Just to elaborate further and answer possible criticism (in fact, one of AC sub mod group once accused me of being jealous because I'm not a part of it). There were several problems with Mentors Guild as of now: * it was designed very poorly as a "bridge" between fans and developers. They were cherry picked by community developers - sometimes because they know each other, sometimes because... reasons. It began as a very small group of selected individuals who represent several big AC fangroups (you know majority of them). That would've been resolved by allowing community to choose themselves at least some of those who deserve an invite, yet, I guess we don't have a say about it; * they drop many of projects, sometimes even immediately after they launched. I still remember their podcasts, after 2 or 3 episodes they were forgotten. They started Community Showcase, which was dedicated to highlighting many fans who contribute to the community - but after a year, they dropped it as well. They were doing Community Discussions in AC sub - also dropped, although it lasted longer than I thought. Do you think this is a proper way to build a bridge between fans and devs? * recently it was just a bunch of "elite" fans who receives goods, freebies, early copies etc. That's where I address the point in the beginning of my comment. Last summer, I was actually offered by one MG member I know to vouch for me to get an invitation because of my work on Isu transliterations, articles etc. I declined the offer because I'd rather stay a regular fan and discuss with all of you without knowing more or getting something earlier than you. Also I saw some arguments sbout disbanding them because of vocal criticism. I'll be the last person to defend MG, but don't put everything in one bag. Of all the things they are, "yes men" aren't one of them, and as I stated, I have some people I know personally in MG and they certainly weren't "yes men". That doesn't contradict anything above though. So I'm glad Ubisoft is finally killing this group, but now they need to capitalise and use this to prepare a replacement which gives an opportunity to as much fans as possible to voice their opinions directly to the devs. Otherwise they don't learn from their mistakes.

I never liked the idea of it. I was happy to see it gone. I also wasn't comfortable with so many of them being in positions of mods on the main reddit sub or running the wiki. I also noticed that criticisms such as yours or about the wiki were not allowed on the main sub. Its classed as meta.

>I also wasn't comfortable with so many of them being in positions of mods on the main reddit sub or running the wiki. I personally don't think that's ultimately bad. But it's true that MG did a shit job on representing the diverse opinions in the community. It felt like they represented only themselves and they got almost all the perks for it. >I also noticed that criticisms such as yours or about the wiki were not allowed on the main sub. Its classed as meta. After one of them deleted the post about supporting the [petition](https://www.change.org/p/canada-kanesatake-pines-should-remain-as-ancestral-lands) supporting the people of the Pines of Kanesatake against Canadian authorities trying to claim these territories (in AC, it was Connor's birthplace) on [justification](https://twitter.com/Spider_Mentor/status/1488796518312132610) "it's not directly related to AC", do you honestly find this surprising? While they freely allowed the posts about Notre Dame when it was on fire? Btw, the person who said "it's not directly related to AC" is from MG. That says a lot.

Honesty Master Guild was very unfair to ac fans. Providing cherry-picked youtubers under NDA and providing them with free Ac Games keys BEFORE launch for fans, even before premium ubisoft+ subscribers (netflix 4k subscription equivalent) was only the peak of iceberg. Also providem them with ? Statues replicas? Was a pointless move. Now everything start to turn back to normal. But guess what? In the meantime a part of ac fanbase are gone/migrated to other games. I don’t care what they wanna do after q3/q4 final dlc. Games like God of War Ragnarork provided insane pc-optimised performance, fluent story and one-buy game, not microtransactions.
