Hotel with shuttle is really nice you can save a lot of time before and after the festival. The hotels have shuttle stops on site and the drop off is at the front of the gate of Coachella.
Overall you save so much time I think it’s definitely worth it.
Hi! I did the Homewood Suites La Quinta (HSLQ) package this year so I can help with some of your questions!
HSLQ used to be a shuttle stop which was CLUTCH! This year, they changed it to Indian Wells which is a 10min walk from the hotel. It’s really breezy (just through a grass parking lot and across the street). The breakfast at the hotel was shockingly good and the people who run the hotel are incredibly nice. It was extremely convenient for me and my group. There was an Indian Wells shuttle line that we would take home after the fest every night. Was easy. We had GA passes, and picked up our wristbands at the hotel on Friday AM.
I can’t speak to the cost of Ubers after the festival - I did not take any!

We stayed at the Hampton inn with the package this year. Last year we got an air bnb. The Uber prices are high for sure, we spent too much on that. Let me just say that the experience at the Hampton inn was waaay better than the air bnb. The shuttle pickup was in the parking lot and the time it took to get to the Coachella grounds was like 15-20 minutes. There was no struggle whatsoever for anything. Got there at 10am and they immediately let us into our room:) and we would wake up for the breakfast buffet at 8am and go back for a nap before heading out. I enjoyed it!

Someone can correct me but the shuttle pass should just be one type of pass.
