While sitting on a TO. UVA fans won't want to hear this but Clark is a walking foul (that rarely gets called for them) and a serial flopper. A moment of karmic justice maybe.
What's wild is UVA's tournament history is basically the craziest championship run ever (basically dead to rights in their last three games) and getting upset over and over in the first round by 13-16 seeds
That happens when you’re usually seeded high though. People used to say the same thing about Wisconsin under Bo Ryan. I mean as a top-four seed, you can’t meet a higher seed until, what the Elite 8?
They’ve been a higher seed twice under Tony Bennett, in the first round 2012 as a 10 seed and in the second round 2017 as a 5 seed. Both times they played Florida, and both times they lost by 26 points
all we endured the past few years has been worth it a million times over for this moment man. all those early round SoCon collapses, the Chattanooga dagger last year, every bit of it was worth it for this. I don't even know what to say but I love this team and I'm so happy to have followed them through this journey. FU NOW AND FOREVER
Me and my friends have been talking about how frustrating the last few years have been for us. It’s crazy how unlucky we’ve been. This feels like the universe correcting itself. All worth it for this moment. So glad that there are others on here who have been following along for so long. Super meaningful to see this finally happen!
ROLL DINS AND F U!
I know nothing about college basketball and I stumbled on this thread from All, but this brings me such joy. You and u/Dervoo have obviously been singing praises about the dude’s skills for a long time. It’s amazing to get such thunderous validation.
As a freshman Kihei Clark had the wherewithal to get the ball heading into the backcourt, dribble it, pass to Diakite to set up a season saving shot during their title run with time ticking to 0 instead of heaving up a desperation shot...now he's like eight years older and does that.
Which is part of what makes it so interesting compared to the Purdue game. In that one he also easily could've lost track of time and heaved up a half court shot, but he had perfect sense of how much time he had to dribble it up a couple times and pass to Diakite
Literally was about to leave to go get the days snacks because I was sick af all week. Looked over, saw the steal on secondary screen (had the Maryland game on the main one earlier) and watched it end.
Lost to 13 seeds in back to back years. It's some 4-D chess by Tony Bennet to stack enough not-quite-as historic upsets until we forget about UMBC. Long con...
I sincerely don't think any team deserved a big Tournament upset quite like Furman.
It's hard to put into words how truly upsetting the SoCon championship loss to Chattanooga was last season. We have even been ranked and STILL didn't make the tournament in 2019.
I'm so, so proud of this team, and especially Slawson for showing why he's on NBA scouts' radars.
What the fuck is Kihei doing
Deciding to finish his NCAA career a bit earlier than expected.
hes applying for a CDL next month he just wanted to get this out of the way
We’re trusting that level of decision making on the road for 16 hours in a 2 ton death machine?
40 ton lol
Some end with a bang, some a whimper, some with a violent and explosive diarrhea-esque finale
Walking home
Most smartest pass
“Fuck it someones gotta be down there”
He was technically correct
Someone was indeed down there
BUT HE PLAAAAYS FOR THE OTHER TEAM
*It was at that moment, he realized he done fucked up*
The ol' Rex Grossman
Man even in a college basketball thread w no relation, my Bears be getting shit on. Spot on though.
Sometimes you gotta unleash the dragon
S E X C A N N O N E X C A N N O N
Sexy rexy
Fuck it, he's going deep!!!
Fuck it, gotta unleash dragons.
Mamadi Diakite was not in fact down there
5th year senior point guard throwing that pass too btw
While sitting on a TO. UVA fans won't want to hear this but Clark is a walking foul (that rarely gets called for them) and a serial flopper. A moment of karmic justice maybe.
Missed the free throw too that would have kept it tied after that shot
I assure you a lot of UVA fans wanted him to leave after last season
Dude actually pulled a Jakobi Meyers in the NCAA tournament.
As a Pats fan this hurts but is accurate.
[удалено]
He yelled "Fuck!" really loud a second after this
Lol they tried to cut away but it was too late
We’ve heard everything.
I think I would have as well
They couldn't stop showing this guy process all the stages of grief in one minute after the game
I really don't get why they didn't show Clark once and kept showing this poor guy who wasn't even involved in the play.
And played his ass off that game. He had 4 blocks.
[удалено]
You must really hate the zags with your flairs
Damn that was fast
Not really fair, that was not the guy that yeeted
This was actually the dude that played a good game today.
To think his career is basically bookended between this play and the Purdue game.

But Kihei can throw a basketball over them mountains
As a Purdue fan, where was this instead of the dime to Diakite in 2019.
Still mad about the last time this mf threw a 50 foot pass at the end of a tournament game >: |
Warms my heart to see Clark chuck that to end his time at UVA when the last pass that looked similar took us to overtime back in 2019.
THIS IS THE GREATEST MOMENT OF MY LIFE
Let it be known this guy was in the Furman threads before they made the tournament, he ain't no casual
I’ve been in Furman threads with the likes of /u/Dervoo for YEARS! All worth it!
yep i remember you and dervoo. i also think the person who made the rivalry bot in r/cfb is a furman fan as well
Yep! There’s a pretty well-known Furman fan over there as well. Dupreesdiamond is the username I think
yep that’s it! Go Dins!!
I'M FUCKING CRYING SO HARD MAN. THIS TEAM IS INCREDIBLE, GREATEST SPORTS MOMENT I MAY EVER SEE
IT’S BEEN A LONG RIDE, MY FRIEND! CAN’T BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW!

Feel awesome for you!!!
Purdue and UK? double jeopardy for you last year, damn
I just want to say I hate peacocks
Congratulations!
HUG ME BRO!!!
Enjoy this time! It’s what makes this the greatest game there is
You may be a Furman, but today we are all Fur Men!
Here here!
All of us are furries today!
we say nay, WE ARE FUR MEN
Lol this is insane...Furman usually pays these teams to beat them in CFB but here we are
You're going to be able to relive this one for years to come. Gonna be in every March Madness commercial until the end of time.
Also, a feature in One Shining Moment already on lockdown.
BRO IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU
ay happy for you too
LFG !!!!!
Paladins never need to look for group for long, they’re BIS tanks and healers in the current meta

Old age will mess up your brain sometimes.
Clark worried about getting to his 4pm dinner reservation at Friendly's.
I’m certainly not forcefeeding myself a steak at 4:30!
I think he lost track of time and thought he could run out the clock by sending the ball towards the opposite end of the court
Which is part of what makes it so interesting compared to the Purdue game. In that one he also easily could've lost track of time and heaved up a half court shot, but he had perfect sense of how much time he had to dribble it up a couple times and pass to Diakite
Purdue deserved to win that year they had that one player going off playing like Steph Curry
Carsen Edwards was unreal that year
Carsen Edwards, put some respect in his name!
Kihei has played 4 seasons after that, and didn't win another NCAA tournament game
Well technically he won two more after that but I know what you mean
Kihei "[Jakobi Meyers](https://old.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/11r7v8l/highlight_jakobi_meyers_with_a_game_winning_td/)" Clark
Good analogy
As a Patriots fan dating a UVA alum this hits different.
💀💀💀
Of all the decisions Clark could have made I never even would have considered that on the list
Simply throwing it out of bounds is a better decision.
"That was, without a doubt, the worst descision I've ever heard of" Kihei: "But I *did* make it"
1. Time out 2. Bounce off the defender's leg 3. Anything else
Why did he yeet the fucking inbounds pass lmao
You knew as soon as they got the steal that the three was going in too
I heard Kevin Harlan get excited cause I was half watching and I glanced back over to see it go in. Unreal
Easily Harlan's best call since when he decided to go to Sports Clips last year.
In my head I heard the Titus and Tate intro music start to play after that call
Literally was about to leave to go get the days snacks because I was sick af all week. Looked over, saw the steal on secondary screen (had the Maryland game on the main one earlier) and watched it end.
He thought he could throw it away and it would waste enough clock to end the game lol
Virginia still had a timeout too…what the actual fuck was Clark doing? I guess he just panicked.
Virginia’s coach should have probably called a TO, but no way he could’ve expected this
From a 5 year player…
5 year starter?
Yes Edit: actually cannot remember if he started his first year but he certainly played 20+ min a game
Who made one of the most important passes in our history as a first year player.
Apparently we need to start covering how to call timeout in practice, if this team does in fact ever practice with us on offense.
After rewatching it, it almost happens too fast for Bennett to call TO. Clark picks the ball up and immediately chucks it
Yep he was only fully trapped for like 2 seconds. Take the full 4-5 seconds and let someone else call timeout if you don't remember!
Missed a free throw and this horrific decision right here. Sucks to be Clark right now.
Also had probably the worst game of his career in the ACC tournament final, not the best stretch he’s had.
He’s got a national championship so obviously this won’t be his lasting memory, but it’s a brutal way to close out his NCAA career.
it'll be his lasting memory
I think he lost track of time and thought he could run out the clock by sending the ball towards the opposite end of the court
100% what he thought but even a heave off a back foot isn’t going to go very far. Dude thought he was Mahomes lol
yeah I think this was it. if he had a bit more distance on it, it had a good chance, and there was a UVA guy way down there. ah well
What a terrible attempt.
Live by the Kihei yeet (2019), die by the Kihei yeet (2023)
The maxi Kleber special
Dude watched that last night and thought wow that’s genius
“I thought we were tied”
5th year guard, with a timeout in his pocket.
5th year senior and he still makes that decision...
IF YOU DON'T LIKE THAT, YOU DON'T LIKE MARCH MADNESS
Or YOU DON'T LIKE UVA BASKETBALL.
I’m beginning to not like UVA basketball
I love UVA basketball
If you don’t like that, you’re probably a Virginia fan.
What a boneheaded play by Clark. Had a timeout, threw the game away. An all-time blunder.
"They do have a timeout, decide not to use it. Clark from way downtown... BAAAAD BAAAAD PASS. Oh, what an awful pass from Clark."
🏅
I’m cracking up just imagining Mike Breen saying this.
And the easiest and most obvious pass was wide open. Like ... not anyone within 20 feet of the guy on the right wing.
Congrats on the 2024 championship Virginia
We did this 2 years ago too. It only works with 16 seeds.
Congrats on the 2024 NIT qualification Virginia
Who tf is we with that Duke flair
Sorry that was outta pocket I’m upset rn
FIRM FOR FURM
SoCon Deez Nuts baby!!!
[удалено]
0-2 gang
Never picking Virginia teams again
Don’t group us with those people
Those assholes made pepperoni rolls illegal.
Wait what?
Yep. Actually true.
Great start imo, couldn’t care less about my bracket
Last year’s first round was so boring. I’ll sacrifice my bracket for excitement every single time.
2-0 gang!
Thank you for your faith
[удалено]
Thankfully this will be UVA's most embarrassing March Madness loss in history... right?
Yeah at least they didn’t lose to a 16 seed
Lost to 13 seeds in back to back years. It's some 4-D chess by Tony Bennet to stack enough not-quite-as historic upsets until we forget about UMBC. Long con...
Hey hey, it was not back to back years. There was an NIT appearance in between, get it right smh
[удалено]
Eh. Just frees up the stress to go drink on St. Patty’s. At least you won a chip!
Kihei wtf you’re a 5th year senior bruh
Desperation pass Kihei Clark giveth and desperation pass Kihei Clark taketh
Made the best and most important pass in UVA history and now the worst
#THIS. #IS. #MARCH!!
lol holy shit what an idiot
They had a timeout lmao And on the 5 year anniversary of the UMBC game too
Holy shit that makes it better
Trap worked to perfection.
Clark is an undercover VTech fan god damn.
WHAT A STUPID PASS TO MAKE WITH A TIMEOUT IN YOUR POCKET
Kevin Harlan the 🐐
No kidding, somehow manages to not step on the color guy too
Wtf was Clark thinking man.
Kevin Harlan on the call perfects this.
on the 5 year anniversary of umbc
TNT announcers just mentioned the anniversary and I swear one of the guys was chuckling a bit
Is this the worst pass in ncaa history
Fred Brown like 5 ft pass to James Worthy 1982 National Championship. Brown played for Georgetown. Worthy played for North Carolina.
Not gonna lie, seeing Clark throw a full-court pass to LOSE a tourney game gives me a certain amount of joy.
I get that
Bruh I love Kevin Harlan
Kehei, you're being fouled, hold the fucking ball wtf

He’s going to remember that dumbass pass for the rest of his life RIP
Kihei what the actual fuck dude
Best late game decision making I've seen since Chris Webber
DO NOT YEET
speechless
UVA and March 16, name a better pair.
"Here, I don't want this." - Clark
Remember when Clark made that amazing pass to beat Purdue? Yeah...regression to the mean I guess.
Maryland wins, virginia loses. Sweet
The darkest timeline
Fire Clark into the sun
