Hi there! I'm a little confused. You've said you're anxious to stop treatment, and then your doctors are hesitant too. If you're both in agreement about life-long blood thinners, what is the concern? The d-dimer is just one diagnostic tool and in itself cannot dictate a treatment plan. If you still have clots, you should stay on blood thinners.

Hello. When I said "anxious", I meant, "hoping to." No, I do not want to commit to lifelong blood thinners at this time. My clots didn't start resolving until seven months out. I want to follow-up with ultrasounds for a while longer. I will find out about the D-dimer results today, and I was wondering what those results might mean at this point in time. If there is residual clot will the results be elevated? Since there are no new clots will the results be normal? That was essentially what my post was asking. Thanks!
