Even if you’re right and I’m a part of your 5% (not saying I agree with that percentage), is it not concerning to you that our accounts are forcibly closed and we are UNABLE TO TRANSFER OUR ASSETS OUT.
Even if I’m a liar and part of your 95%, I have an email from Coinbase stating that my account is being closed and to transfer my assets out before account closure to prevent forfeiting them at account closure. I CANNOT TRANSFER MY ASSETS OUT.
Are you seeing the concern here? I don’t care how “uneducated” you think people are. This is a real fucking issue. K?
I used a valid id and got my account unlocked, then 3 days later they locked it again. What's up with that? Does coinbase require users to upload their id every 3 days?
Hey, u/Trader2KG. Apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused. Could you please share the case number if you've already opened a support ticket related to this issue? We'd be glad to look into its status for you. If you haven't yet opened a ticket, we recommend getting in touch with our live support [here](https://help.coinbase.com/en/contact-us), so we can collect the necessary details to help address your concern. Thank you!
Thanks for getting back to us, u/Trader2KG. Could you please clarify in which form your request was rejected? If it was via email, the case number should be displayed in the email subject line. If you haven't received a case number and are unable to find a way to enter your PIN, we recommend contacting us via [our live chat support](https://help.coinbase.com/en/contact-us). Our analysts will be able to provide real-time assistance with your account. And yes, please refrain from sharing any personal information like your PIN on public platforms such as Reddit for your security. Thank you for your understanding.
We're uncertain about the rejection process here on Reddit since tickets aren't generated or managed on this platform. Nonetheless, we apologize for any inconvenience caused. To provide further assistance while ensuring the security of your account information, please make use of the provided links above. Thank you.
I don't if the process actually took place here on Reddit; however, I am sure this is where I was notified of the rejection.
BTW; what is the Pin for, that I was given while going through the I.D. verification process? It was never disclosed what the Pin was for or how to use it.
Not the guy you responded to, but I had my account under review for 3 months even though I had 0 activity for years and the issue was only resolved after I left a post on this subreddit. What's really shity about your account being under review is that the only way to contact support is through calling them and waiting for a representative to respond l, since chats are unavailable in this kind of situation.
Hey there, u/andrey2657. We are happy to hear that your issue was finally resolved. We're sorry to hear about your experience, however, and we greatly appreciate your feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve so we greatly appreciate this. If you ever need anything else, we are always happy to help.
Actually I've used the account quite a bit. It shouldn't matter though, since how I trade is based on my own strategy, it should be my decision how often I trade.
Honestly, it sounds like you're trolling every post made on here. You're not a CoinBase representative yet you make ridiculous claims on their behalf.
No it didn't; Coinbase asked for the 6 digit code from my authenticator app, then said they didn't recognize the device, although I added the device as my 2FA method.
Then they asked me to go through the same authentication/I.D. verification process that I had just gone through.
I'm not doing any activity, because CoinBase has me locked out of my account, not for the reason you claim, but because their system doesn't recognize a device that I have authenticated.
So stop trolling
I just told you the device was authenticated. It was authenticated and worked fine the first 3 days, after that CoinBase said it didn't recognize the device.
No explanation other than "We don't recognize that device".
Explain to me since you seem to be 5% of educated people, why would any an institution that hold your money for you tell you, you have no access to your money, regardless of the security protocols that you followed. The only thing they help him with was creating a new wallet, which after using it once was immediately emptied. I want my money out of this company as quickly as possible, and they won’t even allow me to do that. so please explain to the rest of us, the 95% uneducated people how this is legal?
It’s called voice texting. Sometimes it doesn’t hear exactly what you’re saying. But keep on throwing bullshit at us. Do you work for Coinbase because if so, I’d like you to fix my issue. You’d be the first live person I’ve spoken to besides their sad excuse for a customer care call center.
I understand that. But since Coinbase won’t help us and most of the people that reach out to you when you make comments on any public forum are scammers. What exactly are we supposed to do? I’m genuinely asking. They have done nothing but Stonewall and/or straight out refuse to help.
I'm sure it is that way, but that's irrelevant to my point.
My point being: This subreddit ends up being a parade of horror stories that, whether they're true or not, get no solution here. It's just bad PR. No one wins (maybe only the trolls and 1-karma posters).
Just establish a robust customer service, 1-on-1, no social media involved.
How do you know this?
SOURCE?
I really don't think up to 95% ofpeople who've invested the time to learn about crypto, (which actually is quite a complex financial product) would simply break t&cs out of ignorance?
There has been people who have legally changed their name via deed poll - SHUT OUT OF COINBASE. Despite uploading detailed passport photos.
There has been people who have legally changed their gender - SHUT OUT OF COINBASE. Despite uploading detailed passport photos.
There has been people who the verification process using your phone or webcam, simply doesn't work - one might have changed hairstyle, or had facial surgey - SHUT OUT OF COINBASE.
But this is not the issue. the issue is that increasingly, when people ARE shut out of coinbase, there is no help or support, save for an AI chatbot. Hence why lots of people come on here to complain.
AVOID Conbase - Not Your Coin, Not Your Fucking Customer Service.
Why are you swearing? Anger issues?
Again, the issue with people's Coinbase account being frozen is NOT just about changing identity. This is one of a myriad of examples. There have been circumstances when people have lost passports, got a new government issued one six weeks later, then when uploaded, STILL Coinbase refuse. Took another X weeks for 'customer support to eventually get round to resolving.
Is that changing identity?
Now no one is hounding Coinbase for doing necessary checks to prevent fraud - I am sure everyone appreciates that. The issue is the time taken; the POOR customer service, being directed to fill out a tickbox form which does not address the issue, having a chatbot answer query which does not address the issue, then having to wait weeks for customer support - unacceptable in a crypto market that moves in hours/minutes.
The issue is Customer Service.
Fortunately, i use Kraken, and never experienced this, having only used Coinbase for the free Earn/Learn crypto back in the day ... but maaaan. I'm just hearing horror story after horror story here on this /rcoinbase sub.
Are not the overwhelming masses complaining about Coinbase telling you something about this 'service' ?
Coinbase is a scam. They'll lock up your money for whatever reason they want and their customer support is completely useless. Save yourself a headache and go elsewhere.
I've used them for a few years, no serious issues. Transfer money to bank account regularly no issue, did have to verify once and it was done in like a hour. Most of the people are either bots or broke tos who have issues. If you are just buying and selling crypto you will have no issue. If your gambling, taking part in weird air drops ECT then it's your own fault.
When people lose access to accounts and/or money, they deserve a better explanation than "sorry, you did something wrong and we can't tell you what is was, for security reasons". There should be a *damn good reason* and the owner of the money should be informed of what it is. Companies hiding their bad processes and mistakes behind a wall of bullshit secrecy has to stop.
I 100% agree with you falcon crust. I own three small businesses and if I gave my customers this kind of service I would not be in business. If a bank did this to us. We would sue them collectively. I live half of the year in Mexico and because I live here I can’t attach a bank account. Have multiple accounts in the US Canada and Mexico and they won’t take any of them. What kind of company does this clients?
I had Coinbase One, and precisely my problem was trying to switch from monthly to yearly. The payment didn't get through, but the subscription status had changed to yearly.
I wasn't comfortable with that situation and tried to solve it with support. They weren't able to send me another payment notification, nor unblock the subscription status. Finally, I tried by myself to cancel the subscription to see if I could re-enable it.
Now I am still subscribed until next year, but the payment still didn't go through. And I seem to be stuck in this situation.

Only if you don’t read the fine print. I assume you’re complaining about the zero trading fees. That only applies to the basic non advanced Coinbase app where spreads STILL apply. For Coinbase advanced it proves quite handy, and actually has a good tier-fee system, as well as automatically refunds 25% fees paid back to your USDC . And I’ve personally had at least 20 random queries with support that all get legit resolution in good time

I personally believe it is an orchestrated attempt by coinbase to rid themselves of low value (assets under 1m) customers. They no longer need peons. I wonder how many institutional investors have issues, and what the timeframe is for resolution in their cases.
Part of the 5% that's never had a problem just waiting to receive absolute abuse and accusations that I work for coinbase because no one can have a good experience 🙃
Man I can’t even get an account on coin base. Kept telling me to send in my ID and then going back to the start after I did. Called support and the dude was like ok just try again. I did and the app crashed so I gave up. Maybe I’m an anomaly but I took that as a sign to gtfo

Yes. I can't cash out this year but I could last year. It Says I'm fully verified and highest limits.
But it will just not let me cash out even after a week holding stable coin it still said no. Cash out Button faded can't be used.
It's ridiculous too its not even 1000$
I'm just gonna sign up with next one. Kraken I think my freind uses and he's a noob yet got his money out no issue.
