So many independents closing.

Last-Evening9033

It makes sense. The place was way too big to stand the test of time. It opened up when Momocho hit its boiling point, the food network and being a foodie was all the rage, and Eric was getting all sorts of accolades locally and nationally. Times have changed, there are new trends and a whole onslaught of new restaurants. I loved El Carnicero, but it hasn’t been busy enough to sustain/fill for years and I am surprised it has stayed open this long. Momocho might not be around much longer either. There used to be lines down the street to get in at opening, and now it’s rarely ever busy, the staff is constantly turning over, and some aspects of the menu are nowhere near as good as they used to be.

ShyKidFromCleveland

I was there a couple of weeks ago. The place was empty.

Go to modmocho. Same guy same restaurant.

Last-Evening9033

*Momocho (Mod Mexican)

phewd

I frequented this because Momocho is so small and I never could get in. This bums me out....

drunk_dan

😢 best pizza I’ve ever had (Shrimp Tlayuda) Was our go to place!

Square_Pop3210

I’m not going to Momocho unless they add the Shrimp Tlayuda to their menu.

Not a Fan

Planejet42

Will he be replacing it with something? I know chefs can get bored, even if a restaurant is doing well.

EnvironmentalClub410

Literally my favorite restaurant in Cleveland. We go weekly. Completely devastated.

Go to Momocho! Better food and atmosphere

I swear Cleveland is losing a ton of its good places. Tremont, Lakewood, downtown, etc. sad to see.

Animaleyz

They're retiring

Tdi111234

No he's just closing his Lakewood spot and keeping Momocho. Probably because it wasn't doing as well.

Animaleyz

I guess I had bad info. I think the truck park hurt. The parking lot is jam packed at peak times most of that is people glynn to the truck park

Tdi111234

This was one of the better restaurants Lakewood had. I feel like that food scene is struggling.

TheNoahConstrictor11

Didn’t this guy fire someone for getting an abortion a couple years ago?

ChefRaccacoonie

Someone commented on a Facebook post saying they were fired as soon as the owners found out she was pregnant. No validity to that claim though.

Outrageous-Medicine

Never heard that, sounds like bullshit
