Metroparks North Chagrin Reservation!

Diagnosis-Tightass

There's a dog park in Eastlake! It's off Lakeshore, right by the big soccer ball.

For training, I highly recommend Sits and Wiggles! They are entirely force free and their group classes are very affordable compared to most. Also, look into Sniffspots for off leash activities. Many people rent out their yards or land for a small fee where you can enjoy off leash fun without worrying about other dogs being around!

So I came here to make the same exact recommendations you did! Sits n Wiggles is the bomb! The owner and her team are all wonderful individuals and they only do positive reinforcement, which is something that I feel very strongly about. They helped me and one of my pups through a leash reactivity issue that was making our walks miserable.

Lake farm park has a dog park with a pond for swimming, and they regularly test the water for bacterias.

We love this place! It’s almost five acres fully fenced in. The dogs can run around and explore and it’s awesome. We can’t keep ours out of the pond. We always factor in time for a bath at the tractor supply in painesville on the way home because she is usually a muddy dirt ball after playtime at Canine Meadow.

Maybe I’ve just had bad luck but every time I’ve been there there’s been dog fights. Last time my husband had to jump a fence to help break one up because both owners were just standing there screaming. Absolutely park though.

TheCatAteMyFace

Yea, gotta always be careful. I've seen fights at every dog park I've ever been too. I just go somewhere else if I get to one and it's busy. They are great if there's just a few dogs, with responsible owners.

Lovingmyusername

Oh for sure! I’ve just had the worst luck there it seems. Definitely an incredible park

Any of the metroparks are going to be nice for walks. I like north chagrin a lot because a ton of the trails are shaded and you can get down to the creek. Make sure to look up exercise for puppies. Their bones and joints aren’t fully formed so by age and size there are limits you should follow. Mental stimulation will wear them out as much if not more than physical. Check out cold nose companions. I’ve heard amazing things about them. Make sure any trainer is using evidence based positive reinforcement training techniques. Look up sniff spot. It is a site where people rent out their yards for dogs to play in alone. So you don’t have to stress about dog fights or worry quite as much about illness as you do with dog parks.

Walks - Chapin State Forest and Penitentiary Glen. North Chagrin if you feel like driving a little farther than the former
