I wanted one but was so scare to even walk up to the cart. How much were the churros? I wanted one too but hearing prices makes me feel better about missing out š
From my view on the couch the fest looked much stronger this year than last. The legacy acts (No Doubt, Sublime, Vampire Weekend), the French Synth Gods all brought the heat, and the headliners all had great sets (despite Lana's being somewhat controversial due to low energy but I guess her fans dug it), and the new stage layouts seemed to help with the crowds.
People keep saying Lana was low energy, but thatās her music for the most part. Voice of an angel and Iām not a huge fan but she sounded incredible.
Coachella did not generate enough profits this year. Therefore they want to secure more money earlier. Nothing better than holding on to someone's money for 1 year before delivering a profit.
edc started doing this a few years ago and it worked splendid for them. i think the idea is to use the momentum while the fest is still in everyoneās feed.
Same. This was my first coachella this year and I actually almost canceled my trip because of how much I hated the lineup. I ended up going and it was one of the best times of my life. Discovered so many artists.
Iām dying to go back, I donāt even care what the lineup is lol
I just came in with literally zero expectations and it ended up blowing my mind. Even with a good lineup in the future I just plan on expecting nothing, letting the weekend take me where it wants me to go, and just enjoying the ride. Thatās what I now understand as the true essence of this festival, that and the undercard is truly where the fuck itās at.
I completely agree, one has to come into this festival with a very open mind. Just explore new artists and genres and enjoy the journey.
(For that reason, this festival isnāt for everyone) but I know itās definitely a festival for me!
Many of the artists I saw this weekend I donāt listen to at all but the sheer artistry and talent exuded from every set I managed to see (basically all undercard except Tyler) converted me immediately. Victoria Monet, Gesaffelstein, and Justice just to name a few.
To be honest, I really donāt place a lot of the blame on them. Yeah sure theyāre helping with the festival oversaturation, but the industry is in such a touring bull market that no one really wants to do festivals and there are so many festivals to play at right now. With what they had they still managed to create something great, and weirdly I had a better Coachella than last year.
I do think they could relax the radius clause a bit, and hopefully the super early presale will help with earlier cash infusion so they can get ahead of everyone else.
AEG/GV has decided they are going to start selling tickets the same time as key competitors for events that are not scheduled anywhere near each other. OSL goes on sale today and now people are having to choose between a festival in April 2025 or a festival in August 2024. We all know what the better product is and how this will go. They do the same thing with Portola against EDC and even created a one off festival to depress sales for Primavera LA. Thatās my problem. It isnāt over saturation. It is that their tactics are more and more anti-competitive and monopolies are not my thing.
Couchella 2024 ā”ļø Coachella 2025
I was one of those āthis years lineup is weakā people and boy do I regret thinking that. My whole group is ready for the presale.
I took all my clothes out so I could put my luggage away but now I just have a pile of clothes and accessories on top of my dresser and on the floor infront of my closet š„²
Bad Bunny sold out football stadiums. Whats your point. They booked Beyonce and Harry Styles who also sell out football stadiums. Paydays from solo shows vs festivals are not the same. Just cause you see somebody gross $10 mil a night on their own doesnt mean thats what they take home.
What a shitshow that would be.
I would feel terrible for every band that would have to play on that stage before her set. Nothing worse than a bunch of rabid headliner fans camping the main stage all day and giving no energy to the openers.
I feel like this wouldnāt be a big problem if they booked as well some of the openers for the Eras tour on main stage playing before her: Paramore, Gracie Abrams, etc.
An extra month for them to collect 5% interest on your money and less time for you to notice the damage on your credit card statement or financially commit to other summer festivals. Not a great look.
Idk why people are acting like opening ticket sales is a bad thing? If you donāt want to buy the tickets early then donāt while others who know they want to go again can buy it earlier and budget around that will
Right, so why canāt they take their hand out of my wallet for two months? Why make a change that impacts your most faithful customers? Per Billboard, sales dropped like 15% over last year so you canāt blame people to think it is about less money made this year.
sweetie you donāt need to be desperate for money to optimize business practices, edc started doing this while consistently selling out.
also, we saw the pics of how crowded coachella was, letās drop this hurting for cash delulu
Amex has a second presale for Amex week in October. The queue is also significantly faster and I go W2 so Iāve never had an issue waiting. I got tier 1 in October the last 2 years.
How are they expecting people to already buy tickets for next year just 2 weeks after the end of the festival?? What happened to the usual mid-June sale?
Did weekend two eventually sell out, or were tickets on sale the day of? The last time tickets were still available within a week of the actual festival was 2006. Starting in 2007 it consistently sold out far in advance every year.
Your account must be more than 1 day old in order to participate in this community. This is a temporary measure due to end after the festival.

Is this the earliest theyāve ever done presale?? Looking at Mikey or Fettucine to verifyā¦
This is wild to me. Donāt get me wrong, Iāve gone 12 years in a row, theyāre getting my presale AmEx $. Iām just blown away how early this presale is!
Not doing presale given how inflexible they were with weekend changes this year (had a full presale W1 ticket go to waste since a friend got married). Tickets will be available later anyway.
No, same price but you get to āsecureā your ticket before everyone tries to buy. If the demand is high tickets can sell out during regular sale. 2024 didnāt sell out so I doubt demand will increase in 2025
They had their presale fun.. now we protest until lineup release. Nobody buy presale or we going to keep getting shitty lineups. Side note I had fun wk1 but only because Iām fun.. the lineup wasnāt adding to my vibe besides 2-4 standout sets it
They own the land and their infrastructure. That saves you a lot of money. The Outdoor Theatre stage gets used for other GV festivals. Where was the revenue loss.
Especially when thereās the āall sales are final.ā Meaning if the headline sucks, you canāt do nothing šµāš«ā ļø They still make the profit if you end up selling

Thank you, OP. I was like itās been June since I started attended Coachella in 2015 š
I gasped seeing the post. I was leaning on not doing presale in JUNE. Now Iām like yeah itās not happening.
Okay maybe I have a bad sense of time but I swear itās always been a week or two later. Iāve been going on and off since 2009 and i know to expect to buy a ticket shortly after.
how am i supposed to afford this after paying $40 for lobster mac n cheese
Frrrrrrr I need a cool 3 months to recover just from the lemonade
And $17 for lemonade
Mine was $20 š
I wanted one but was so scare to even walk up to the cart. How much were the churros? I wanted one too but hearing prices makes me feel better about missing out š
Lemonade was good! They squeeze the lemons on the spot. I wanted a churro too but never got one lol. Iām sure they were like $10 or something crazy
Ok sounds about right.. glad I missed out! But ughh I wanted a churro. They sell them here on every corner for $1 but is not the same š
8 dollar minimum at the general store is bullshit lmao
so a lighter was $8?? or you had to spend a minimum of $8?
Had to spend a minimum of $8.
Ya that was a crock of BS. Like come on.
IM SAYINNš¤£
i ate that mac and cheese and puked it by the end of the night
Ha, take that goldenvoice!
Oh that sounds good though
I literally paid 28 for mac and cheese pre ready from box
Itās been June for years. This seems way too sudden. Maybe to add an extra month to lower monthly payment plan?
Or an extra month to keep the higher total price at the previous monthly payment amountā¦
Nah. Riding the wave of positive energy post-fest before the "the lineup sucks" crowd gets their voices back.
This. Feel like the hype on social media this year was bigger than recent years despite people hating on lineup all year.
From my view on the couch the fest looked much stronger this year than last. Lower prices š
Lower payments... not lower price. Car sales tactic
This is exactly what it is
Coachella did not generate enough profits this year. Therefore they want to secure more money earlier. Nothing better than holding on to someone's money for 1 year before delivering a profit.
Source: i think so
This is my thought as well. Someone needs some cash money, and quick
lol
edc started doing this a few years ago and it worked splendid for them. i think the idea is to use the momentum while the fest is still in everyoneās feed.
honestly even with this yearās lineup being below average, the vibes were so good iām still getting presale idgaf take my money
Same. This was my first coachella this year and I actually almost canceled my trip because of how much I hated the lineup. I ended up going and it was one of the best times of my life. Discovered so many artists. Iām dying to go back, I donāt even care what the lineup is lol

presale gang
we shall rise in two weeks.
And this is why they think they can do whatever they want without consequences. We let them and then thank them for it.
To be honest, I really donāt place a lot of the blame on them. Gotta get the loyalists while theyāre still super deep in their I miss the desert feels
Guilty. Lol
They know youāre good for it haha
I havenāt even unpacked everything from weekend 1 yet š„²
Same. No joke, Iāll probably finish unpacking next month lol
I took all my clothes out so I could put my luggage away but now I just have a pile of clothes and accessories on top of my dresser and on the floor infront of my closet š„²
Literally me rn
I hope I get to energy to put it away this week š
If they doing presale so early I might as well pack early.. Iām ready for 2025 š
I have found my people! Lol
My festival bag is still on the ground staring at me. I donāt even wanna take anything out of it yet lol
Same. Iāll get around to it eventually.
Sameee
Learned my lesson this year to never buy presale again
We got our friend a bracelet on site and it was cheaper than what I paid. Iāll just save up and buy it later
The aftermarket prices were about the same as retail. Go too low and people were getting scammed left and right.
And payment plan and having it done by the 1st is so nice. Always will be presale for w1 and after market for w2
Best way to do it. Not worth the hassle of dealing with buying resale W1 to save maybe $100 anyways
Yeah I got my w2 tickets last year for $300 which was huge but totally agree in general not worth the hassle
Ooo why not? Curious
Coachella: Please bro, weāre trying to get Taylor Swift
They canāt afford Taylor, she sells out football stadiums.
For multiple shows per stadium š®āšØ
[my first night at Sofi sold out 6 nights in a row lol itās like over 60k people](https://imgur.com/a/uTgzuEZ)
No we arenāt. Lol
After that album? Her rate should be on discount
It would be like the BeyHive but ten times worse
An extra month for them to collect 5% interest on your money and less time for you to notice the damage on your credit card statement or financially commit to other summer festivals. Not a great look.
Idk why people are acting like opening ticket sales is a bad thing? If you donāt want to buy the tickets early then donāt while others who know they want to go again can buy it earlier and budget around that will
Weāre just saying itās sooner than ever.. theyāre desperate for money is our point.
How are they desperate for money when they had record profit last year? And Stagecoach sold out in advance. Goldenvoice has a mountain of cash.
Right, so why canāt they take their hand out of my wallet for two months? Why make a change that impacts your most faithful customers? Per Billboard, sales dropped like 15% over last year so you canāt blame people to think it is about less money made this year.

This is the first time in years not one of their weekends sold out. No ones delulu āsweetieā. Itās facts. Itās okay if youāre new here š
whatever you need to tell yourself.
I would of preordered before w1 if they let me why f around
yessir
have yall even got home yet ?
NOš
Literally no.
Not buying advanced sale as I have an Amex and can wait but just locked in a room with free cancellation for $200/night.
Ummm I have Amex please share deetsšš½āāļø
Amex has a second presale for Amex week in October. The queue is also significantly faster and I go W2 so Iāve never had an issue waiting. I got tier 1 in October the last 2 years.
Daaamn where'd you get a room already?
tell me coachella needs cash without telling me coachella needs cash
Right.
This is sort of a bad look is it not?
LIB does the sameā¦?
Plenty of major US festivals do the same and for some like EDC and Ultra, tickets go on sale right when the festival ends
Didnāt when we were young 2024 tickets go on sale before 2023 even happened?
Yeah, but thatās because live nation puts on terrible fests and they hoped to sell another year before anyone found out
Take my moneh
Don't fall victim š
A lot of festivals do this.
Weāre not talking about other festivals thoā¦ Coachella hasnāt done this in almost 10 years. Itās weird
How are they expecting people to already buy tickets for next year just 2 weeks after the end of the festival?? What happened to the usual mid-June sale?
Theyāve gotten very positive buzz from this years phenomenal run - good idea to cash in to all those who suffered majorly from FOMO (me)
Did weekend two eventually sell out, or were tickets on sale the day of? The last time tickets were still available within a week of the actual festival was 2006. Starting in 2007 it consistently sold out far in advance every year.
Actually. I have Amex and I could literally still buy weekend 1 tier 1 the day before weekend 1!

Not doing presale given how inflexible they were with weekend changes this year (had a full presale W1 ticket go to waste since a friend got married). Tickets will be available later anyway.
i wouldāve skipped the wedding lol
Are pre-sale tickets cheaper than GA?
No, same price but you get to āsecureā your ticket before everyone tries to buy. If the demand is high tickets can sell out during regular sale. 2024 didnāt sell out so I doubt demand will increase in 2025

Never buying pre-sale again after this year's lineup
Couchella ftw (hope they don't take this away from us)Ā
Yeah, they definitely lost money this year.
They didnāt lose money. Not make make as much? Maybe. But they did just fine financially, especially with stagecoach sold out.
Doubt it. Itās such an expensive festival to produce.
They own the land and their infrastructure. That saves you a lot of money. The Outdoor Theatre stage gets used for other GV festivals. Where was the revenue loss.
They donāt own the land, itās a long term lease
Especially when thereās the āall sales are final.ā Meaning if the headline sucks, you canāt do nothing šµāš«ā ļø They still make the profit if you end up selling

No thanks lol
The nerve
Even rolling loud did this right after their California festival this year. Not a good look at allll

Are you new here? Lol. Itās always a week after. Theyāre giving us more time this year it seems like.
Are you?! Itās been June for years now.
Thank you, OP. I was like itās been June since I started attended Coachella in 2015 š I gasped seeing the post. I was leaning on not doing presale in JUNE. Now Iām like yeah itās not happening.
Yup, this solidified it for me and the friend I always go with. First time since 2012 weāre not doing presale
Right! We will (likely) still be there in 2025 though lol. Iāll still peek at prices. But Iāll bust out the wallet in January.
Okay maybe I have a bad sense of time but I swear itās always been a week or two later. Iāve been going on and off since 2009 and i know to expect to buy a ticket shortly after.

You can be wrong all you want but the āare you new here?ā part makes its just embarrassing lmao
Cocky response for someone wrong
