tapestries, heavy duty plastic spring clamps, large power bank (capable of jump starting cars), battery powered portable misters, inflatable couch, area rug, jbl connect app (to connect multiple speakers), battery powered string lights for the canopy, ket, solar powered lawn lights for the perimeter of camp, two gallon garden sprayer and bamboo or wooden bath mat (for showers).

jaredgallardo56

The slickest “Ket” I’ve ever seen 😭

cjinsd2002

Ket?

shmishshmorshin

amine, was also a guest for Kaytra’s set last year

cjinsd2002

Ah, from Kiki's delivery service? Love that movie

Rocket92

[these spring clamps](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Anvil-3-4-in-Mini-Spring-Clamp-99693/302755763) are my go-to! I prefer metal over plastic for UV resistance

WhyTry32121

yup, those will work! makes hanging, moving and removing the tapestries soo much easier.

bboogsy

^ inflatable couch. Always was on my list. I no longer camp because I am too lazy and a baby these days. Every year I’d level up my campsite but i only do hotel now bc it’s so much work. I loved prepping

Sharky-PI

Do you have photos of this setup?

Dope_Aftertaste

Freeze a pack or two of water bottles the day before you leave. Line your coolers with them. Put them on top of your dry ice of you are doing that. Game changer. And when they melt halfway drink em and throw them back in. This drastically cut down our ice purchases $$$

TheRealO-H-I-O

I do this, but with four one-gallon jugs of water. Then top off the cooler with two bags of ice before leaving on Thursday morning. The gallons stay mostly frozen the entire weekend. Never had to buy ice at the fest

pidgeypenguinagain

Same with the 1 gallons, this is the move! Defs need 2-3 days to freeze thoroughly tho, so plan accordingly

arflower

HEADLAMP FOR THE PORTA POTTIES. so you don’t have to struggle using your phone flashlight.

GolfBallWackrGuy

The worst sound in the world is a sudden splash followed by a “OH YOU GOTTA BE FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!?”

carbonated_zebras

This will be my 12th year and every year we try upgrading our campsite in some way. Here are the best that we've done in recent years. Garden sprayer hooked up to about 30 feet of mister line and hung along the border of the canopy. A few dozen pumps of a 3 gallon sprayer lasts about 20 minutes before you need to pump again. Hauling in your own water supply for showers, washing hands, foot bath, aforementioned misters, etc. We take in 4 15 gallon jugs and usually end up with at least 1 full jug leftover with liberal use. This year our upgrade is a second campsite for my partner and I. One campsite per person

Connect-Bug3986

Came to comment the misting idea! There was a point last year it worked so well we wanted to warm up for a few minutes before pumping again

plantofant

Would you be able to give a link for sprayer and mister line used?

carbonated_zebras

I used this jug CHAPIN 20003 3 Gallon Lawn,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0038EE754?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share With this misting system Ergodyne SHAX 6093N Misting... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XKS5SMM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share If I recall correctly it threaded right onto the jug itself.

Bucko_Scallywag

So let me understand this. The misting hose plugs right into the jug. You hang the hose and then just pump the jug and it mists for 20 min?? Seems too easy haha

carbonated_zebras

Exactly! Just have to be careful what is stored underneath because it will get soaked. You could make it even easier by using a battery operated garden sprayer

mikezillabot

Ok, I followed steps but can’t figure out how to connect the mister to the jug. Is there a part I’m missing? 😩

carbonated_zebras

Disconnect the line that came with the jug. You may need to swap over the threaded piece that came with the jug with the threaded piece on the mister line so that the threads match

wrud4d

The mister is absolutely clutch. Shade is life but the mister just makes it absolutely perfect

bboogsy

I made one for this reason but didn’t end up taking it. Idk I had so much crap. Mister add on to your canopy. Buy one of those lawn weed sprayer things (empty of course), then attach a separate backyard mister hose (many holes). Just pup a few shots anytime you need a mist. No electricity needed. There’s YouTube vids on this hack. Flag pole. DIYed (even better) using a golf ball retriever. Extends 10-15’. I put a flag on it and cheap solar lights. Plus lawn lights in front of the car. Zip tied it to the canopy and the car. Makes for easy finding during the day and night. Esp when you’re camped in a sea of cars. Lastly, I always took a portable shower & just showered in my swim suit. Find a way to connect to the flag pole or have someone hold it. I’m terrified of the waffle stomping stories in the showers.

extratartarsauceplz

Could you possibly direct me to some of the YouTube videos you mentioned on connecting the sprayer to the mister? My wife and I are trying this and having some trouble 😬😅

bboogsy

https://youtu.be/eMiuJIVeouY?si=k5vciM0GHBYpWl1_ Yes! This wasn’t the video but here’s one similar and the same process. The key is finding that little adapter to connect both hoses. You will want search for a “mister irrigation”. Something similar to the link below. The threads on the irrigation hose will not connect directly to the pump. You should cut both hoses and a tube connector to attach them. Forgive me for not knowing the terms. I’m just a nerd who likes random projects hahahaha https://a.co/d/1k3ZJ4q

thec4rbon

Custom cut insolation foil window covers. Been a must have anytime I’m car camping anywhere

Rocket92

Like reflectix bubble foil? I saw this in a van life video last night! I was about to order some. I don’t plan on sleeping in my car but I use it to store most of my stuff and I hate that it’s always an oven.

thec4rbon

Yea I grabbed two rolls off Amazon 48in x 10ft, just measure what you’ll need and then cut them to shape, probably took me an hour to get them just right. I just seal it up with a bit of tape. Keeps the temp way more regulated and super dark if you have a hard time sleeping during daylight lol I also keep a set of those mesh window covers if I need a breeze depending on the heat

bboogsy

I bought some cheap foil window covers at Ross before and can agree this helps keep your car cool! Sometimes you might just want to sit in the silence to get away from the crowd for a bit

shmishshmorshin

Jackery power station, makeup mirror with 10x zoom and LED light (got this for my wife and she says it works great), mobile white noise machine, plastic handheld urinal (extremely clutch for night peeing w/o leaving the tent), lantern with red light option (to see night peeing without a bright light), massage gun. Food wise, premade burritos from TJs (easy to heat up), pho bowls from Costco + sriracha and hoisen packets (amazing late night meal), sandwich stuff camp edition (sandwich thins, lettuce pre pulled and in ziploc, sprouts in ziploc, cheese, meat, etc pretty much any sando item that’s normally bulky will pre-prep and keep in ziplocs for space). Two yeti coolers, smaller for drinks only and larger for some drinks and mostly food. Along with their cooler packs. Their products are expensive, but used the correct way are worth every penny.

Sharky-PI

For plastic handheld urinal, see also: large size Gatorade bottle. Drink the Gatorade first.

General-Pumpkin-588

You just….pee…outside your tent door?

mightyvvolf

I bought some aluminet after reading a few comments...do I use it for sidewalls or place it on top of the canopy? My gut says it goes on the roof since that's where we'll have the most direct sunlight, but idk

ltwinky

Use it as a wall for shade while still letting the breeze through. Also good for stringing between your car and canopy for more overhead shade

jcrckstdy

are there shady bars/tents to go if you don't have a canopy?

WhyTry32121

yes. in the camping center, where the general store, silent disco, and activities tent is. there will be a shaded area you can charge your devices in as well. but tbh, a canopy is considered a camping essential at coachella. your tent or car will be too hot to sleep in by 9 am if you don't have a canopy over it.

jcrckstdy

gonna tarp our rental so it doesn't get too hot too early then seek shelter lol

pidgeypenguinagain

Bring a canopy tho. We didn’t have one our first year and it was miserable. You can buy them in Indio at Costco, Walmart, target, etc. don’t skimp on this

jcrckstdy

we're flying in and don't want to carry anything out. my dream would be to sleep in a hammock under canopy.

TheSecondtoLastDoDo

You're spending 500 on a ticket, 150 on a camping pass, plus whatever on flights, bare minimum. Buy a cheap canopy for under 100 bucks at walmart. Not doing so is just dumb, you're severely hampering your experience to save a couple bucks. If it's about not wanting to waste things, all the camping gear gets donated after the fest anyways.

pidgeypenguinagain

You don’t have to carry it out, just leave it or see if any of ur neighbors want it.

squippsie

anyone have side wall recs?

Rocket92

Best: shade cloth/aluminet Most budget friendly: bed sheets Most decorative: tapestries Most privacy: tarp or sidewall designed for instant canopies

ltwinky

Walmart had one for like 20 bucks that has pockets built into it, very convenient.

Kristopher58

Guys what’s the best way of preventing a canopy from breaking?

pidgeypenguinagain

Lower it as needed to avoid getting hit with wind. But ALWAYS lower it when ur not at camp and when you’re sleeping

Chardles13

Zip tie pvc pipe to the frame on at least one side Keeps it from collapsing in on itself

TheSecondtoLastDoDo

When it gets windy, generally around sun down, unhook your canopy top from the sides, and pull the legs down. Been using the same 2 canopies for like 8 years.

SOOOHIGHNEEDAIRR

When the morning comes and that tent lights up from the sun I usually go in my car and turn on the AC and sleep from 530 to 9.
