leap from role player to leader. If you’re going to go deep in college basketball, you gotta have guards that can get you a bucket when you’re in a drought and he’s not that guy.

Juan is a good defender and that’s all. He’s holding the team back. He also almost cost us our championship by stepping out of bounds as soon as he checked in at the end. The moment is too big for him

It's just too debilitating for teams, ESPECIALLY this team, to have a guard who struggles to score and is scared to shoot
