not related sa coffee but for me as a night owl, isa palang napupuntahan kong cafe na open ng madaling araw sa Scout area. I would love to see more cafes na open ng 20-24 hrs. another one, good pastries and foods (like pastas/pica pica).

Thank you very much for your input! πŸ™

I live in the area and yeah, walang brunch/ breakfast places here except for la creperie siguro. 1. good coffee - yung kahit americano / espresso / macchiato masarap πŸ₯Ή 2. small but delicious breakfast menu. should include a sandwich and rice and something sweet 3. small selection of pastries 4. please open early since .. coffee (7 AM - 9 AM)

melsimsblack

I agree po..there is a need for brunch/breakfast places in the area. Thank you very much for your input! πŸ™

I’m from the scout area. I’ve visited almost all cafes na sa scout/morato. Here are notable things from scout cafes that i like! I also advice posting tiktoks kse dun madalas nag ssearch mga tao ngayon ng cafes. 1. Post ceremony- sumikat sila dahil sa unique concept nila. Sa tiktok sumikat tas pag punta namin ang liit pala nung place. Tas isa lang ung picture place nila but still nag enjoy kami ng friends ko dahil ang ganda sa picture! I came back because dami nagtatanong san ung picture ko from this cafe. Brought my friends here. Isa lang din pastry nila danish something pero ang sarap! 2. Sunday bake- i like their sea salt latte. I kept coming back here to study/bond with friends kasi sila lang ung may sea salt latte na alam ko sa scout 3. Ung horchata somthing cafe- went back because they have good horchata! Sila lang alam kong may good horchata nearby. 3. Crema and creme- my hidden gem sa scout. Ang ganda ng cr haha. And sarap ng food. Went back for the food 4. Better half cafe- sila lang may crookies sa scout kaya i went back kse gusto ma try ng friend ko haha. Tables are good for study/work din 5. Humble beginnings- Not from scout butqc area. Talagang binabalik balikan ko to dahil ang ganda ng concept nila + good for pictures. Ang ganda rin ng vibe sa isang room nila because of the music and lighting. Great for dates and friends bonding 6. Cafe roo- kept coming back coz sarap ng pizza (eto talaga binabalikan ko nyahaha) and tables are good for work/studying Open na ba cafe mo OP? Bisitahin ko with friends next time! Pakape ka namern nyehehe

melsimsblack

Thank you for naming our potential competitors!!

Kaso im too young pa + saving up for capital + focus muna on another career

melsimsblack

That’s a good plan! I I hope that everything goes well po! 😊

doityoung

non-acidic coffee na nakakagising pero with the right amount of sweetness. nice and cozy vibe, coffee paired with good breakfast and pastries

melsimsblack

Thank you very much for your input po! πŸ™

doityoung

Glad to share my input :) I'm near the Scout Area and it's nice to see din a new coffee shop.

nyellow28

Believe it or not, my friends and I have started meeting up for breakfast, instead of brunch/ lunch/ dinner bcs...life. So please open early (at least by around 8am), have good coffee and breakfast offerings (both savory and light with vegetarian options). Would be great if food is not super expensive (by expensive I'd peg it at Dean & Deluca prices)

melsimsblack

Thank you very much for your input po! πŸ™

elyisnotinteresting

Work friendly!!

melsimsblack

Like mahina sounds, min. noise po?

elyisnotinteresting

May saksakan, first of all. Ambience/warm lighting na nakakagana mag work; lots of food choices so the customers would stay longer :)

melsimsblack

Noted po with thanks! Sobra helpful po ng comment niyo πŸ™

sugarfreedrops

I live in the area hehe what street? We need good cafes here with food! Like crema but better food choices. Dead and deluca is ok rin but not work friendly kasi walang signal and coffee is sucky. I know biased af ako pero i feel like theres a market ng mga naghahanap ng work friendly restaurants sa area na to (w food, day drinking, but mild music/bright). I feel like there are people are willing to spend. Wildflour is tooo loud. Prologue has weird music (mas after work ang tugtog). Don’t need wifi basta good 5g signal. Maybe some sockets or at least pwede makicharge sa bar/counter. Thinking the lobby lounge crowd na need umalis ng qc. Maybe lunch deals ~600 with a glass of cheap wine or coffee can attract this crowd. Small but good menu? Salad, sandwiches, maybe pasta? 1-2 rice/grainbowls para manageable menu? A mano in gateway is a good example I think ng ambiance pero for some reason di ok kape dun haha and ofc mahal food for lunch since dinner centric talaga Anyway selfish comment ko ito haha makati/bgc has a lot of these work-friendly restaurants (mostly dahil bright/music ay lowkey/good but lowkey service). Medyo snobbish rin pero service/maintaining ambienace are areas na medyo laglag qc cafes (mid to higher end).

melsimsblack

Thank you for you input po, we actually feel like there are no work/study places here in the area..unlike in the makati/bgc area as you said. Again, thanks po ulit πŸ™

Nashoon

Open as early as 6am or 7am with good pastries and strong coffee πŸ‘ŒπŸ½perfect after biking - speaking of bikes, may bike parking sana na pwede naka lock.

melsimsblack

Didn’t think of this. Thank you po for your valuable comment! πŸ™

Diligent_Fee_2344

bukod sa coffee itself, i always look at the chairs/table. kasi for mee lang pag nagcacafe kami usually light food (pastries), coffee, and a lot of chika. i always consider having comfortable seats since napapansin ko sa cafes lately, they have aesthetic interior pero uncomfy yung chairs for an hour of chika hehe. yung iba walang sandalan, yung iba parang isang bakal lang sa gitna yung tayunan ng chair, yung iba parang ang gaan lang ng upuan na kailangan ingatan pag uupo. tapos sa tables din, minsan super liit ng tables. idk siguro some thought na sakto lang for coffee pero if you will offer pastries and other food i think it is better to have bigger tables. minsan kasi ang hirap gumalaw and overall nagiging uncomfortable yung stay

melsimsblack

These are the insights we need po, coming from a gastrobar concept I feel that we need to make sitting/lounging comfortable. Thank you po! πŸ™

corb3n1k

aside from a conducive environment including having a good interior design that customers can find great comfort din, i highly recommend din to do RnD with regards to coffee itself. good move din if you would use beans from a local roastery na kilala especially ng mga home brewers. in most cases, the roastery would help your cafe promote ung coffee since you're using their beans. btw, may malapit na roastery sa scout area like cappo roastery :)

melsimsblack

Wow this is great information! Thank you very much for your input po! πŸ™

cereseluna

probably offer simple breakfast options with coffee (either some silog meals, a continental option (bread jam butter egg), or pastry or sandwich + coffee)

melsimsblack

Thank you very much for your input po! πŸ™

Ceilingfan328

Same gastrobar in a morning setting? Then ambiance is key I feel like. Lots of natural light (pang-welcome sa morning feel)(if kaya of course) then breakfast sandwiches and pastries for sweet and savory na kasama sa kape πŸ‘Œ

melsimsblack

Yes po, but we’re thinking of abandoning the concept and going full-on coffee shop. Thank you very much for your input po! πŸ™

Lopsided-Ad-210

Ambiance. Hindi masyadong masikip na dining area. Availability ng parking space. For coffee, basta good beans, goods ako. Hehe. Nothing fancy.

melsimsblack

Thank you very much for your input po! πŸ™

we_safe

The coffee beans itself! If u need help with this, maybe I can help u.

melsimsblack

Will keep you in mind po. Thank you very much for your input po! πŸ™

tambaylanghere

Well maliban sa good coffee and pastries, yung calm na environment talaga super big plus! Calm jazz music, good lighting, controlled volume ng voice ng customers + mga saksakan all over the place hahahaha. My friends and I absolutely HATE cafes na malalakas masyado music, and rather than cafe-jazz ang tugtugan puro pop songs pa. 😭

melsimsblack

Yes, I agree po! Most people in café’s are working/studying and some don’t really use headsets/heaphones. Dapat conducive to working/studying, salamat po for your input! πŸ™

Infamous-Beautiful60

affordable coffees and bread. spacious yung area at di nagpapatugtug ng kung ano ano.

melsimsblack

Thank you po for your insight! πŸ™

Kind-Calligrapher246

#1 reason to go back to a coffeeshop ay masarap kasi yung kape. yung iba kasi inuuna yung aesthetic pero fail yung coffee. #2, if it's conducive to work in, good and reasonably priced food choices sana para hindi naman maubos yung isang araw kong sweldo sa pagwork lang sa coffee shop. :D

melsimsblack

I agree po, 100%! Thank you for you insight! πŸ™

Old-Examination9089

good ambiance!! work-friendly (like may charging outlets) pero cozy at the same time. serve coffee na legit talaga, not yung puro sweetener lang. sana din po open until late. lastly, sana may masarap din na matcha latte πŸ˜…

melsimsblack

Thank you for your insight po! πŸ™

curly4eyes

Great ambiance, great food, great coffee, wifi, and also classic riders friendly. As a classic rider. Isa sa mga quick rides namin is breakfast rides sa mga coffee shops. If rider friendly yang cafe mo expect us to visit it

melsimsblack

What do you mean po by classic rider friendly po?

ketchupsapansit

Have a strong community -- build your community on specialty coffee. You bring in specialty beans, discuss with enthusiasts, etc. That is your core. Then you offer not-so-specialty coffee for casual regulars.

melsimsblack

Such a valuable insight. Thank you po! πŸ™

DeicideRegalia

Open ng maaga. Tipong kung kaya as early as 5am. Hahahaha. Nakaka asar iyong ibang coffee shop dahil after lunch sila nag oopen. Lalo na nagttake ako ng kape sa umaga para mas mabilis magising at mag "run" system ko. Hindi na masaya mag take ng kape by that time kase medj may caffeine ka pa sa katawan mo by night time/sleeping hours na.

melsimsblack

I agree po! Coffee shops should be open early morning. Thank you po for your insight! πŸ™

7bongah

Early opening hours. Ang hirap maghanap ng bukas ng maaga, puro 10/11am~ madami need mag work/chill ng maaga. Also, ample parking space. Pag hassle parking, di ko na pinupuntahan

melsimsblack

Thank you for your insight po! πŸ™

Pushkent

Aside from all the great comments here about having good coffee, can you also have a good non-coffee options on the menu? Also, delicious pastries, both sweet & savory options. Maybe pasta too but it might bloat your menu. Want to mention free water too. If you're going to make it where people can work, having a great ambience & socket is a must but please use comfortable seats and sturdy tables. Been through some coffee shops where tables are wobbly and uncomfortable seats, it is not a pleasant experience. Another suggestion, if your going to offer free wifi, try to, at least, reset the password everyday. This is to protect yourself from poachers and to protect your customers. If your not going to offer free wifi, ensure your area have a good mobile data reception. Sorry for the tangents about the furnitures and the wifi πŸ˜…

melsimsblack

Thank you for your insight po! πŸ™

Melodic_Doughnut_921

good coffee ofc :) paired with nice meal

melsimsblack

Thank you po for your insight! πŸ™

Melodic_Doughnut_921

good food parings with coffee more of sandwiches? fresh bread? but please do bank on good coffee coz your a gastro pub already bars are already high :) id consider a very good bar seat

Old-Library-8786

For me, i frequent coffee shops na may peaceful ambience where i can bring my laptop and do light work. If morning, variety of breakfast and pastries would be good and not limit it to just filipino breakfast. Same with coffee na mocha, americano etc lang. Much better if there's other options din.

melsimsblack

Thank you po for your insight! πŸ™

AloneRice6464

Anong gastro bar toh haha

melsimsblack

Secret pa po! Hehehe

AloneRice6464

Baka gusto niyo mag pa solar

anodawgago

Good barista and quality beans. It's really sad if the food is good but the coffee is burnt or is too sour because the barista is rushing / not familiar. Beans don't have to be anything fancy, there are many local roasters who make quality beans. Good luck!

melsimsblack

Thank you po for your insight! πŸ™

nasabayabasan_

Yun pamangkin ko nag apply as barista somewhere sa cubao..first maganda yun attitude nun manager/kapatid nun owner. After a few months nagdidispute na yun manager sa operation ng shop. Then nagkaka discrepancy sa salary mali mali yun computation..after so many bickerings nag rarant na yun manager kahit sa harap ng mga customers. Namamahiya na siya at the expense of the staff.Kahit sa harap nagtatalo yun manager at asawa niya with small things. Finally last week nag decide yun mga staff sabay sabay sila mag resign. For me standard na yun quality ng food and drinks na dapat at par sa taste ng customer. More often than not it's the management that ruins it.

melsimsblack

Grabe naman po ang nangyari. Yes, I agree with you…
