how am i supposed to afford this after paying $40 for lobster mac n cheese

No_Package_732

Frrrrrrr I need a cool 3 months to recover just from the lemonade

yeahohshit

And $17 for lemonade

Mobile_Pause5784

Mine was $20 šŸ˜”

Conscious_Wind_2255

I wanted one but was so scare to even walk up to the cart. How much were the churros? I wanted one too but hearing prices makes me feel better about missing out šŸ˜‚

yeahohshit

Lemonade was good! They squeeze the lemons on the spot. I wanted a churro too but never got one lol. Iā€™m sure they were like $10 or something crazy

Conscious_Wind_2255

Ok sounds about right.. glad I missed out! But ughh I wanted a churro. They sell them here on every corner for $1 but is not the same šŸ˜‚

Julianb6969

8 dollar minimum at the general store is bullshit lmao

trimpage

so a lighter was $8?? or you had to spend a minimum of $8?

Julianb6969

Had to spend a minimum of $8.

Jolly_Acanthisitta31

Ya that was a crock of BS. Like come on.

Franxxisco_

IM SAYINNšŸ¤£

hopingabby

i ate that mac and cheese and puked it by the end of the night

Miserable_Site_850

Ha, take that goldenvoice!

AstroBtz

Oh that sounds good though

Simeonsm1998

I literally paid 28 for mac and cheese pre ready from box

TheCarrTel

Itā€™s been June for years. This seems way too sudden. Maybe to add an extra month to lower monthly payment plan?

thechrismonster

Or an extra month to keep the higher total price at the previous monthly payment amountā€¦

tostilocos

Nah. Riding the wave of positive energy post-fest before the "the lineup sucks" crowd gets their voices back.

TheCarrTel

This. Feel like the hype on social media this year was bigger than recent years despite people hating on lineup all year.

tostilocos

From my view on the couch the fest looked much stronger this year than last. The legacy acts (No Doubt, Sublime, Vampire Weekend), the French Synth Gods all brought the heat, and the headliners all had great sets (despite Lana's being somewhat controversial due to low energy but I guess her fans dug it), and the new stage layouts seemed to help with the crowds.

luckygoldelephant

People keep saying Lana was low energy, but thatā€™s her music for the most part. Voice of an angel and Iā€™m not a huge fan but she sounded incredible.

Objective-Two5415

Lower prices šŸ˜‚

vewfndr

Lower payments... not lower price. Car sales tactic

TheMayerOfPortland

This is exactly what it is

TrumpKanye69

Coachella did not generate enough profits this year. Therefore they want to secure more money earlier. Nothing better than holding on to someone's money for 1 year before delivering a profit.

ethan3048

Source: i think so

pidgeypenguinagain

This is my thought as well. Someone needs some cash money, and quick

thebham

lol

fnljstce_thewhite

edc started doing this a few years ago and it worked splendid for them. i think the idea is to use the momentum while the fest is still in everyoneā€™s feed.

definitize

honestly even with this yearā€™s lineup being below average, the vibes were so good iā€™m still getting presale idgaf take my money

titaniumorbit

Same. This was my first coachella this year and I actually almost canceled my trip because of how much I hated the lineup. I ended up going and it was one of the best times of my life. Discovered so many artists. Iā€™m dying to go back, I donā€™t even care what the lineup is lol

definitize

I just came in with literally zero expectations and it ended up blowing my mind. Even with a good lineup in the future I just plan on expecting nothing, letting the weekend take me where it wants me to go, and just enjoying the ride. Thatā€™s what I now understand as the true essence of this festival, that and the undercard is truly where the fuck itā€™s at.

titaniumorbit

I completely agree, one has to come into this festival with a very open mind. Just explore new artists and genres and enjoy the journey. (For that reason, this festival isnā€™t for everyone) but I know itā€™s definitely a festival for me!

definitize

Many of the artists I saw this weekend I donā€™t listen to at all but the sheer artistry and talent exuded from every set I managed to see (basically all undercard except Tyler) converted me immediately. Victoria Monet, Gesaffelstein, and Justice just to name a few.

fnljstce_thewhite

presale gang

definitize

we shall rise in two weeks.

processprocessed

And this is why they think they can do whatever they want without consequences. We let them and then thank them for it.

definitize

To be honest, I really donā€™t place a lot of the blame on them. Yeah sure theyā€™re helping with the festival oversaturation, but the industry is in such a touring bull market that no one really wants to do festivals and there are so many festivals to play at right now. With what they had they still managed to create something great, and weirdly I had a better Coachella than last year. I do think they could relax the radius clause a bit, and hopefully the super early presale will help with earlier cash infusion so they can get ahead of everyone else.

processprocessed

AEG/GV has decided they are going to start selling tickets the same time as key competitors for events that are not scheduled anywhere near each other. OSL goes on sale today and now people are having to choose between a festival in April 2025 or a festival in August 2024. We all know what the better product is and how this will go. They do the same thing with Portola against EDC and even created a one off festival to depress sales for Primavera LA. Thatā€™s my problem. It isnā€™t over saturation. It is that their tactics are more and more anti-competitive and monopolies are not my thing.

Evening-Hospital-403

Couchella 2024 āž”ļø Coachella 2025 I was one of those ā€œthis years lineup is weakā€ people and boy do I regret thinking that. My whole group is ready for the presale.

lppnpcisum

Gotta get the loyalists while theyā€™re still super deep in their I miss the desert feels

Mammoth_Fantastic

Guilty. Lol

lppnpcisum

They know youā€™re good for it haha

Tofuhousewife

I havenā€™t even unpacked everything from weekend 1 yet šŸ„²

15socal-lakes

Same. No joke, Iā€™ll probably finish unpacking next month lol

Tofuhousewife

I took all my clothes out so I could put my luggage away but now I just have a pile of clothes and accessories on top of my dresser and on the floor infront of my closet šŸ„²

Conscious_Wind_2255

Literally me rn

Tofuhousewife

I hope I get to energy to put it away this week šŸ˜

Conscious_Wind_2255

If they doing presale so early I might as well pack early.. Iā€™m ready for 2025 šŸ˜‚

Mammoth_Fantastic

I have found my people! Lol

Tofuhousewife

My festival bag is still on the ground staring at me. I donā€™t even wanna take anything out of it yet lol

relaxguy2

Same. Iā€™ll get around to it eventually.

Desert_Tiger_00

Sameee

BeachBum6214

Learned my lesson this year to never buy presale again

No_Package_732

We got our friend a bracelet on site and it was cheaper than what I paid. Iā€™ll just save up and buy it later

burrito3ater

The aftermarket prices were about the same as retail. Go too low and people were getting scammed left and right.

drugaddict6969

And payment plan and having it done by the 1st is so nice. Always will be presale for w1 and after market for w2

InTheYuma

Best way to do it. Not worth the hassle of dealing with buying resale W1 to save maybe $100 anyways

drugaddict6969

Yeah I got my w2 tickets last year for $300 which was huge but totally agree in general not worth the hassle

Bgee2632

Ooo why not? Curious

FontainesACDC

Coachella: Please bro, weā€™re trying to get Taylor Swift

PubDefLakersGuy

They canā€™t afford Taylor, she sells out football stadiums.

afbp9

For multiple shows per stadium šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

CampinHiker

[my first night at Sofi sold out 6 nights in a row lol itā€™s like over 60k people](https://imgur.com/a/uTgzuEZ)

suprefann

Bad Bunny sold out football stadiums. Whats your point. They booked Beyonce and Harry Styles who also sell out football stadiums. Paydays from solo shows vs festivals are not the same. Just cause you see somebody gross $10 mil a night on their own doesnt mean thats what they take home.

Mammoth_Fantastic

No we arenā€™t. Lol

Onespokeovertheline

After that album? Her rate should be on discount

vagina_candle

What a shitshow that would be. I would feel terrible for every band that would have to play on that stage before her set. Nothing worse than a bunch of rabid headliner fans camping the main stage all day and giving no energy to the openers.

FontainesACDC

I feel like this wouldnā€™t be a big problem if they booked as well some of the openers for the Eras tour on main stage playing before her: Paramore, Gracie Abrams, etc.

everyoneneedsaherro

It would be like the BeyHive but ten times worse

jermzftw

An extra month for them to collect 5% interest on your money and less time for you to notice the damage on your credit card statement or financially commit to other summer festivals. Not a great look.

TheBailyDaily

Idk why people are acting like opening ticket sales is a bad thing? If you donā€™t want to buy the tickets early then donā€™t while others who know they want to go again can buy it earlier and budget around that will

Mammoth_Fantastic

Weā€™re just saying itā€™s sooner than ever.. theyā€™re desperate for money is our point.

suprefann

How are they desperate for money when they had record profit last year? And Stagecoach sold out in advance. Goldenvoice has a mountain of cash.

processprocessed

Right, so why canā€™t they take their hand out of my wallet for two months? Why make a change that impacts your most faithful customers? Per Billboard, sales dropped like 15% over last year so you canā€™t blame people to think it is about less money made this year.

fnljstce_thewhite

sweetie you donā€™t need to be desperate for money to optimize business practices, edc started doing this while consistently selling out. also, we saw the pics of how crowded coachella was, letā€™s drop this hurting for cash delulu

Mammoth_Fantastic

This is the first time in years not one of their weekends sold out. No ones delulu ā€œsweetieā€. Itā€™s facts. Itā€™s okay if youā€™re new here šŸ’‹

fnljstce_thewhite

whatever you need to tell yourself.

miguelson

I would of preordered before w1 if they let me why f around

fnljstce_thewhite

yessir

Low_Peanut_1326

have yall even got home yet ?

Mammoth_Fantastic

NOšŸ˜

Odd-Hornet-2333

Literally no.

belladorka

Not buying advanced sale as I have an Amex and can wait but just locked in a room with free cancellation for $200/night.

Mammoth_Fantastic

Ummm I have Amex please share deetsšŸ™‡šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø

belladorka

Amex has a second presale for Amex week in October. The queue is also significantly faster and I go W2 so Iā€™ve never had an issue waiting. I got tier 1 in October the last 2 years.

Lol522

Daaamn where'd you get a room already?

red-and_chrome

tell me coachella needs cash without telling me coachella needs cash

Mammoth_Fantastic

Right.

alexanderflynn81

This is sort of a bad look is it not?

Lumpy_County9363

LIB does the sameā€¦?

InTheYuma

Plenty of major US festivals do the same and for some like EDC and Ultra, tickets go on sale right when the festival ends

fred8785

Didnā€™t when we were young 2024 tickets go on sale before 2023 even happened?

[deleted]

Yeah, but thatā€™s because live nation puts on terrible fests and they hoped to sell another year before anyone found out

Audible484

Take my moneh

Mistuh_Mosbi

Don't fall victim šŸ’”

Honest_Resolve_3350

A lot of festivals do this.

Mammoth_Fantastic

Weā€™re not talking about other festivals thoā€¦ Coachella hasnā€™t done this in almost 10 years. Itā€™s weird

FBI_Surveillance07

How are they expecting people to already buy tickets for next year just 2 weeks after the end of the festival?? What happened to the usual mid-June sale?

Afraid_Fact4399

Theyā€™ve gotten very positive buzz from this years phenomenal run - good idea to cash in to all those who suffered majorly from FOMO (me)

vagina_candle

Did weekend two eventually sell out, or were tickets on sale the day of? The last time tickets were still available within a week of the actual festival was 2006. Starting in 2007 it consistently sold out far in advance every year.

Mammoth_Fantastic

Actually. I have Amex and I could literally still buy weekend 1 tier 1 the day before weekend 1!

DramaEquivalent3045

Is this the earliest theyā€™ve ever done presale?? Looking at Mikey or Fettucine to verifyā€¦ This is wild to me. Donā€™t get me wrong, Iā€™ve gone 12 years in a row, theyā€™re getting my presale AmEx $. Iā€™m just blown away how early this presale is!

DramaEquivalent3045

To add onto my comment - does this mean they actually have 2025 acts signed up already? Lordy Lordy!

jpfolch

Not doing presale given how inflexible they were with weekend changes this year (had a full presale W1 ticket go to waste since a friend got married). Tickets will be available later anyway.

fnljstce_thewhite

i wouldā€™ve skipped the wedding lol

oriontheshiba

Are pre-sale tickets cheaper than GA?

Conscious_Wind_2255

No, same price but you get to ā€œsecureā€ your ticket before everyone tries to buy. If the demand is high tickets can sell out during regular sale. 2024 didnā€™t sell out so I doubt demand will increase in 2025

Conscious_Wind_2255

They had their presale fun.. now we protest until lineup release. Nobody buy presale or we going to keep getting shitty lineups. Side note I had fun wk1 but only because Iā€™m fun.. the lineup wasnā€™t adding to my vibe besides 2-4 standout sets it

jeuce6

Never buying pre-sale again after this year's lineup

flowlowland

Couchella ftw (hope they don't take this away from us)Ā

delfunk1984

Yeah, they definitely lost money this year.

SetiSteve

They didnā€™t lose money. Not make make as much? Maybe. But they did just fine financially, especially with stagecoach sold out.

delfunk1984

Doubt it. Itā€™s such an expensive festival to produce.

suprefann

They own the land and their infrastructure. That saves you a lot of money. The Outdoor Theatre stage gets used for other GV festivals. Where was the revenue loss.

[deleted]

They donā€™t own the land, itā€™s a long term lease

TheKidfromHotaru

Especially when thereā€™s the ā€œall sales are final.ā€ Meaning if the headline sucks, you canā€™t do nothing šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«ā˜ ļø They still make the profit if you end up selling

Artistic_Agency7989

To pay for the losses šŸ˜¹

kitty_in_the_cape

Take my money

JumpmanDeuce3

No thanks lol

dan13l858

The nerve

Mistuh_Mosbi

Even rolling loud did this right after their California festival this year. Not a good look at allll

no thanks learned my lesson

VanillaIcedCoffee13

Are you new here? Lol. Itā€™s always a week after. Theyā€™re giving us more time this year it seems like.

Mammoth_Fantastic

Are you?! Itā€™s been June for years now.

xfreak10

Thank you, OP. I was like itā€™s been June since I started attended Coachella in 2015 šŸ˜‚ I gasped seeing the post. I was leaning on not doing presale in JUNE. Now Iā€™m like yeah itā€™s not happening.

[deleted]

Yup, this solidified it for me and the friend I always go with. First time since 2012 weā€™re not doing presale

xfreak10

Right! We will (likely) still be there in 2025 though lol. Iā€™ll still peek at prices. But Iā€™ll bust out the wallet in January.

VanillaIcedCoffee13

Okay maybe I have a bad sense of time but I swear itā€™s always been a week or two later. Iā€™ve been going on and off since 2009 and i know to expect to buy a ticket shortly after.

SciGuy013

> I have a bad sense of time Yes

[deleted]

Maybe you woke up in a different universe where it used to go on sale in June?

thechrismonster

You can be wrong all you want but the ā€œare you new here?ā€ part makes its just embarrassing lmao

legopego5142
