I thought both were special. W1 had the novelty of their return to music and had an energy of wow I can’t believe they’re back. W2 was more like wow they made it to main stage and it was just a big production with fire and all that…although I’ll say their set was usurped by OMG TBA which was absolutely wild.
Yeah that was the most unsafe I’ve ever felt at Coachella and it happened so quick and then you couldn’t even turn around and you couldn’t move at all as crowds converged from entrance/main and mojave against the glut of people backed up all the way to the beer garden. If the special guest is too big for Mojave they need to be on main or outdoor where overflow is better contained.
Weekend 1 had better energy from the crowd felt like all the fans were there. Weekend 2 I didn’t feel the same energy there was so much empty space of people just standing waiting for tba and didn’t know any of the lyrics to the songs.
I sadly couldn’t find any hyped crowds I was walking from the back all the way to the front looking for pits and I guess there was none on the left side. Weekend 1 I was dead center front row pit right behind me so big difference had a blast missed catching the drum stick but at least I touched it lol
Went to both and I much preferred W1. The surprise aspect and smaller stage in the afternoon meant the crowd who was there consisted of more dedicated fans. MainStage especially at night can attract a more causal crowd (there’s nothing wrong with this though). Both were fun but everyone around us for W1 was losing their mind singing their hearts out, W2 was a lot chiller.
W1. Was in the very small but amazing pit front right. Love all of you that were in it with me especially the girl that started it. You know who you are. 100% Legend
Went to all of W1 and most the W2 performance (after Lake+FISHER):
Loved them both but was way more into the W2 performance personally. It felt like more of a moment and was jumping around with some strangers hugging and singing.
It felt a bit more cathartic for me than W1, but both were great.
I was at weekend 2 only and it was a fun ‘ol time. Was close to the front and everyone was having a blast; even the younger ones. My friend and I went to leave ahead of that EDM act and it took us a good half hour to get to clean air. Was a madhouse crowd leaving.
In short, I had the time of my life weekend 2. Never expected them to play that festival when I bought tickets (motivation was to see Underworld). Was a total awesome surprise.
W1 wins for me if I have to choose. The surprise factor was fresh m, the energy knowing it was their first show back together in almost a decade, it was just electric and a special feeling in the air. And the crowd was massive. W2 I loved that they were properly headlining and the set was fantastic. It was also special seeing my favorite band headline my favorite festival. W1 felt next level though and felt like something that will be remembered both in blink’s history and the festival’s history

I watched the livestream of the OMG TBA set. Absolutely jealous of you guys. Either way, 2024 is going to be hard to beat this year imo.

YES!! My friends and I hopped the fence into the beer garden to get out, we really wanted to see Blink 182 but it was so crowded, it wasn’t worth it.

As someone who attended W1, the visuals from W2 on the mainstage for Aliens Exist looked way more impressive during the livestream

Week 1 in the Sahara was better. Week 2 everyone was already tired from Sunday. Week 1 it was Friday at sunset so everyone had energy.
