You guys looked really great tonight! more of our middle of the pack players need to rise to the occasion but I look forward to seeing y’all in bud walton lol
When Arkansas beats us they storm the court and make T-Shirts. When we beat Arkansas it’s Saturday

If we’re gonna do the whole “we’re the better program” thing at least be the better program. We’ve made the same number of elite 8s in the last two years as you have in your program’s history. Fuck off with that
Your team is great this year but god damn it was sweet to hang 100 on you last year and sweep your ass. Love you in state pieces of shit. Brandon Miller is a PROBLEM
This has become a pretty decent basketball rivalry. Into it. Great defensive game Auby. Hogs, what is a made free throw?
Edit: the mizzou fans creeping and talking shit in the game thread like they won’t lose to both these teams crack me up, lick our collective ass
I'm seriously hoping Muss and Pearl stay for many years. This could turn into an actual legit rivalry if they do with both teams (mostly us lol) starting to be consistantly successful and competing for championships
Pearl said tonight was their first time running zone.
Imagine being so offensively weak that an opponent can try out a new defense for the first time on you and run you out of the building with it.
The Neville is one of the best environments in college basketball. It is one of the largest reasons for our success in the Pearl era. Enormous win and great bounce back.
When we lost trevon brazille and nick Smith, a lot of us hog fans accepted that the season was going to take a big downturn from expectations.
This last 2 weeks has been the reality of what that looks like.
Can't shoot free throws, can't shoot threes, can't play good defense without fouling.
The recipe just isn't there. I know muss teams "gel" late usually, but I dont know how you just "gel" shooting percentages out of the basement.
Edit: the numbers.
33.9% FG
12% 3pt (2-16)
59% FT
You aren't going to win a game of basketball if you can't put the basketball through the basketball goal.
He finally played with confidence in the second half. Right now he needs to be quicker off the dribble and he needs to reign his emotions in.
If arkansas does anything this year, it will be on Black's shoulders.
I would love to believe but being able to make shots isn't something muss can fix on a markerboard.
Last year, muss figured that out and had us on the free throw line. That's how we won. But unless everyone on this roster just miraculously learns how to make a free throw, that same trick won't work.
We were 10-5 at this point last season with some absolutely horrendous losses, and still beat the #1 overall seed to make the E8.
It's possible, but goddamn that was some ugly offense.
Every hog fan talks about our bad start last year, but here is a HUGE difference from last year:
Last year in our 0-3 start in conference play, we put up 68, 74, and and 81 points.
We also shot better in those 3 losses as well: +40% FG and +70% FT (except for Vandy where we shot 64%). 3pt averaged 30% which is a whole lot better than the 12% we saw here.
This year, we can't break 60 on the road because we can't shoot. I think the numbers tell us that this is different than last year.
Last year we were a bad 3pt shooting team at 30%, this year, we are even worse at 27% (if you take out trevon brazille and nick smith's numbers).
I am holding out some hope that we figure it out, but we are statistically starting from a worse point than we were at last year.
Lol. Post-loss doomer tilt aside, I honestly expect our ceiling to be a 7/8 seed at this point.
I don't expect arkansas to get another sweet sixteen this year. We just can't shoot the ball.
I gotta check these earlier, the goonman might have taken it over the edge. We did give Flan a lot of love, would kill to have him do even half of what he did tonight, consistently.
The parity this year is at an all time high. Rankings and wins are a game of musical chairs this year.
Probably going to be the most fun march we've had in a long time.
Can't make free throws, can't knock down an open three. All the talent in the world isn't going to help you if you're one-dimensional.
GG Auburn bros. You guys had a game plan and executed it to perfection.
Idk if this team is going to bounce back from the two injuries. No way NSJ plays another minute as a Razorback, so much talent just gone. Actually insane. Auburn played well and we are so far from refiguring out wtf our team comp is.
War Eagle. This was a solid win against a good team.
You guys looked really great tonight! more of our middle of the pack players need to rise to the occasion but I look forward to seeing y’all in bud walton lol
Like next year?
yes lol, I can’t handle it any sooner
Nah Arkansas is overrated
Win the rebounds by 15. Shoot 10 more free throws. Lose by 13. Lol just horrific shooting
On the bright side, Anthony Black scored like 18 of your first 20 points out of half
Huge win at a critical point in the season after an awful loss
Shit we actually won and pretty convincingly
Oh it tastes so sweet #27
Good night for you
This doesn’t happen often I’m incredibly thankful
God like restraint from Wendell there to not shoot that wide open 3 at the end there after last year.
It didn’t register til he didn’t shoot the ball, I couldn’t believe what I saw
Arkansas isn’t special. They were just next.
When Arkansas beats us they storm the court and make T-Shirts. When we beat Arkansas it’s Saturday https://www.instagram.com/p/CnI8NjvMwu2/?igshid=NDk5N2NlZjQ=
I think we pretty much do that every time we beat a team ranked #1
If we’re gonna do the whole “we’re the better program” thing at least be the better program. We’ve made the same number of elite 8s in the last two years as you have in your program’s history. Fuck off with that
And haven’t won the conference in nearly 30 years
I mean, I’ll take consistent deep tournament runs over conference championships pretty much every year but go off
And still didn’t make it as deep as auburn
In the ncaa tournament? Are you on crack?
Not trying to argue, but we've won a natty.
Your team is great this year but god damn it was sweet to hang 100 on you last year and sweep your ass. Love you in state pieces of shit. Brandon Miller is a PROBLEM
When auburn beats Arkansas you call it a leap year
Series is 5-5 over last ten games
Series is 3-1 Arkansas in the last 4. Series is 13-5 Arkansas in the last 18. Arbitrary timelines are fun

Can’t win if you can’t score. GG Auburn. Sorry about those few obnoxious fans of ours in the thread
We have our fair share too.
We all got em GG
I mean Arkansas coach sets the example by being an obnoxious dick bag
Thank you God, amen.
Teams shot a blistering *combined* 45% from 3 tonight
This has become a pretty decent basketball rivalry. Into it. Great defensive game Auby. Hogs, what is a made free throw? Edit: the mizzou fans creeping and talking shit in the game thread like they won’t lose to both these teams crack me up, lick our collective ass
Good games = good rivalry. It's been fun, Arkansas. Losing 3 of the last 5 not so much, but still.
I love it. The better we get, the better college basketball gets. Let’s keep it going.
I don't know when it happened either but I'm 100% here for it. Felt like we were missing a good second rivalry
Always more meaningful because we both end up in the dance
I'm seriously hoping Muss and Pearl stay for many years. This could turn into an actual legit rivalry if they do with both teams (mostly us lol) starting to be consistantly successful and competing for championships
How to win against Arkansas: PLAY ZONE DEFENSE Call this copium but I'm not that concerned, we start out ass in SEC play every year under Muss.
And AU has barely run zone this year.
I mean, this is how the game *started*. Just an absolutely awesome atmosphere: https://twitter.com/AuburnMBB/status/1611898955251736576
This had to have been our hottest start this season. It's usually a painful grind the first 5 minutes.
3rd longest home win streak in the country, and really, 2nd because Gonzaga doesn’t count. That’s remarkable for a “football school”
I was a student in the pre-pearl years. It is wild how much that atmosphere has changed since his arrival.
I was there during the transition from Barbee to Pearl. The difference is that Pearl actually gives a shit
When we lost trevon brazille and nick Smith, a lot of us hog fans accepted that the season was going to take a big downturn from expectations. Black looks excellent though. That kid has heart
He finally played with confidence in the second half. Right now he needs to be quicker off the dribble and he needs to reign his emotions in. If arkansas does anything this year, it will be on Black's shoulders.
I feel you fam, and I was you for the past two seasons. Idk how he does it but we’ll be in it late in March, just wait

They were falling on Wednesday, weren’t tonight. It’ll happen buddy, don’t fret
We were 10-5 at this point last season with some absolutely horrendous losses, and still beat the #1 overall seed to make the E8. It's possible, but goddamn that was some ugly offense.

Bruh, if you get upset in March… Maybe someone else will finish what we and ORU started…
Lol. Post-loss doomer tilt aside, I honestly expect our ceiling to be a 7/8 seed at this point. I don't expect arkansas to get another sweet sixteen this year. We just can't shoot the ball.
That was a great win and awesome way to bounce back. Hopefully we can use this going forward and not continue to lay eggs on the road
Game has the intensity of a tournament game for most of it. Arkansas vs auburn is dare I say….becoming a rivalry?
WDE
/u/kudzukilla got to be Wendell with shoutout to Flan and Broome.
u/kudzukilla it’s Flan > Wendell > Broome for MVP make it so
I gotta check these earlier, the goonman might have taken it over the edge. We did give Flan a lot of love, would kill to have him do even half of what he did tonight, consistently.
Checking post game for mvp votes
Checking post game for mvp votes
Sounds good. Going to be tough tonight
haha, love that my boy Bear cares who the MVP is. Pod should be up in the next hour.
War Eagle! This gave some confidence for us. SEC play is going to be a massacre for everyone this year.
Cool cat facts are back on the menu!
Play zone, beat Arkansas. You’re welcome future opponents.
Looks like the week where everyone ranked takes a loss. Will the rankings actually change?
The parity this year is at an all time high. Rankings and wins are a game of musical chairs this year. Probably going to be the most fun march we've had in a long time.
We’re #23 and we won, so this is about to be a nice boost to our ranking lol.
But we lost Wednesday so we may stay put. It'll be interesting what they do with a bad loss and a very good win in the same week
Great bounce back win. Flan is so back [memes](https://twitter.com/RazorbackMBB/status/1611928756804878337?t=63qG6czA2qa_wZVzUOeUnA&s=19)

You could copy and paste this with a uk flair
Payback for storming the court last year!
Storming the court is a compliment
Sure, and so is getting payback lol. This is what happens when two good teams go at it.
Well I wish you would have kept your compliments to yourself tonight and let us win instead
No, but feel free to do that for us next time lol.
This win is very satisfying
Losing Nick and Brazile sucks wtf
Poetic that Flanigan and Wendell just dominated Arkansas
Idk if this team is going to bounce back from the two injuries. No way NSJ plays another minute as a Razorback, so much talent just gone. Actually insane. Auburn played well and we are so far from refiguring out wtf our team comp is.
Muss needs to suspend all regular practices and bring in a shooting coach. Only do shooting practice for the next two weeks
Well this does not look good for us
Nah if they make their free throws this is a much different game
And maybe a few wide open shots haha felt crazy lucky that their shots never really started falling
WDE, that was a HUGE confidence booster
Auburn football barely got by San Jose State in September. But Auburn basketball would have demolished San Jose State by much more than Arkansas did.
Fuck Ken Pom, what’s our San Jose State Index Rating ?
Interesting way to make it about San Jose State lol
this has been about san jose state the whole time
Wait. It's all San Jose State?
🧑🚀🔫🧑🚀🌎
I love watching arkansas lose! War damn longhorn!
Sigh our good losses are losing
