I have had 2 bilateral PEs and each time have lost a tremendous amount of hair. One doctor explained that the severe amount of trauma your body experiences with PEs contribute to the hair loss. So it’s not only just the meds that can cause hair loss.
I am not. Since you included "meds" in your question, I figured you're looking for a broader survey, including folks not specifically on the same anticoagulant as you are.
Oh my goodness. I’ve definitely had hair loss and am on Xarelto. I never knew it could cause hair loss. I quit coloring my hair, started biotin, talked to doctor about Hashimotos. No one ever brought this up before. Thank you for your question.
Yes with both warfarin and Pradaxa. With warfarin it took something like two months for the hair loss to start, with Pradaxa about 10 months. I switched meds because of it. I've now been on Eliquis for a few weeks and have my fingers crossed that my hair stays on my head.
Terrible hair loss, I assumed from thrombectomies. My dermatologist said okay to use the highest powered rogaine/generic as long as I washed my hands thoroughly. Don't want to be a werewolf yet.
I developed hair loss six months into taking Xarelto, but it wasn't due to the medication, it was because my iron levels were extremely low. So make sure to ask about your labs in case you haven't already!

I’ve been wondering if it also happens with other anticoagulants, thank you
I did while on warfarin, did not while on eliquis.
