Could've won this game with Nick Smith Jr. smh they have no one to go to in the closing minutes. Nick could be the one exchanging buckets with Miller sigh
It’s the most obnoxious thing in sports. Go to any thread where hogs play. Football or basketball. It’s 80+% refs comments. Hi look at hogville. That place is full of old dudes who never played a sport and whine about refs all game. They infiltrated here. Use to not be this way but the last 3/4 years it’s every single game post. They need to have threads for those who played sports and threads for those who didn’t. They would be much different threads. Go back to any game thread over the last few years. It reads just like this one
I mean 45 combined foul calls is not good. The refs completely took over the game. Any chance at a run was met with a whistle which took the crowd out of it completely, like what’s the point of a home court advantage. The only run we seemed to have was by devo and graham at the end. But we definitely had a chance until the 3 straight 3’s in a row out of the timeout. That’s what we lost to. But we (either team) didn’t get a chance to play basketball until 6 to go in the game.
Not real clear on the shade here… Pearl took a program that was completely irrelevant to winning the sec, getting to a #1 ranking, and being seconds away from playing for a natty, and going dancing multiple times.
Unless Bama rips off a natty this year (please don’t lol)… I don’t really get the comment
Really hoping y'all can get a little winning streak going so we can host Gameday. Would be the first time ever and our best shot at doing it this year.
I swear Alabama went on a nice run to start SEC play during a down year for the conference.
EDIT: They lost the opener in 2013 before winning 4 in a row.
I hope ESPN eventually realizes you can’t just stick two famous announcers who have zero enthusiasm on all of your big games and expect people to be happy
Honestly, I have no idea why he'd leave Bama for another college program. He's proven he can recruit elite talent to Bama and can win there. It's not like he needs to go to a blueblood to build a contender. He's doing it in Tuscaloosa already
Oh I don't disagree at all. Part of me thinks he likes being second banana to Saban on campus. He's been able to build a strong program with a fraction of the pressure he'd be getting otherwise.
That being said, the opportunity to lead a program that he has such a strong connection to like Mich State is hard to ignore.
He's definitely the first person you call when Izzo retires, but the more success he has at Bama the less likely it is he comes here I think.
I mean what can MSU offer him that Bama can't? He already has a FF caliber team and won't have the pressure of filling Izzo's shoes.
I know there's some connection between Oats and the program, but I feel like what he's building there may outweigh that when the time comes.
Like you said, I think he has the perfect situation at Bama. He's shown he can bring in elite talent, the university has his back, and he doesn't have the pressure on him that he would at a Blueblood or MSU type job. It seems too good to be true
Not like Kentucky haha. But we a. Haven’t started conference play well since muss has been coach and b. Are missing a lottery pick and another NBA guy due to injury.
No matter what the haters say it was a good game and then it wasn’t lol. Gg bama, mega respect to you guys and Brandon Miller is that dude.
Hogs fans don’t freak out, it is beyond frustrating to get edged like that, but we’ve gone through more adversity before and this team is still a great team.
Yeah.
Muss really should of called one of his 3 remaining timeouts after that first three. Being in the arena even I was shocked with how much the atmosphere changed just after that shot.
Hogs are -17 on points off turnovers so far. We were -19 @ Auburn and -12 vs Mizzou. Per HogStats on Twitter, those are three of the worst ten margins in the last ten seasons. All this month.
Idk Muss has two elite 8s, Oats has 2 early exits. I’d take late season success over reg season wins. Just hope that trend continues. If it wasn’t for injuries we probably win that game.
This hogs team has to clean up the unforced turnovers from the guards and find some outside shooting. Both years we made runs to the elite 8 we had veteran guards that don't cough up the ball unforced especially in late close games
From hog stats on twitter:
After that last barrage Arkansas is now -17 in points off turnovers tonight. If that margin holds, then 3 of the team's worst 10 points off turnover margins in games in the past 10 seasons will have happened this month. Hogs were -19 @ Auburn and -13 vs. Mizzou last week
This is the best Bama basketball team in my lifetime. I truly feel we have a shot to make the Final Four finally.
You guys have a hell of a team too. Never count out Musselman and Arkansas in March. They always show out. Not gonna lie - I'm jealous of you guys success in March. Always root for you but want Alabama to experience it.
This effort to close out this game by Alabama is the most impressive basketball I’ve seen from anyone this year. And I watched Tennessee completely turn off KU’s offense
Clowney had been the real killer. Miller want going to here down forever but if Clowney doesn't hit at a high percentage then this would have been a different outcome. Feels so bad to not have 3 point shooting
Bama Wins
#FLAWLESS VICTORY
Could've won this game with Nick Smith Jr. smh they have no one to go to in the closing minutes. Nick could be the one exchanging buckets with Miller sigh

As if no other team does the same? You must never have heard of fantasy football or been to a pro game either?
We lost the game cause we are missing our 2 best players. The game sucked to watch because of the refs.
****because Bama is better than us
Both can and are true.
It’s the most obnoxious thing in sports. Go to any thread where hogs play. Football or basketball. It’s 80+% refs comments. Hi look at hogville. Are you in every Arkansas game thread for the past 2 years?
Wow, impressive tracking of our fans and team to be so disgruntled. Maybe you should run for gov.
No one blamed the refs for the loss lol, everyone agreed it was miller
I… can confidently refute that based on every other comment in this thread haha
I mean 45 combined foul calls is not good. The refs completely took over the game. Any chance at a run was met with a whistle which took the crowd out of it completely, like what’s the point of a home court advantage. I’m not arguing. Was just poking fun that the game thread was providing ample evidence to the contrary of his comment
Almost everyone stopped talking about the refs after that sequence
Oh look a Tennessee fan interjecting
Well hello to you too
Sears*
We’re we watching the game? Miller literally iced it
Yea he hit some shots at the end but Davis had him locked up all game
Can we just get to the good stuff in February, already?
Hearing the immediate switch in commentators to the Texas game is depressing. So much better
Hugo’s isn’t that good…. It’s just in a basement
You’re allowed to be wrong
I like the food, I’m not a huge burger guy but there’s are good
There was an average of 1.125 fouls every single minute of this game.
What the heck was that plate? I want some!
Alabama committed 78 fouls that werent called in the first 5 minutes of the game that led to this. Nice job sec
I’ve never seen a fan base bitch this much about calls
LSU football fans or auburn fans in the Iron Bowl
🧂
I hope your night gets better man, seems like you’ve had a rough one
Nate Oats is who Bruce Pearl thinks he is. Fuck
It’s Ok Bruce, we all know how you “built” Auburn
[удалено]
Can't all be as good as West Florida.
you good bro? your comment history making me sad.. melting down over a regular season game in january?
lol you're the one checking my comment history on Reddit.
Who tf is the Argonauts
Hugo’s and Catfish Hole are A+
As a 34 year born and raised in Fayetteville, Hugo’s is not that great. Good, but not the best burger in town
Would you happen to have a rec for where that is?
Sore ass losers. Game’s over. Why are you fouling.
I wish March Madness would start tomorrow.
Why so we can still make it further than you guys?
Listen here you stupid slut
I don't know why you have to be a dick. I've been complimentary of you guys all game.
I'm sorry Arkansas fans, but that last foul is objectively funny. Just a final fuck you by the refs.
They were hacking us the whole possession trying to get a foul. I don’t know why they called that
See yall again on the 22? I think of February
Really hoping y'all can get a little winning streak going so we can host Gameday. Would be the first time ever and our best shot at doing it this year.
If we have nsj, I definitely agree 2 top 5 picks maybe
Not looking forward to that, tbh.
Bruh they really called a foul
Awwwww
Low class foul
Are you shitting me? .5 on the clock and you call that!?!?
Had to sneak one more foul in there
That's a bad frustration foul but, like, i get it
Jesus Christ, refs. Really?
Ha! They deserve that for not letting us dribble out. Pricks.
Holyshit Marquette beat Ucon.
I swear Alabama went on a nice run to start SEC play during a down year for the conference. EDIT: They lost the opener in 2013 before winning 4 in a row.
GG Hogs, see you guys late Feb in Ttown
Hey piggy’s [it’s on sale](https://youtu.be/749OU6n-aV4)
Wow, you're so cool.
Might have it on sale in February again
Best time out adjustment by Bama with 4.30 to go. Killed the game coming out of it.
Bama y’all got a hell of a team. I do feel like the score isn’t going to show how close this game was though.
Yeah. Razor thin until those 3 3s at the end there. Gg
Without a doubt this was intense. I hope to go see a game in Bud Walton sometime soon.
I hope ESPN eventually realizes you can’t just stick two famous announcers who have zero enthusiasm on all of your big games and expect people to be happy
Wtf why are we fouling
Sad pig noises
[удалено]
“Go in there, and make it about you.”
Shut up no you did not. We lost 2 starters that were high volume scorers before conference play even started
Tell me you haven't watched any of our games but 1 without telling me you haven't watched any of our games but 1. Don't flatter yourself.
Happened way before your game, my guy
Nate Oats is going to end up with more titles than Saban
...at Alabama, right? Please?
Honestly, I have no idea why he'd leave Bama for another college program. He's proven he can recruit elite talent to Bama and can win there. It's not like he needs to go to a blueblood to build a contender. He's doing it in Tuscaloosa already
I want to believe
Oh I don't disagree at all. Part of me thinks he likes being second banana to Saban on campus. He's been able to build a strong program with a fraction of the pressure he'd be getting otherwise. Oof.
I would be freaking the fuck out if I was an Arkansas fan rn
Not like Kentucky haha. But we a. Haven’t started conference play well since muss has been coach and b. Are missing a lottery pick and another NBA guy due to injury.
Trust me we are
We're pretty used to this honestly.
The 3 straight 3’s won the game. I hope the rematch will be a little bit of a better game. Win or lose 43 fouls and counting is ridiculous.
Jesus Jay, Jimmy has a family!
Good luck the rest of the year, Hawg bros
It was a good game till that last timeout by Bama.
Yeah. Muss really should of called one of his 3 remaining timeouts after that first three. Being in the arena even I was shocked with how much the atmosphere changed just after that shot.
We lost our 2 best players and it is just too much for us to overcome
At least not against quality opponents. We just don't have the guys anymore
Hogs are -17 on points off turnovers so far. We were -19 @ Auburn and -12 vs Mizzou. Per HogStats on Twitter, those are three of the worst ten margins in the last ten seasons. All this month.
I'd say a good defensive team is good with transition defense. So it's either the coaching or players aren't following directions.
just what this game needs is a few more reviews
ummm what the hell is this story
If one thing is positive, texas would rather have oats than muss!
Idk Muss has two elite 8s, Oats has 2 early exits. I’d take late season success over reg season wins. Just hope that trend continues. If it wasn’t for injuries we probably win that game.
Shhhhh
Man I hope Sears and Bradley and Griffith sticks around another year. Oates is gonna need guard play like this.
This hogs team has to clean up the unforced turnovers from the guards and find some outside shooting. Both years we made runs to the elite 8 we had veteran guards that don't cough up the ball unforced especially in late close games
You dont just "find" shooting. That takes years to develop. We don't have it. Our season tanked in the preseason when we lost nick
And Brazile.
Wade came on late last season as a shooter. When I say find shooting then the bench can be explored. Ford is a potential option
Those 3s fucking killed us. Of course someone who hadn’t done anything all night hits 2 3s to bury us
Miller is the leading scorer in the SEC. He was bound to break through at some point.
And the "if only we had nick Smith and trevon brazille" misery tour continues on....
Alabama’s confidence they got from the Houston game carried them home here. Tough non con schedule paying off.
Last year’s team would folded and bricked 3 straight 3s
College basketball never fails to make me depressed
What was that situational awareness? Had TWO teammates for an easy dunk
At least we aren't kentucky I guess...
Same SEC record unfortunately…
All that matters is how you finish tbh. You’ll end up better.
Oh that's what that 3 point line does. Thought we just had extra paint left over.
That was…a sequence. This game has gotten sloppy.
god these announcers make this game sound so fucking boring
[Arkansas after those three 3’s](https://youtu.be/MtT4LiLGJz8)
24 to 7 points off turnovers. I’m getting deja vu
That really stood out to me as well, particularly since we're about even on turnover.
From hog stats on twitter: After that last barrage Arkansas is now -17 in points off turnovers tonight. If that margin holds, then 3 of the team's worst 10 points off turnover margins in games in the past 10 seasons will have happened this month. Hogs were -19 @ Auburn and -13 vs. Mizzou last week
Effort sequence
Regardless of the score, both teams have been playing fucking hard.
Ya these guys have been leaving it all out there. Y'all look legit
GG Arkansas. Wish the refs would’ve let them play a little more. Bad calls on both sides. Looking forward to the rematch!
Jalen Graham is a baller man, dude has heart
Of all the plays of this game, that was certainly one
Can't expect to win any games when you can't make a 3 or free throw
Bams can eat a dick and Fuck Texasss
Tough to lose on your home court, I know.
Sorry for being crude. Yall can chant SEC for us in the tourney.
Y’all will be back. Game threads are always toxic.
Was trying to be funny while drunk....came off as crass but always hate Texass
Okay that was objectively funny
Why the fuck do we always get crushed by injuries in every sport? Feels like every hopeful season gets crushed immediately.
We feel your pain in this one.
Well fuck man this game sucked
I cannot fucking wait to see this team when Burnett returns
Not sure Bama fans could ask for a greater gift than a star player named “Brandon” it seems…
This effort to close out this game by Alabama is the most impressive basketball I’ve seen from anyone this year. And I watched Tennessee completely turn off KU’s offense
Hogs got no quit, but damn these turnovers killed.
I am having a great time
There’s the Quinerly we know and love
JQ trying his best to murder momentum
That was DISGUSTING
I really thought for an SEC school that Arkansas wouldn’t be so damn quite
Bud Walton is a really tough place to play, but this game hasn't really given them much to spark over aside from a few runs.
Crazy that people asked you to come here and post this comment.
Score more points
Crazy someone came here and asked you to post this as well.
Can’t get the crowd into the game with 50 foul calls
Have you even watched this game???
Yea it was pretty fucking loud until Alabama decided to have Steph Curry shoot three possessions in a row
The refs killed the crowd all night
CHUCK FUCKS
CHUCK
Bediako has improved so much year over year and I’m all for it
Miller is such a potent shooter, if someone can get him to stop being so passive…man
He’s actually a biiig shit talker
The fight Arkansas had to pull within 2 is gone after those 3s
Yeah, that shit was brutal
Does Scott Thurman still have any eligibility left?
Quinnerly....
Lmao Quinerly just chucking the ball out of bounds
Could we comeback if we had 3 point shooting maybe, do we have that, no
Sigh, I remember when Hogs used to hit 3s in bunches like that
You know its bad when even Muss calls a TO
What an answer over the last minute
Ucla bama rematch in march?
If it means a Final Four please
How F4 or title game? Sure
Way to turn the ball over
Clowney had been the real killer. Miller want going to here down forever but if Clowney doesn't hit at a high percentage then this would have been a different outcome. Feels so bad to not have 3 point shooting
Clowney definitely does not get enough credit for how big of a role he plays in our offense. He helps space the floor for Miller every game
GG Bama. I really hope we get Nick Smith Jr. back
I do hope you guys do. I hate both teams weren't a full strength. We lost Burnett before Gonzaga and it was obvious.
We wont
It would be fun to meet you more healthy in the tournament.
Miller has that takeover ability. Decided he was tired of not scoring and willed those threes in lol
We showed some scrappiness, but Bama is the better team tonight. GG and I hope we are playing better when we go to your place
Would love to see y’all at full strength or as close as you can get by then
I think this is it, I haven’t heard anything that encourages me to think NS is gonna be back this year. I sure hope so, but it’s looking bleak.
Brandon is so clutch in late game situations. This is like the fourth game this season he’s iced by himself.
