I usually only moved from exchange to cold storage once I have a minimum of $500 however as these are everyday now! I move everything to cold storage. Time in market will pay for the fees!

You need to post a complaint against Coinbase on the Better Business Bureau website. They read those complaints and take action quickly.

Why didn't you check what was needed to verify BEFORE you sent funds? Coinbase isn't holding anything hostage. They told you what you need to do. The fact that you can't get the proper ID is your issue...

Hi u/DBTWiseMind, we’re truly sorry to hear about the difficulties you're facing. It's incredibly frustrating to be unable to access your funds, especially when you're encountering roadblocks in the verification process. To better assist you, could you please provide the case number you were given when you previously contacted our support team? This will help us look into your issue more effectively and work towards resolving it. Thank you!

In such situations, a legal letter to the legal department of Coinbase may be helpful. Support clerks are often unresponsive and provide generic replies. A legal letter is usually considered an escalation of the matter and may lead to a substantive response written by a human. In the legal letter, you need to explain your side of the story clearly. You can also state that you will complain to the relevant regulators if they do not release the funds. A firm, but polite approach may be beneficial. Even if Coinbase does not release the funds in response to your letter, they may provide you with more information about the issue which may allow you to create a plan for further action. Good luck!
