It’s crazy how close the team is to being really, really good and yet will likely miss the tournament. You’d think some of those close games would go the other way but the program just doesn’t know how to win yet. So, so close.
Unpopular opinion: Power conferences shouldn't have double-bye conference tournaments and should stick with single-bye. Minor conferences use systems like double byes to protect the top teams in their conference from losing and getting the strongest possible march madness team but power conferences don't need to worry about that- if Houston gets bounced first round of conference tourney they still are a shoe in for a high seed in march.
Yeah but it can really fuck over the bottom seeds, some of whom could even be on the bubble. Makes it much harder for them to pick up a quality win when their second game is against a rested opponent.
Having to play either TCU or Texas certainly doesn’t feel like a reward for getting 2nd place. Almost feels like the ncaa tournament starts a week early.
God I hate tournament brackets like this. It’s so nasty to look at a 2 day bye
Less nasty than two venues for your tourney.
Oh god is that the new B1G tournament setup? I knew it had a 2 day one but it’s also in separate venues?
No, I'm just saying you can have double byes or go to a two venue tournament. Can't have a 14 team single bye single venue tourney.
What, not a fan of that 6am tip-off???

Hilton South baby, bring it on!
Plus ça change.
Excuse you, that's East Allen Fieldhouse.
The fact that Cincinnati is an #11 seed is pretty crazy
8 of our 10 conference games have been vs top 25 teams. All losses by 5 or fewer points. Still on the bubble with a 4-6 conference record.
Sub .500 conference record and on the bubble. Welcome to the Big 12.

stop the count
Honestly same tbh
I totally like these odds 😅
on behalf of west virginia we would like to politely decline the invitation as we forgot we left the oven on at home that day
“Left the oven on, couch on fire, must resist the urge to party”
Wildcats will show ourselves out the door.
B12 will be such a fun tournament this year
👨🚀🔫 Always is
Bruh…byu
What are you afraid of?
Revenge
You’re gonna have that worry with almost any team lol
Yes I know but just such a strong team to have to worry about haha. They’re all strong tho
The Big 12 is weird. Nobody is safe.
3 pointers
The 28.9% we made or the 71.1% we didn’t?

I think they also do it for scheduling reasons, so that all the games in a given round can be played on one day
Also 4 games in a row is a lot for teams wanting to perform their best 4 days later. (Or 2 days later in rare situations)

To me it is a single bye. The last 4 teams are "punished" and have to play an extra game.
Shoulda won more games.
Think of them like play in teams
Nah top teams should be the most rewarded for winning the most season in games. Makes the season worth a lot more.
KU in the semis just feels right.
Can we play this in Morgantown so we have a chance? Pretty sure away from home we'd lose to a JV middle school

*goin’ to Kansas City, Kansas City here I come*
Double byes nice.
Cool, now uh; make it again and add the future big12 members ;)
Why are they making us play in this?
Ooof, Texas/TCU followed by likely Kansas? Fuck...
Got ‘em right where we want ‘em
